Games Workshop hs been like that since the 80's. Changing their figure size so that noone else's would look right in their game etc.

And the odds of a good game coming out are just getting lower "Some of the less objective people tend to be close-minded though and basically disregard any possible shortcomings that gw2 could have." |

They could try Cryptic, they are good at making MMOs quickly and with their new owners, PWE, it could be good. |

well someone say a company they can team up with??? lol no EA, no SOE... you want blizz or valve..
It doesnt matter this game will never be huge... 2 fractions... not all playable races and every time they add arace they mess with the lore..
I want my tau but how can they add them in, what sidedo they get? most companies with a brain will see that. hope it dies and someone with some ambition takes it on :) |

Most 40k fans with a brain would see that.
Let me say it again, in 40k major conflicts its always 2 sided, same with every tabletop battle, its always 2 sided. Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling" |

Again, 40k and fantasy are NOT the same thing, there NOT the same universe, and there NOT the same ip, and they have never been what you claim.
At once point the warhammer world might have been a world in the 40k universe, but thats no longer the case and even if it was, isnt what you tried to state at all.
Next time try not to make yourself look stupid.
And FYI, its called warhammer 40k because it takes place in teh year 40 000, not because it takes place 40k years after fantasy. Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling" |

I want an mmorpg where pvp matters, my enemies are not my race or class, and community matters. |

Invariably there are always more than 2 factions in a conflict. However, that being said, why in frack would you defend another lazy 2 faction model? You do get the game ruining effects of being outnumbered out talented or two factions locked in boring stalemates? People need to stop allow for mediocrity.
Regardless of what you think, 3 factions can be done, and has since 2001. You guess the game.

Or hey how about Imperium vs Chaos/Orks vs Eldar vs Tau Empire
FOUR..seriously though. Two is just going to announce to the mmorpg subscriber base that we are ONCE AGAIN looking at WoW as the corporate model.
How vanilla is that anyway? Try 100%

Originally posted by warmaster670 MMO + 2 factions = fail. Doesn't matter how close to the lore it sticks. Wow, WAR, Rift and TOR have all shown how crappy 2 faction systems work in MMOs. Why can't DMO have 8 factions and allow for player created alliances? It would be better than having another unbalanced 2 faction game. |

To those saying crap about this statement. 2 factions will not work in an MMO with open world PvP at all. They said they planned on having open world PvP. 2 factions and any open world PvP does not work, one side always out numbers the other. It may work if all PvP is instance based where you can put in equal numbers, but if PvP is all instanced it sucks. It's nice to have equal numbers but if you have over a group or two of guild members that want to PvP some members miss out on the guild groups. That and half of the MMO population can't PvP their way out of a wet paper bag and/or don't know what an objective is. In open world one side ends up dominating the other. Then the losing side always has people leave for their faction on another server where that faction already out numbers the other faction. If you happen to get onto a server where the numbers are even and there is a relatively equal amount of server control then people sometimes jump onto that server, which then lopsides the numbers. With 3 factions if one side is dominating completely the other 2 factions can (and do) team up to fight the dominating force. Then PvP will go back to open world for a while until the "zerg" or "blob" reforms. The point is, there is a way to counter the one side that gets to big. With 2 factiosn there is no way to. Fighting with just 2 sides in the table top works because you have a system that limits the army sizes. with MMO's you really don't. You can limit the number of people per side on a server, sure, but you'll have people moving to other servers when they can't play with their friends/family/guilds. There is also no real way to make sure that it is completely even numbers during that time of day. You could have 800 people per server, but at 5 PM EST there might be 200 people on for one faction and only 50 people on for the other. Some people say 2 factions worked very well in WoW, and it does, but WoW is primarily all about gear, so people just go into warfronts for PvP for the tokens for gear out of them. There is no real open world PvP in it, and when there is its just people ganking lower levels or someone fighting a group of mobs. |

Sony wont be up for getting involved with THQ, they have their own problems. Sony could well have lost nearly three billion USD last year and are undertaking a massive evaluation of all their current and up coming products.
