You might want to start a petition first to geta NA publisher before you start asking for server rules.

As it seems right now ArcheAge will not be a full loot game. While it may be possible to kill other players at will you will not be able to loot them. I started a petition to get XL Games to create a separate full loot server for the hardcore sandbox crowd. Even if you do not like full loot MMO's it would behoove you to sign this petition so that gankers will stay on there own server. Please sign this petition. http://sandboxer.org/?p=541

Good Idea starting the petition. It really crackes me up how many people can't comprehend what your asking for here.

Im personally in favor of a death system that makes players actully fear death therefore adding some excitement to the game. When there is no real death system players just rez and repeat over and over and over with no real consequence, even when fighting NPC mobs. There is no challenge and the game feels dumbed down.

While I think "full loot" is a good idea I think it should be just slightly less than full loot ..... So for instance if you die you can lose whatever Cash your carrying along with everything in your bag but the Killer only has the option to loot one piece of Armor off your body. This will force people to be smart about how they play the game and to use the bank often and it will also add the element of fear that so many games lack these days it will bring a sense of realism.

Im not a ganker nor do I like mindless gankers, honestly I like to hunt down and kill those types of players.

Those of you who DO NOT LIKE this type of SERVER the answer is simple... Dont play on it.

My guild started back in the days of UO and EQ1 we have also played Mortal Online and Darkfall and we prefer a game that presents a challenge other wise end game is just dreadfully boring. www.prophecyguild.net

Don't play on it?  lol, funny stuff there.

Every sec the devs put into a special server that is time taken away from the core game.  So that's why I won't support every little variation of server.

People like you always say the same rhetoric before a game gets released. You seem to have this fairy tale view that every employee is working on something crucial at any given minute when it's just not the case.

I have just 30+ years involved with software and engineering projects.

I would say its quite a big difference between games and other kinds of softwares, usually programmers are busy but something they do have time and i guess free time might show up even more in a bigger company with a bigger amount of coders. + This feature wouldnt be very hard to implement.

What's with the obession with full loot. It only works in games where equipment is easily obtainable. It won't work well in a game where there's gear you have to work somewhat hard to obtain. It'll just lead to a lot of raging. What could work though is that if you kill someone their body would yield some random loot, but not from their own belongings.

And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

Well some people like it that way, you cant say it doesnt work because you dislike the idea. I wont participate in it but many of the forum posts here are from people supporting the idea so obviously there is a interest in it.

While not full that does not mean that players drop nothing.

Construction materials, Land claim tokens and "certain high value loot items" are carried on the players back. Obvious from a distance the item is being carried, the player is slowed to walk speed and cannot teleport while carrying these items. So an obvious target and unless escorted fairgame for all.

Notice the glowing egg on the one chars back;  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV-vwtVTmXo

You just cannot take all the players, armor, weapons, broken bear teeth etc... BUT you can take something that does indeed matter!

It's not that I dislike the idea, but games where I've seen full loot prevalent had gear that was easy to obtain/craft. Thus being killed and looted brought annoyance instead of flat out anger. I played UO, and absolutely enjoyed it. Every now and then I even go and play some private servers. There wasn't really any gear progression. Gear in UO was fairly easy to obtain. So full loot wasn't at all problematic. However having full loot in a game where there is gear progression, either through PvP and PvE, where some fellow can just roll up and kill you for your hard earned loot will simply have majority of the playerbase quitting.

I can guarantee you that those wishing for full loot are the vocal minority. Personally, it really depends on the context for me. If gear is something easily obtainable and craftable, then sure why not. Otherwise, if it's the case where I'm farming out a sword drop in an instance, only to be killed for it outside the instance, thus rendering my effort moot, then no, I wouldn't like the idea.

ArcheAge is not a game where you lock yourself inside an instance to farm gear. You want gear, you gotta craft it or loot it from mobs, in the OPEN WORLD. In fact the game has no instances, all the CBT3 instances were removed (except the BG), and hopefully it will stay that way.

This kind of comment is quite interesting though, it shows that some players take instances for granted, as something that should be in MMOs.  Might be why we've been getting the same theme park games with minor originality over the last years?

As for full loot, it would be interesting to ponder why people want it. Imo, it's because it adds meaning and impact to death. But is it really necessary to have full loot to give meaning to death? I'm expecting the devs to be more original and find better ideas, just like they have been doing so far.

I like full loot, but I think a good compromise is random drop from backpack and or all of their carried money.

Ah, I didn't know they removed instances. That's quite interesting. Instances have just been so commonplace nowadays that it's hard to imagine a game without them. I'm curious how dungeons will work though. While I'm open-minded, the concept of instances solved much of the issues involving open world dungeons. Nonetheless, I'll keep an eye out to see how they'll do things.

Good God, I can't even believe some of the responses to this post regarding full loot pvp. Even the mere mention of FFA pvp is enough to scare people away. Now I realize there are those that don't care. The company that is releasing the game, on the other hand, most certainly does care. I also care because I would love for there to be a successful sandbox game that doesn't occur in a spaceship

I have noticed EvE brought up several times. Yes, EvE does have full loot PvP. Eve also has maybe 300k subs max. EvE is also the most established and profitable sandbox MMO to date...with only 300k subs max. For all those who have played the game, the grand majority of the playerbase doesn't even play in the areas of space which is full on full loot pvp. Granted, you can always get suicide ganked in high sec or have to deal with a war dec in high sec but for the most part, pvp in EvE happens in low and null sec. Speaking of low sec, low security space in EvE is like the lawless region...it's also laughably underpopulated. So much so that the playerbase that chooses to waste their time...err I mean reside there always complains on the forums that CCP should do something to have more people spend time in low sec. The problem is the corps (the guilds of EvE) and people that operate in low sec act like Somali Death Squads. They see you, you die. Every time. Knowing this, the majority of the playerbase stays away. So even for a game with full loot pvp, the majority of the playerbase chooses not to play by those rules.

As for the petition, as much as I would like to think the wolves would all congregate on the FFA loot server, from my experience I highly doubt it

While much players are acting in the manner you speak not everyone is agressive, i recently started living in low and nullsec. Low sec people are often more unpleasant than the null sec ones yet i find that many high sec players are worst, they trashtalk and flame just because they are relatively safe in highsec. The subscriber count is probably more around 350k and then you should also consider that the game is very very slow and also sci fi which I believe a high amount of players dont really like.

Either way I dont really know how hard it is to grind the gear in AA but Im fairly sure that with just minor adjustments full loot could be made a viable choice for the people that wants it. Ofc the interest in the idea has to be measured in some way in order for the company to take the chance.

I would love a full loot server... *drools*

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.

The only way I would sign a Full-loot petition is if the items in the game are easy to get, easy to make. Anotherwords, the game cannot be 'object-oriented' like most modern MMOs. I don't wanna have to work through raids to earn special armor just to have some asshats take it from me.

Full loot worked in UO because almost everything was generic, run-of-the-mill crap. If you lost it, it was reletively easy to rearm yourself.

I know very little about this aspect of the game, so I ask....how important is gear and items in this game? If all your crap gets jacked, does that really, seriously screw someone over?

Lets repeat what OP said because you obviously didnt care to read: SEPARATE FULL LOOT SERVER

That means even if it WAS accepted you wouldnt have to play there.

Would there even be enough people willing to play such a server to warrant its creation?

Is it only me who thinks that being able to loot every single item off someone after you killed them is the dumbest idea ever in the history of MMORPGs? Just saying...
