I think i finnaly found my main character, the Sniper! I have made a level 17 Gunslinger and I have to say I enjoy the compainions and story with the Sniper a lot more then with the Gunslinger. I'm sorry Corso was a bad. Although it seems both classes share identical abilites, I feel the Sniper fits my role as a player in SWTOR. The Gunslinger does not fit the rough tough bar fighting persona I belive it to be. Thanks for reading see you in game. [Mod Edit] |

The major problem with the smuggler is, the first few companions you get are, not so great. Corso is the worst,, and its just compounded on by not being able to turn off his pull ability.
They make sure to give you a wookie afterwards, but essentially both companions you start with are tanks, while the first companion you get on the agent is amazingly strong DPS. You only get really good DPS on the smuggler when you get Risha, and shes a long way off in your story.
There are also some other advantages to being an agent over a smuggler, such as certain abilities that do the same thing, but have a shorter cast time or lower cooldown (currently a known bug).
In my opinion though, the smuggler story really picks up in the mid 20s and has been the most enjoyable... lots of funny parts and somewhat unexpected turns. Definitely worth the play through. |

I played the smuggler in beta and really couldn't get into the story (trying to get your ship back in a stupid runaround) and the companion. I decided to give Agent a go when game went live and enjoy it so much more. The agent story is really great and is the one thing that is making me consider actually subbing for a month to finish it off. |

Agent is what I've been playing. I've been an operative though as opposed to a sniper. Either way, I've enjoyed the story a lot. |

Originally posted by maskedweasel Kaliyo is a tank, not a DPS. Vector is the first DPS companion you get, which isn't until you're in the 20's. Been playing an operative since release and having quite a bit of fun. The story is great, although at this point in it I really, REALLY have grown to hate the Sith...

I tried the agent to level 24. The storyline was just so damn boring. Hunting terrorists were "yawn" inducing.
The sith inquisitor on the other hand has a much better storyline in my opinion. Starting as a slave being treated like shit while slowly becoming one of the most powerful force users in the empire was a story I could relate to much more. Not to mention Khem just being one badass companion that eats force users.

I'm at 46 with my Op and the class missions still have that 007 feel. Minipulating planets, digging up conspiracys, plenty of cover ups and the dialog and voice acting is outstanding. I didn't get the Han solo feel from the smuggler either. It's all the other standard missions that are weak, same kill 3 pack or 4 pack npcs with optional bonus. I swear if it wasn't for the class quest I never would have made it to 30. I'm with you poster who was feed up with the sith, you get sick of the same old pompous ego crap. You can be evil or show another side without that. |

The Agent storyline is great although it's not very Star Wars like. Plus I love the female voice actor. Biggest problem I have is the playstyle of the Operative. It is just way too clunky for my liking. I play rogue/assassin type classes in almost all of my games so I wanted something similar to that for my first play through here. I'm finding it tough to slog through with her though. Especially when coming from playing the AoC Assassin, the Operative feels like I'm playing in molasses. |

Originally posted by DJJazzy I have to agree on the playstyle. I went Operative because I thought I'd enjoy the Stealth tree, but it really didn't feel right and seemed kinda sluggish compared to the Sith Assassin for example. I recently re-spec'd to the healing tree...and it doesn't seem much better. I'd like to think that I just haven't found the right spec for me with this class, but so far the playstyle seems clunky compared to the other classes I've used. |

I went Jedi Consular Shadow and here are my thoughts after hitting 50 1. Pretty bland storyline ;/ ;/ ;/ 2. IMO the worst looking ship ;/ ;/ ;/ 3. Worst looking gear ;/; /; /
I tried a Sith Inquis and nearly cried, why you may ask. The storyline as stated for the inquis was much more "awe" inspiring. As a Jedi Consular, I felt like I was everyones lapdog just being used and abused with feeling on really no purpose. With the inquis I actually "felt" like a powerful force user. After this conclusion you know what I did. I unsubbed. I did not want to lvl another character to 50 then have to relevel up to pvp 60 again ;( CPU-Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop |

Corso may suck for gunslingers, but for a healing specced scoundrel he is prefect.he tanks, while u can slip around the back for a shotgun blast.hes ideal if you're healer spec.

Originally posted by tank017 Bowdar is still a better tank overall, Corso is my least favorite companion, and as a max level scoundrel, having a tank companion is tedious.. it takes so long to get through mobs, even if you have a low death rate. |

The jedi consular's story could have been done much better.
