not to even mention skill lag, atrocious class inbalance, horribly bland pvp maps, etc, etc. pvp was an after thought in this game. i can't even force myself to log in anymore.

Originally posted by FrostWyrm Well, this is traditionally true of MMORPG's, but I must say I favored titles more like EVE where you could catch up and be on more even footing without having to spend inordinate amounts of time playing. GW2 promises to be more forgiving in this area as well so we'll see how that goes.

What's the point in deleting your characters? |

Originally posted by Jakdstripper I can forgive alot of things but fairness and balance are deal breakers for me. No one should be required to have to go against premades unless they themselves queue up premades. And if I queue up as a level 21 then everyone on both sides should be within 5 or 6 levels. Come on dont tell me that you cant implent some sort of selective queueing process to assign fairness and some sembalance of balance, even if it means the matchmaking system wil lresult in longer queues. |

I understand your sentiment. I had days without wins as well doing randoms. i.e. Your daily quest essentialy becomes a "twice weekly" one which is kind of sucky. Next to that I had bad luck with assembled parts dropping from commendation bags. I think I opened 11 in a row with only coms one week V_V Stuff like the RNG reward system and needing actual WINS for daily and weekly quest completion can make it extremely rough and discouraging for random group queue'ers. Not so much because of losing often, but spending so much time on repetitve content with so little reward if the dice don't happen roll your way. I also reached the conclusion that there were probably a million ways in which I could spend my precious free time in a more enjoying way. :) |

Originally posted by DarkPony I'm confused Pony.. does that mean your sig is permanently retired? (or atleast semi-permanently?) I agree OP. I agree so much. Tier the system. Suck it up. They borrowed some of the BEST things from other MMO's. Steal that too. Nothing worse than playing against 20 50's in any PvP because even with the "raise" I get, I don't stand a chance in PvP. |

To the OP. Sorry to see you go. I wish you would have given me your stuff before deleting though.... |

Originally posted by Robsolf TBH first time Ive ever done something as drastic as that but as I stated I was going to give the game system 8 games across 4 characters and both factions on the same server to see how unfair the system really is and all it would of taken is 1 win, JUST ONE. Why play a game thats either horribly unfair or at the very elast has it out for me lol.
Plus this will prevent me from saying "ahh screw it lets go play again maybe I might get lucky". |

Originally posted by DarkPony I was extremely lucky with bags TBH, I was fully champion geared within 3 weeks of 50, I think my first 10 bags contained 8 unassembled parts. I would of traded half those items for 50% more win rate though, because getting those bags were horrible, I had more fun when I got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled 8 years ago. |

You bought a Bioware game for PvP? Ehrm, was that really a good idea? BW have always been focused on PvE and anyone checking up this game just a little before launch should have known that it is a PvE game with a few PvP options for when you just feel for something different. A lot like Wow actually, even if Wow have added more PvP options during the years it is still a PvE game. If you prefer PvP quitting the game was the right thing to do, this game just isn´t made for you. PvP will surely gets better with time but it will never become the focus of the game, PvE will always be the main thing. If you prefer PvP then you should try to find a game that is focused on it or at least that puts as much work into PvP as PvE. Different games are made for different people, that does not mean the ones that isn´t for you is bad, they just are for people that like that type of gameplay. |

I have not PvPed in this game but matching premades with pugs is a bad idea and even worse when there are level dissimilarities. Further I would not buy this game for PvP I bought it for story which is what Bioware is known for. Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

It take 72 commendations to get a PvP weapon. If you don't do the dailies and just grinded out the commendations it would take you approximatly 68.5 hours to grind the commendations to get your PvP weapons... about 272 matches or so. PvP is rather brutal in this game. Really though, I don't think you should be on even footing as someone else that has been PvPing tons more than you. Have no sympathy far as that goes. As for the rest mentioned? Yeah, fairly lame. Although anyone that followed anything about this game beforehand should have seen this coming. The writing was pretty clearly written on the wall. Doesn't make it okay but shouldn't be the least bit surprising. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by Loke666 its not that I enjoy PvP more its that I detest raiding and organization. PvP in traditional Themepark MMO's give casuals like me end game progression with out the need of organization that things like Raiding entails. I enjoy world features for the most part, and I often times spent long periods of time in SWTOr out in the world just killing elites because I found it enjoyable "FOR ME". Its as close to a game style that emulates Asherons Call as can be found in a themepark MMO.
On the flip side I am a pretty decent player and win 1v1's way more because of my skill, not to mention I enjoy min/maxing my characters, it isnt uncommon for my alts to be decked out in fully epic gear (I spent 12 hours and 100k credits on Saturday crafting and re-engineering level 21 Synthweaving gear on my 50 main for epics for my 21 Jugg) yes I know that gear would be outleveld within days but I enjoy that style of gameplay so its not a waste of my time. |

Originally posted by Kuinn Quote snipped to the meat. The level 50 bracket was added as a patch in week... 2 or 3. I don't remember. By then, PvP was already disgustingly one sided due to multiple factors included... RNG gear, commendation duping, the spawn camping on Illum, the carebear groups of Illum trading kills. I'm SURE it got a slight bit better but again, a 49 v. a 25 (even with increase stats) was extremely mismatched. Yes, some skill is involved but some of the actual SKILLS earned during that period give the 49 a very large advantage in the match. |

Originally posted by Kuinn Yea but heres the caveat and if you think otherwise then you are dillusional. 1. At 50 yes you are matched against other 50s since hte last patch but If you dont have expertise you will flail around helpless for weeks trying to get geared out to possibly compete. 2. Sub 50 is matched based on 10-49. The power difference between someone who has 31 talent points and 90% of their skills and someone who has 5 talent points and not even 25% of their skills is HUGE, not to mention the inherent advantage of soemone who has more health, crit, surge, defense, mitigation based on items. A level 10 has no helm, ear, implant, or relic going against soemone who ahs those is a huge penalty.
The games PvP should be structured on 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, and 40 to 49 at the very least. 2. |
