Have to agree with you wholeheartedly on that last statement.  Just wish a developer would have the balls and man up and create a real MMO where players depend on team work throughout.

It's not that "people will resub for a title". It's more that some of the people who were thinking about quitting now and maybe coming back later might want to wait another month just to not lose the title, so having preordered and and not being a "founder".

BTW, this shows they are rolling in milions of subscribers (/irony).

It is for the people that already were going to sub anyway. Which is the majority of players at this moment. You really think someone would resub just for a title?

You will be suprised by how many people will resub just for a title, people are suckers for fluff and this is proven by the amount of money game companies make by selling ingame fluff items like pets, mounts etc etc.

What I am saying is that no one is going to re-sub for the title that was not going to re-sub in the first place.

I know all about fools and their money. I live in the USA.

And I wasnt clear it seems, but with this latest fluff (title) that BW are offering,  people will resub just for that title whether they intended to or not, as a some people intended to go back later once BW got their crap sorted, but will now resub just for that title.

SWTOR might of failed as a game, but the humor in its wake is nearly priceless.

The only reason this game is marginally popular is to give dumb Ars's the ability to weild different colored glow sticks / rifles / blasters / cannons, etc (ooooohhhh... based on light / dark side choices) at each other.

If you can't see this clearly spelled out with examination of their customer service and lame explanations of problems then you truly deserve to be bilked out of x$ per month.

Sorry but I could care less about a meaningless title.  You are truly free to spend your hard earned $ however you see fit but if you can't see the marketing spin behind this then you deserve to throw money down the drain.. lol.

That sent a red flag up for me. That statement alone is what I've heard for years in WoW guess VO's can't remove all of the themepark gear treadmill designs after all hehe. Your of the mark, its more about their timing, 1 day from 1st lot of resubs. I wont be suprised and i'm sure many others wont be either, but I'm sure a lot of people cancelled their subs as they didnt want a recurring subscription, i'm also expecting a lot of players not returning due to the lack of pvp thats on offer, 3 warzones of which Huttball pops 8/10, Ilum is a joke, I'm on a pvp server and anytime I run into an enemy player they just run away, wtf is that about?  PvP gear looks terrible,  I could go on and thats not even touching on the pve or crafting side of things.

What can i say? I woke up this morning... after getting my Cup of Coffee and light up my Cigarette, i started Thunderbird. The Topic of the Mail was something like "get your Foundertitle" and i though "oh, thats nice. Getting a Title, cause i did the Preorder n stuff". But after reading the full Mail, i start laughing and deleted the Mail instantly ;-)

Don't get me wrong, I was a supporter of the game, up until this morning, I still was.  But Bioware screwed up.  Bad. Real Bad.  Not just on PVP, but they proved they don't have the balls to take action, or refuse to take responsibility for these screw ups. 

There's a lot more wrong than just the massive PVP issue, which is what's getting all the attention right now. 

I think it is just bad timeing, and bad taste.  Then again, good on them for trying, but they'll need a lot more than a sh*tty "Founder" title to get a lot of people to resub to the game.

The game is down once again to fix PVP. Something I dont give a damn about. There is multiple teams working on this game. PVP is one, along with the stuff the OP is complaining about, not to mention PVE content.

So your PVP is being fixed, along with various other things to add to the game. Titles being one such thing.

I tell ya though....rather than fixing PVP, I wish they would remove it. Hopefully if enough if ya ragequit, they will do exactly that.

I agree, admitting defeat in the PvP aspect of MMORPGs and instead focusing resources on what they know best, would probably be the best way to keep subscriptions.

If this works BW would be stupid not to do it. Business as usual. Furthermore, if someone is ready to pay 15 bucks for the sole reason of getting a title, then it is worth it to him. People are spending much more than this on nonsense like  getting drunk every saterday evening. Go figure

Almost all mmos have been doing things like this, with veteran points and other useless trinkets (EQ2, AOC, Lotro, Wow, etc.....).

Then you have the people spending 100+ bucks on collector editions... many don't even care for the hard goods, they just want the ingame trinkets and titles. Who would want to spend their money on this?

Because other MMO's introduced these titles and didn't require you to subscribe to the game. You earned them by participating in Beta, pre-ordering the game and buying the Retail!
