Just received an email from EA/Bioware offering founding membership: http://www.swtor.com/info/founders?sourceid=eag3396 Which says and I quote" As a 'thank you' to everyone who helped make Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ one of the most successful MMO launches in history, we are rewarding early members of The Old Republic with a unique Founder's Medal and "Founder" Title! Have a guess how you qualify for this title: "Billed at least once for an active Star Wars: The Old Republic subscription". Yup. It was not good enough that I preordered and bought the game to qualify as a founding member. I have to pay for at least one additional month. What a money grab. I don't know about you people but this kind of blatant grab for cash makes me fume. Thank goodness I unsubs from this game before my month was up. |

Jesus, don't overreact... It's just a title for those who sub in the first few months, that's all there is to it... I'm off to bed, but I strongly recommend you don't waste more of your time with this. |

The monty grab is standard operating proceedure for MMOs and such.. it's their timing that is off. I get most people are renewing in the next few days, but they just let a game breaking... nah ... game KILLING patch destroy what little value PVP had in the game. Had this not all happend in this time window, people would probably thing a silly title would be cool. But considering they were having such a mass amount of canceled subs flooding through they outright HID the cancel options in the account page, (Looks like they removed the thread on the official forums about it.. ha)
Don't get me wrong, I was a supporter of the game, up until this morning, I still was. But Bioware screwed up. Bad. Real Bad. Not just on PVP, but they proved they don't have the balls to take action, or refuse to take responsibility for these screw ups. There's a lot more wrong than just the massive PVP issue, which is what's getting all the attention right now. I think it is just bad timeing, and bad taste. Then again, good on them for trying, but they'll need a lot more than a sh*tty "Founder" title to get a lot of people to resub to the game.
(And for the record, I did cancel today in protest, and again, I was a player and supporter of this game, had high hopes, but they continue to choose to ignore 15 years of MMO history in every dip-sh*t decision they make.)

No I'm pretty sure this is not a joke. I got an e-mail about it. Not really a big deal. You are trying too hard to be different. Just QQ about the usual crimes against humanity that BW has committed like all the other doom and gloom folks.

It's really staying. "Sub even though you played our single player MMO and all it has to offer ,and you will get a medal & title to show others how special you are" *rolls eyes* You've got to be a brainless consumer to pay a sub just for this fluff if you were going to cancel. They must know the cancel button going to get hit a lot rolling this out as they have. Well if they didn't take the community tools and M out of MMO things might have more life when people have been lead to the end of the game by the game and not by their own path. |

It must be working. All these people who canceled are getting all worked up about it. Must mean they really really really don't want to miss out on that title.

We beat the hardmodes and a few nightmare modes. Im in full 136 with a few 140 pieces on I have Valour Rank 68. I'm bored. didn't resub tonight. It was a great storyline themepark game to play for a month, I feel like I got my moneys worth. Now I will just sit back and go back to playing Anarchy Online and a few single players when boredom strikes from reality. I'm sure the game will have a lot more to offer in a year or so, I'll likely try it again then. TwitchTV:NeokiLIVE |

I just couldnt justify paying 15$ more for a dumbed down console rpg called an epic mmo. I can play some older SW's games on the PS or PC and not pay a monthly fee. This game in my opinion is no true mmo, just a single player game thats no better than a console rpg. Cant believe they got rid of SWG for this junk. Atleast SWG even with its flaws was a much better, more in dpeth, and a real mmo. Sorry to those TOR fans, but think everyone lost sight what a mmo is and should be. |
