You are probably right about Dust, but you couldnt be more wrong about Eve online. This is the only game backed by a big budget company that offers that unique "sandbox feel" its not just a mmorpg, its more of virtuel world and thats everything that a good mmo should be. They made a game that appeals to a narrow audience and that is both their greatest asset and their greatest ass pain. Because Eve will never get millions but their fanbase will remain one of the most intelligent and the most community active in the industry. I dont think they are done developing the game and I dont think its done growing. If they can pull off another expansion like the one that brought wormholes they will have everyone foaming at the mouth. And the future of MMOs are not in big-budget smash-hit failures like SW:TOR, its in niche games. If CCP can bring to WoD what they brought to Eve online, they will have a major success. |

I am excited at the premise of WoD, and glad that I'll have GW2 to play until it comes out. If they take a couple years or more to make a fantastic game, so be it. All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick. |

I've always thought WOD and CCP are a very good match... That is, if CCP doesn't try to sell us our own fangs for 50 dollars each. :P Joke (hopefully!) aside, everything I've heard about this game has given me good vibes. To me, the CCP art team is good at nailing atmosphere - EVE is the only MMO where I don't go "Argh!" looking at just the space and spaceships. So I'm hopeful they'll at least come up with a gameworld that feels right and is strong on atmosphere. Just hoping we get to see it before 2015. |

I will NEVER FORGET.
And you shouldn't either. "Greed is good." - CCP
I consider myself fortunate that I know what oWOD is and have the benefit of good friends to enjoy it with. We're in the middle of a phenomenal MtA campaign right now, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to form their opinion of WoD based on something tainted by the green-stained fingers of CCP's fatcat executives. In fact, I have to wonder how much WW has already contemplated the cost of a breach over the whole debacle; I suspect they decided it would be very expensive, financially and in terms of PR.
Do yourself a favor; spend your hard-earned money on some books and your time on your friends, and experience the World of Darkness the only way it truly can be. Peace and safety. |

Wow, a dev that admit that they messed up, apologize to the players and solves the problem... Smed should talk to these guys... I hope they don´t plan to launch WoDO as a F2P games as well though. That might be fine for Dust (even though I think B2P would be better) but I rather pay my monthly fee with WoDO without any item shops. |

The doctors say his chances are 50/50...but there's only a 10% chance of that. |

That's what an MMORPG is about though, improving and expanding upon the game over time. If they had just released it and never touched the space parts again, well, that'd be stupid. El Psy Congroo |

"Dominate" was the reporter's word. Don't hold CCP to that.
Someone please make a good MMO. |

lol... your captian's quarters are an instances.. they are not real, (a fake room). Any amount of graphics or detail can be added, because everything within them are controlled by Devs. You cannot have 50 un-invited textures apear on your screen. Same as with entering a station... you don't really enter it, you "zone into" a web page. With a 3dim viewable apsect of your ship. U don't actually fly around the station and find an open bay door and land and get out.
That^ will be PlanetSide2 and because it will be a seemless world & textures (as a whole) will have be less, just to accomindate ALL OF EVERYONE< OR ANYONE who might enter your field of view... because the Dev's cannot control such things in MMORPG's. That is why MMORPG's (on average) cannot have the same level of detail as a single player game, or a multi-player game with levels/maps (ie: BF3). These limitations will drastically change in the neer future with 8gb ram & video cards with 2~3GB of VRAM, DX11, etc..

I think that BioWare's treatment of SWTOR demonstrates that the only serious way to design an MMORPG successfully around a well known IP is to first dedicate yourself and your team to copying WoW as much as possible, sacrificing your IP wherever you need to, to accomodate the holy trinity and an end consisting entirely of grinding out gear for both PvE and PvP. I hope clan Tremere have a good healing spec available to them! |

Heh , do your homeworks people , you think CCP is only stationned in Iceland? They got a whole dedicated team in North America (Georgia to be precise) working on WoD. Of course they are mostly working on Dust 514 atm , once that's out of the way ,WoD will be kicking in high gear. |

Lost all respect for CCP with the dismantling of Incarna EVE. No interest in their products now. |

I have a lot of respect for CCP, especially as they are bucking the trend by not building themepark turds, and maintaning a sandbox, when even the term is considered 'evil'. World of Darkness presents a lot of fun gameplay potential for me as I'm not the type of gamer than is fond of endlessly bashing hordes of monsters. I love the socio-political aspect of Eve, and CCP has stated on many occassions that this is the chief focus for World of Darkness - another virtual world where players and player society makes the rules and enforces them. However with that said, if they choose to riddle World of Darkness with microtransactions, I will not touch this game, and I suspect many people who were at first interested in it will feel similarly.

The engine for high end models in EVE was a complete failure. They decided to put it on low priority. I don't see them make WoD anytime soon without exploding graphics cards, really. Cast your vote: The importance of character customisation |

When CCP adds Werewolf the Apocalypse to WoD then I'll be interested. However with CCP's track record that will be 10+ years down the road if ever so while it's WoD in name it's really just VtM which is not all that bad as VtM is a fun game with a lot of lore wonder if they'll ever add the Sabbat or independents like the Giovanni as playable options down the road or restrict them to NPCs.

Seriously, I find it kind of sad that so many people are so quick to jump down CCP's throats when the only time it is even mentioned is in the title of the article. |
