I should think EA should demote all the BW dev that are involved and bring in some specialist from other EA sub - company. If this thing continue to go on a lot of people would lose their job. Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :) |

I am really suprised that Game companies keep making the same simple mistakes. I wonder if there is some different motive for the companies, so what we see as mistakes are actually profits for the company (ie like creating a loss in one division, to off set profits in another, etc).

I actually liked their response. It's a pity Illum wasn't really ready at release, but I think they are on the right track with giving more of a reward per kill to players on the team that owns the most objectives. Hopefully they will get Illum worked out soon.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

If they aren't rolling back valor and aren't going to place a valor cap and implement diminishing returns there, they missed the point. The amount of valor that can be farmed in Ilum, outside of teh enemy base is out of whack. Right now I don't even really care. I only casually PVPed but was hopeful they would fix other areas. Anything short of a rollback and revamp is a mistake
BW already disappointed me with their design decisions. Leveling up was such a great experience. Everything else has been a major mistake by them. |

The game's engine is a complete joke and that's the main reason I cancelled for now. They might be able to fix ilum eventually, but how are they going to deal with the failure that is their core engine?
That's what I want to know, and I'm sad this site and other review sites have overlooked it so badly and refuse to tell their reader's about game breaking issues. |

I sit here now and I think of the past. I realize how similar , yet how different Rift's own launch was when 1.1 was realeased.
They both had class balancing issues, they both had PvP issues, and they both had end game PvE bugs that plagued progression.
However, it is how each company handled the situtation that makes me realize the difference. Bioware has dismissed player concerns and feedback from the test servers, omitted or failed to address problems that were game breaking, and has repeatably tried to censor and control the perception of its game (going as far as banning whole EA accounts). Trion wasn't perfect in their language either, but they admitted their faults and told EXACTLY how they were going to fix Rift's problems with indepth discussion n their forums. They are the fastest in the industry at delivering patches and new content, and have encouraged player feedback from test servers.
This is my personal conclusion and opinion, but it just FEELS like Bioware is disconnected and untrustworthy, kinda of like a big bank; where Trion FEELS like your local credit union, still a bank, but you feel as if you know the people there and actually believe what they say.
Since this is about a video game (a product of media, art, and culture) feelings about it as a product determine wether it is successful or it fails. And right now, ToR is failing. |

I find it funny that they deny the turret exploit.... |

I'm eagerly awaiting for the MMO Public to get over the shiney new mmo syndrome and come back to reality. When Bioware starts making a habit out of this (which they will), we'll see how many people really thing SWTOR will be the game to watch in 2012. |

Angier, I find it funny that you still think the turret exploit ever existed.
The guy that posted that nonsense must be one ofthe most successful trolls ever. You all bit because you were blinded by hate for the game. You were looking for anything to jump on to point to and say was a failure. I logged in as soon as the servers came up today. Went to Ilum shortly after. We ended up spawncamping an killing the turrets. There was no insane turret valor. None. You are mistaken if you think there was. By thinking there was it is clear to me that you dont even play the game, or at least never went to Ilum and checked for yourself. I DID. No exploit. Imagination is fun though. You guys have shown how easily fooled you are today. You have shown that you don't need any kind of proof of anything to start ranting about it. You have shown that you are eagerly awaiting anything to use o bash this game, even complete an total lies. Then you label anyone who tells you the truth as a fanboy. It's quite entertaining actually. I've noticed a few (very few) posters around here that really hate the game, but weren't taken in by this foolish trolling. All of those people just got +1 million Internet points in my opinion. Shadow's Hand Guild The Secret World - Dragons Planetside 2 - Terran Republic Tera - Dragonfall Server |

Astonishing how buthurt people get over a game. Envy is surging as well.
On our server Empire took control of Republic base but only once for like 20 min in the few evening hours I've been there. Turrets went down but I didn't notice any special gain. The only special gain was from killing a lot of people. Most of the time battles were at entrance choke points, just out of reach of turrets as they were sloughtering Empire as much as Empire Zerg sloughtered Republic.
Sad Lemmings should stop crying about something they read on internet without any proves. |

