You can preorder the game in Norway, one gameshop even put April 24. as the official release date 2-3 weeks ago. The thing is that EA is the box partner in the US and I don't think they want TSW to affect the SWTOR sales yet. ;) |

The Warzones will be 100v100v100 battles and I actually got to ask a developer about this over a month ago and yeah, they had tested that specifially to avoid the problems they had with sieges in AoC. I was as sceptial as you were being a former AoC player. ;) |

Wait we're hyped for this? It's going to take a miracle for me to commit to a Funcom game again after the disaster that was AoC. |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd your info about the warzone being 100v100v100 is solid? I know everything can change until launch, but are you sure on that? I was thinking it was going to be 100+ , something like 40v40v40 etc... |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd this is not true the warzones are persistent areas of the world, they are not a 100 a side battleground or a lake wintergrasp style afair. while there are caps for performance, they are not something you queue for then play "a match", you walk to them via agartha just like the pve zones. If your society can't be bothered and only bring 15 people to the given warzone when another society has 90 or something - tough. You can't "win" a warzone either, you can hold it by owning 2 of the 4 objectives, and you keep on holding it until one of the other socities takes it off you. Holding zones gives a faction wide bonus and gives access to special vendors. Holding all zones gives an as yet unspecified extra reward. you are right in that one of the main things they worked on with version 3 of the engine was allowing more players on screen / in zone though |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd Hehe, yep. The sieges were really an AWESOME idea, but critically hampered by coding and stability issues, with the result that there were too many crashes and too few players for really massive sieges. Massive warfare with hundreds of players in a stable and fairly lagfree situation is what I'm hoping for, should be great.
Originally posted by ShakyMo But what will happen if the cap is reached? Opening of a 2nd instance, or you get a notification that the area is full and that you cannot enter, and you'll be queued? |

I remember my first mmo. it's been a long time, but i remember it. I was a noob and had no idea i was a tiny little fish swimming in a big pond. Everything was so important. Then i learned the system and figured out what i had to do to be the best. but in the end i would trade anything to have that feeling again. I hope the floodgates are not open. I hope the wheel intimidates me. I hope there are no "right" answers. I hope i can get lost again. |

FUNCOM - NO freaking way I will touch it till it is at least 6 months out the gate and doing well. Both AO and AOC were a total wreck at release. |

I was really hyped until they announced a cash shop upon monthly fee. Now I intend to decide 2-3 months after release if this game is worth buying. Their PR department is doing a good job but I'd rather see the real thing. |

I see only two possibilities. It's either April launch and very messed up, like AoC or even worse. Or then a later date.
With the lack of gameplay videos, pre-orders et cetera there is no way in hell they can have a smooth launch in about 2 months from now. Zero.

this is funcoms last nail in my opinion. Messing around with EA ... LOL ... might as well retire now before the game is launched... |

Originally posted by I_Return I agree and it's kind of sad actually because there are some really great ideas behind AoC and TSW. I'd even say that TSW is something that I've waited for years - no levels and contemporary Lovecraftian horror. I'm afraid that if they release it in April half finished it will be even bigger flop than AoC was. |

Kinna makes me wonder, what about the secret war we signed up for in what? August?? The garanteed beta access that came tied to one of many Aoc related promotions. I for one am not impressed by their promotion, a hand few of interview 2 and a half video and a couple of screenshots. But the information, updates, news letters to people who have been registered since 2009. Atleast to me they certainly seemed to have gone out of their way to kill interest.

Christ. Are some of you people even still capable to ENJOY MMO gaming or have some of you lost that ability the past couple of years? With such allround negativity that I encounter sometimes on these forums, I wonder why some people haven't slit their wrists yet or jumped off the building if that's their regular walk through life -_- smh a LOT.
Well, I don't dismiss a game not by default bc of some former grudge against the company making it, and personally I go for a 'wait and see' attitude and down-to-earth expectations, hasn't failed me yet so far. Besides, small annoyances or bugs don't scare me that easily so I had an awesome time in AoC. I like what I've learnt so far regarding TSW and I'm still able to enjoy MMO's for what they offer, so... I'm keeping an open mind about TSW. |

Originally posted by Paithan i dont think they are killing interest, i think they are trying to be secretive, a lack of recent info about the game builds up a certain mystery that could be seen as intriging to a number of people. |

Originally posted by smh_alot I would agree with you, I had a blast for years on ao and aoc. I do base my oppinion on other things. I used a promo that would garantee me beta access, granted they still have 2ish months left but still no word. Lack of communication. Lack of updates, adding 2 screenshots once every 6 months isnt a update sorry. The secret war.. we signed up for that when? August wasnt it? Part of the appeal of the secret was was it offering garanteed access through it. Still no word from it actually starting. Facebook, we where required to registed on facebook, they dont really do anything with our registrion/connection, to me this seems more like they had some sponsorship from facebook to get people signed up on it. Seemly no pre-order plan. Seemingly no interest in their registered (potentional) customers They certainly arent showing anything that suggest they actually DO want us there. There is more I can add but that would just piss me off and francly they lost the value to me to BE pissed off about it.
