what does gwamm mean? Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats. |

"PLANING" been the key word here... so I reckon another month and we might see something... but I'm stilling waiting for the Media to go in and hopfully the NDA will be lifted and we get to see "Hopfully" a near finished game with top game play!! like TB the yogscast or Jesse Cox... that would be awsome... SOOO stinging for this game... But I'm not going to over hype myself just incase... still excited though!!!! |

It's not that hard, you gain most stuff whilst playing through the campaigns. And if you do not do the same thing over and over again, but mix it..cleaning one area for the vanquishing title (remember to take the Zaishen quest), a quick Morostov/Quinkai run for the Faction titles, trapping Zaishen-Elite, and doing the Zaishen mission and bounty (which makes you go into the dungeons) and you do a lot of titles and gain a lot of money - with the later you can buy stuff like sweets or beverage and the mini pets. The hardest grind is if you want to get every glob of ectoplasma dropped which you use for the Obsidian armor, but everything else.. Cartography somewhat, but you easily end up with 95% when done with vanquishing. Survivor can be bought or combined with farming obsidian shards you need anyways (for the HoM, obsidian armor) in the fissure of woe. Each run is about 100k. So 11 runs. Less if you take scrolls or clean everything, but it's faster just doing what has to be done instead of killing everything. The single most motivating thing for me was, having other people around who need stuff, too. You end up doing everything, all over the place, which leads to a more interesting time. Don't forget that some titles are account wide, and stuff like sweets or Z-keys can be transfered, you do not need to do everything with one char, not for GWAMM and even less for the HoM (which is completely account wide). -- About that open beta news: Heh, i already forgot that interview again, seeing that is was originally posted on the 12th. I'd love an open beta, but at this stage, her answer does not mean a thing. "planning has begun". How long will the planning take? It is like "hey guys, open beta next week?" "sure". Or do they want to fix the bugs first, extended discussions, maybe deciding whats actually going to be in there etc.? And even if it's the first type of planning, maybe the question was "hey guys, open beta later this year?" , or "open beta, week before release?". I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high |

I'm losing interest in this one fast. I remember when they promised minimal instancing and awesome pvp. Now all I hear about is instanced pvp and once a week faction wars. |

WvWvW or "faction wars" (they are really "server" wars) will occur every two weeks. PvP is, however, instanced. It's difficult to have a DE system with open, world PvP. Maybe the next iteration by Arenanet (or some other game) can figure out the intricacies of having both systems in an open world.

NOT EVERY 2 weeks. They will LAST 2 weeks and then start new round. |

"Every two weeks, three worlds are matched together for a battle.[2] The match-up favors matching worlds of similar strength or ranking. A world's rank increases as it wins more often.[3] During combat there is no direct way for these worlds to communicate with each other.[4]"

Originally posted by Kakkzooka Then that article needs clarification to prevent such misconceptions. The battles last 2 weeks and then the servers are rematched. They are not short battles. The WvWvW is essentially open world PvP with it's own dynamic events ect. and will be available at ALL times for all players (once they reach Lion's arch, which can be straight after the tutorial). |

Kakkzooka, you can rest in peace. GW2 will have awesome PvP action both instanced and non-instanced.
The difference to your run-of-the-mill "PvP" MMO is that you will be facing normalized enemies, whose gear and level are equal to your own. No ganking lowbies. Only your skills as a player and your team's ability to play together as a team will determine the winner.

Originally posted by MrBoots Sorry to hear your version of 'awesome pvp' is stabbing some guys in the back while they try and play the game. It must be if your complaint is that PvP is 'limited' to WvWvW (NOT once a week, the servers are rematched fortnightly, they're permenantly ongoing) and competetive PvP for heavily team based action.
I won't miss anyone who thinks ganking PvE'rs to exercise some superiority complex (as it is always picking on weaker players) if 'awesome' :p
Note to everyone: If you're losing interest in the game, it's likely due to 2 reasons: a) you've misunderstood something, like this guy. b) you're overhyping the game so much you're getting burned out. Go play ToR or something and come back for open beta. |
