Probably the ones with the most significance believe it or not are the presence ones because outside of stims or selecting abilities in your talent tree there really isn't a way to increase that far as I have seen besides leveling. ...and frankly boosting presence even by a few points seems to be rather significant with how well your companion can do. Moreso than equipment seems to do for them from what I have seen. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. I think they went overboard. On the start planet, the datacrons are fairly easy to get if you explore. They are a reward for wandering off the beaten track, for looking around. Basically you are the squirrel having to find the route to the nut. But the one on Nar Shadaa with all the jumping? That just is no fun. To many jumps and no safety net that stops you having to start from the beginning say halfway. Ever heard of a game called Tomb Raider? It wasn't just big because of the titties, it was big because it was the first platform game that did not require micro-precission jumping. I know, I SUCK at thosetype of games but enjoyed and completed Tomb Raider while having fun and enjoying it. It seems pretty clear to me that the datacrons were setup by different designers. Ideas were shared by the short ride on the Nar Shaddaa vs the Tatooine balloon ride shows one designer got laid and the other did not. MMO's are mass market games and should be fun to play. If a game is not fun anymore, people stop playing it. Nobody cares in a single player game since you already voted FOR the game when you bought it but in MMO land you can vote with your dollars each and every month. People aren't going to quit over datacrons but datacrons could well be the straw the broke the camels back for many a subscriber down the road. |

These are the equivalent of easter eggs with a minor stat bonus, why does it matter what they make you do to get them? I think this was a great idea, and the fact that they are "hard" to find/obtain in some instances is a positive, not a negative. Just an FYI, at lvl 26 I haven't found a single one yet and don't notice the absence at all. I may go back and collect them at some point, but am casually going through the story now and in no hurry or need to min/max. |

The datacrons are a platformer's dream and my night mare rolled into one. Some of the datacrons are far too frustrating to be believe. Yes, I know that the datacrons are not significant but I am a completionist. |

I stopped getting datacrons on Taris. If I would have come across any during my travels, I would have attempted to loot them, but I simply never saw any and felt no motivation to seek them out. I'm just waiting on raid guilds to require my having all datacrons before I can raid, so I can complain about the system being too similar to LotRO's crappy deed/trait system, but only time will tell if they become that important. |

Hahahahaha.
Seriously, not a major issue. Some are a pain to get to, some take teamwork. All give a bonus which may or may not be important enough for you. The point is to give reward for the time and effort spent. Spent the time, get a reward, dont want to spend the time, don't get a reward. As for alts, yes you have to get on each. I find the alts easier to get since I know where to go, and how to do it. First time thru may have taken me 35 min to get it, next alt its a 5 min grab while I'm running past doing a quest there. Really isn't an issue.
Here is one of the sites I use to get them, look, read, see for yourself. And hey, I'm over 40 (OLD), not a platformer, and I can do these without much trouble. If I can do it I'm sure all you young whipper-snappers can (shakes cane).