Originally posted by dubyahite Just to get it out the way, I never believed turrets gave valor. That said, how can a republic player being spawn camped check if turrets gave valor or not? They can't kill their own turrets. I'll of course stay sub'd to the game because it still has its potential. The developers need to get a bit more in touch with the game however in my opinion, they took far to long to respond. It really was the worst time for this to happen as well giving we are only a couple of days from resub time. |

Seems like they fix all their problems by taking the "massive" out of mmorpg. |

Originally posted by cyress8 That was the biggest joke of all! Remember the Sieges fiasco in Age of Conan? Only that game had the actual graphics to boast abbout! SW:TOR took the same "stylished" (read cartoonish) graphics approach as WoW and yet 7 years later, not come even close to it's capabilities! 6 years ago when I played WoW, I organised regular RP and PVP world events on my RP-PVP server with over 200 people participating each and every time! Except for the usual clutter and ocassional lagspike (when too much fighting was going on lol), it was fun and both server and client were able to handle it! SW:TOR seems not even able to handle 40-50 people on a screen, before it melts down. So now they have close down Ilum till further notice and put a population cap on this planet! Which means later on, when more and more people reach level50, a lot of people will constantly be locked out of Ilum, not able to participate. Sounds to me like they are basically turning Ilum into just another Warzone. /roflcopter
The fact that it took them over 8 hours to craft this so called "official" response, calling player yet again liars (just like with the HighRes texture fiasco), try rubbing the problem under the rug.... they are on desperate Damage Control mode alright! |

Originally posted by JeroKane I believe the population cap will make it so Ilum (1), Ilum (2) Ilum (3) etc start up. Which isn't good for open world pvp. It is an extremely lazy way of handling the issue. I often wonder how developers cannot see whats comming when every player can. |

Originally posted by Distopia yeah cause thats what most pvp'rs do......pray on the weaker one who dont have a chance to start defending itself at the spawning spot.....these kind of pvp'rs make me sick. ps: they prefer to hit the spawning spot with about 2 guys (and two or three others hidden or standing back to heal).....realy pvp is all about the rep and gear for most. In the old days we did pvp for the challenge and when we defeated someone we buffed them up after he got rezzed....back in those days PK'rs were rare.....now 80% of the "pvprs' are actually pk'rs in open world pvp. IMHO keep the pvp'rs in their BG's and let them grind eitchother all they want.

Originally posted by JeroKane This is yet another biased reply . Ever thought it's mostly about how good computer you have? I played WoW when there was Taren Mill - South Shore zerging going on and it was pretty unplayable. When Alterac Valey came out and for a while untill I upgraded my computer, 40v40 cluster fuck gave very bad performance. I had no lag/fps problems outside tho.
On Ilum yesterday at one point I saw 122 Imperial players and I can only estimate but I'd say about 60-70 Republic players. Performance with computer I have atm was laggy for sure, but definitely better than what I had in WoW years ago.
Anyway, my point being this experience is different for each player and if you're very sensitive about it, you can solve the problem by buying a top gaming computer. if for some reason you don't than it's no one else to blame but yourself. Except ofc if you have some incompatibility issues, etc.. which is "world wide" problem and by far not just SW specific. As I sarcasticaly pointed out in my previous post in here, good luck playing those superb games that offer 100+ v 100+ battles with hundreds of spells, effects, modern graphics and no lag/fps problems.
Not to mention this game is released for 1 month and unless you have your eyes shut due to whatever reason (coughthatecough) it's obvious Bioware is working hard and showing results. They are not perfect tho, like no human being is and errors are expected.
Now as much as I wish these problems were not existant and our gaming experience would be perfect but sadly out world doesn't work like that. And as much as I'm sure about this, I'm also sure bitching and pointing and crying on gaming forums is not a step forward for our civilisation.
But I guess that's a bit too much for an average gamer to understand. |

I knew this was biowares first mmo, but I never thought they will handle the game so bad. Every time I login here I see topics about various problems players have... Is it that bad? Before the game was released this was the most common argument why people should play swtor: it's star wars and IT'S BIOWARE. Seems like people have changed their minds about them? |
