SWTOR is dead, mass exodus, poor graphis,...etc. etc. etc. This is all I hear. I guess I must be the only one who feels like this: When I started SWTOR I did not like it that much. I am an old school mmo player. SWTOR is not the open world of SWG pre-nge damn them to hell! Well it is Star Wars so I bought the game and figured I would have a month or two at best. First couple weeks I thought it was ok but something did not feel right. I would play an hour here or there but that was it. Then I started leveling a bit higher and found I was logging in longer and longer periods of time. My main is a Jedi knight guardian but he was taking it on the chin a lot. Then I got Doc! My whole experience with my Jedi changed I could really take it to the empire. Then a patch came and add AA and fixed a few graphic glitches and the game looked way better. I started to want to explore a lot more then just do quests. I decided to roll a imperial bounty hunter and followed the dark force and I mean real dark and it was a blast. The more I play SWTOR the more I like it and see the brilliant game Bioware made. I needed to stop wanting it to be what it was not or what I wanted it to be. I gave into what Bioware made and found I love the game. I seem to be one of the only players who likes it the more I play it. All I hear is it was fun for a week but now I am bored. SWTOR as slowly emerged out of the shadows and hooked me. I am pleased so far at the updates and patches that have been added and see great things for the future of the game. I kept two other subscriptions active since I figured I would not stay long in SWTOR but a few days ago I cancelled my subs and have been focusing on only SWTOR and I am having a great time. Am I the only one?

Yes, you are. Why could this not have been posted in one of the 8000000 other "stay" or "cancelling" threads. And I note that you haven't mentioned (or purposely ignored) the MAJOR bugs in game which people are showing were reported in BETA an still exist.
P.S. I'm glad you like the game. But since you just got Doc, you have a bit of a way to go. You're what... just over 30? |

I didn't like it much up to about lvl15. After that it got alot more fun and I really enjoyed lvl20-45. Last levels were a bit less fun cause the story part felt like it ended just after lvl40 and the last story bits felt added last minute. Then I hit lvl50 and it took about a week before I quit. Simply cause I ran out of content. I don't wanna level an alt and I don't wanna farm Flashpoints that are of alot worse quality than Dungeons I'm used to from other MMO games. Crafting was somewhat fun, but when you realize it's absolutely useless for lvl50 the fun of it ends. That there was absolutely no sandbox content to play around with was the final nail in the coffin. Enjoy it while it lasts, cause I don't see any chance for em to keep new interesting content coming out in the same pace that even casuals play this game. |

I just reached 50 in my SI and now I can definetly say this game rocks for me :), love it, at 50 there is still a huge amount to do, enjoyed every bit of it, my /played shows almost 300 hours, that is good value for whatever form of entertainment, still got to go through the huge amount of end game content *wooti* It may not be for everyone, never expected it to be but I am having a blast.

Originally posted by Ikeda If me posting my feeling about SWTOR in this way bothers you why respond? Why did I not mention the bugs? Simple, I am talking about why I started liking the game. I never said there were not problems I am talking about the fact I stuck out the game and like it more and more. I mentioned that so far I am happy with the fixes that have been coming out and that evidence makes me believe it will continue. This is not fanboy or troll post just trying to explain that I like it the more I play it something not to many others seem to feel. This is not a deep critique of the game. I do have a way to go I am only level 42 on my main and have 4 other toons in the 20s. Never said it was a perfect game just say'n I am starting to really like it. |

Don't listen to the trolls. A lot of us like the game a great deal... This site is not the place to go for us though. It is mainly inhabited by MMO-burnouts who can't seem to enjoy any game. That's why pretty much every forum here is dominated by negativity. I find it seriously depressing trying to discuss anything here these days... |

I respond for the same reason I posted in the original thread. You could/should have posted on one of the other 8000000 threads on the topic. You obviously feel like your opinion (which you admit isn't indepth) warrants its own post. So you've set yourself up for every person who disagrees to let it be known. |

I agree OP, I started to love this game when I played what they had created and not what I wanted from it, if that makes any sense. It's easy to complain and gripe about what a game didn't have that you thought it would, heck sadly, we human have been doing that with all manner of issues in this last decade and is one of the major causes of depression and being cynical, etc. The key is to accept what we get and be glad we have anything at all and live in the moment and BOOM, instant satisfaction and entertainment. |

This is a forum. People have the priviledge to post thier feelings, good or bad, about a game. This is what MMORPG is about. I read the countless hate threads and love fests concerning this game. I may not agree with the content of the posts but I do not condone anyone's right to post their comments. I'm glad you are enjoying the ride, have fun. That IS what it's all about.

Originally posted by Ikeda I have not seen 800000 threads taking about the experience that I am having growing in the game. Link the 800000 threads so then I will see I am not alone. This is an open mmo forum so no I do not feel my opinion is special or demands your attention just killing a little time with something that suprised me, that I like the game the more I play it. Check the years I have been here and my number of posts. I understand how the forums work and that you get negative responses. You are not enlightening me to anything new. |

SW:TOR is a great game, where game is the keyword here. It is however it is a very mediocre MMORPG, devoid of any good MMORPG features. Flashpoints are essentially large instanced quests for maximum of 4(!) people. Warfronts are pointless and meh so is Illum. World PvP is even more pointless and almost non existant. Raids are well just your random raids with almost no innovation. Housing is your instanced solo ship which you cannot change in any way (except mount bigger guns). Space is a solo experience. There is litterally not one single feature in this game catering to more than 20 people, beside Illum which we all know how well is implemented. However as just a game it is quite fun. I am still enjoying my class storylines and having fun developing my NPC companions but am I really playing an MMO? Not in my opinion. |

See ya after 1 or 2 months searching for an mmo cause right now all you play is a single player with irc.Soon you will see the true light. Swtor is for loners not for party animal guys. One day you will remeber those words. |

The game needs more players like you, and lots of them. Enjoy! |

Originally posted by Yamota Much of what you say is true. That is why at first I did not like it that much. I do place it in the genre of mmos not mmorpg it is more of a single player action game with other players but still an mmo in my opinion. Like I said, once I got over my wanting it to be a better swg I started really liking it. The greatness of SWTOR as an mmo is arguable but it sure is a great game well worth the price of admission. I sure would like better player housing and that could be added without changing the story driven game style Bioware used. |

Originally posted by Zefire I have grouped while leveling a lot more than you ever would in most themeparks. For me, The Old Republic feels like a coop rpg. Flashpoints are truly challenging and fun when duoing them with friends and family. You spend a lot of time in small groups for pve and pvp. Vast numbers of players together are only seen on the stations. You spend most of the time with just your buddies. |

There are plenty of people that are enjoying this game. The game is called divisive for a reason, if everyone hated it, it wouldn't be very divisive :). |

Originally posted by Zefire I actually group a lot in SWTOR more then I have in any other mmo except WOW. I played WOW for 7 years and was a hardcore raider. I do not have as much time now so I am forced to solo a lot so SWTOR suites my play style. Great solo play and easy group play when I want it. Much like both RIFT (A great game) and WAR. The mmo world and players have changed since 1996 Meridian 59 my first mmo. Has it changed for the better? Yes I think it has but for sure my time has changed so more solo friendly mmos interest me more then they did 10 years ago. I am still waiting for the great open world mmo like pre-nge SWG my favorite mmo ever. However I like having high quality soloable mmos like SWTOR. |

I have problems with the game..but I am right there with Eccoton. It's MickyD's....I'm loving it. |
