OP  1/14/12 10:56:24 AM#1

What Swtor Could use to attract more players

1) Weapons and Addon to your Ship that distinguishes itself from others inside and out ( example: weapons and armor that actually changes the color and is displayed on your ship, with painted names across your ship )

2) More PVP centric bonuses and getting rid of RNG or atleast a Valor Rank requirement for PVP gears

3) Specific Crafter only items ( Example: An Orange Gear , Weapon that can only be worn by master Crafters that contains extra modification slots for Armorsmith, Synthweavers, not game breaking, but probably something that increases your crit rate on your craft items or something that requires 400 armorsmith to wear )

4) World PVP with a Reason / Guild incentives for participating in World PVP on PVP servers

5) Racing PVP events with Monthly/ weekly rewards to promote Player verus Player ( with Pod racers that is customizable )

6) Actualy Gambling game with Ingame Credits ( Nar Shada is a gambling planet, make it so people can actually gamble with the other factions ) ( Don't worry about the kiddies, they shouldn't be playing MMO without parental guidance anyways )

7) Actual Bounties for Bounty Hunters that is outside their factions, same with Smugglers, actual Smuggle Events ( Sith and Jedi can be body guards )

8) Guild Incentives ( this will promote players to group up, and journey together, and allow for smaller guilds to stand out from the crowd, Example: allow Guild promoted Pod Racing that the guild pools together resources to build their racers )

9) Space fight Events that promotes players to play against another's scores, or just a simple Ship Racing Event

Things we don't Need IN Swtor

1) Swimming ( you don't need a huge area with body of water that no one ever goes to, waste of map space and waste of resources ) Unless there is a small island with a huge dungeon that every one has to go to, but then why should you swim for 20 minutes just to reach there

2) Pets ( you don't need pets, you got companions, why the hell would you want a dog or cat following you as you transverse through Star Wars ) In all the movies you got C3po which is like your companion that you already have.

3) Housing ( it doesn't really fit in the universe, because you don't really see Luke Skywalker staying at his house, or Han Solo staying at an House, the ship is his home, and we have our ship so that is our home )

4) Fishing ( In the War between Empire and Republic, there is no time for Fishing )

5) Complex Crafting ( why make it complicated and separate the player base from Player vs Crafter, when what Swtor is doing is maing every Player a Crafter )

These are just some of my suggestions, that would add to the features of the game, and In my Opinion add to the fun factor and continue patronage of gamers.

it's pretty simple to attract more players this game needs to offer more "options" aside from you dialog choices everything is so linear, so pre-defined. You see this everywhere from the UI to the PVP to the talent system to the class system itself to the character customization to the horrid end game gear to lack most convience features available you just don't have a ton of options inthis game... but taking away things like high-res textures and match to chest option which both would be OPTIONS not really sure whats going to happen with this game

all it needs is time to grow and mature, like all mmo's.

it doesn't need endless threads made by people who either have no sense of reality, no sense of proportion and no patience.

I disagree with swimming. It is the end all, be all feature of MMOs. So is finshing. Animal mounts too. I wouldn't mind having a felsteed mount myself

you guys overestimate how "patient" people are these days... back in 2004 how many MMOs were out? not a whole lot.. now in 2012 if you include free we have hundres and hundres of these games.. It's ridicluous not to compare this game to the state of MMOs today.. during the development process the team wasn't working in a bunker 100 miles underground. They saw all the MMO's expansions, the new MMOs. You people are making arguments like its new you shouldn't expect anymore than what vanilla wow had and thats just such BS. Furture MMOs should surpass older ones in many ways no matter how long the older game has been out and if you completely fail to do this why are people going to come over to your game?

Why do you guys assume that the devs do not have pages and pages of features that need to be added, but due to time and financial constraints didnt make the launch build? And why is it that you think making an MMO is a piece of piss that takes no time to slap together. It's a business venture, it has a budget and a schedule, like every project does.

You talk as if this game has days left to receive some sort of miracle patch or the servers will implode and the sky fall. STO is still going and that launched with less content, more bugs, less polish and is STILL starved of content. Yes, it's gone F2P, but it's still running.

I really do not understand the level of concern some people have for this game if they do not like playing it. Find something else to do until GW2 launches, then hit their forums and foretell of that games failure.

1) Needs it but will be a bit, bioware wouldn't want you to ruin their pretty ship designs.

2) Never been big in to gear pvp so no comment.

3) Yes plus raid, high end FP recipe/mission drops.

4) World PvP doesn't work when battlegrounds are in a game(and yes winterwhatever was a battlegrounds, not world pvp)

5&6) They should have work on these instead of that crappy tunnel game.

7) Should be part of the story...

8) They said thy are working it on... but it's taking them atleast 3years and 4 months to add guild banks so I would hold your breath.

9) How about space combat that isn't shit?

1) Most games have to battle under water... (Not sure how a blaster or a saber would do that but *shrug*)

2) Agreed though non machine mounts would be fun.

3) First just because han or luke didn't do it doesn't mean it doesn't fit in the universe. Despite what LA, SOE, and Bioware wants you to think not everyone wants to be Luke or Han. If they can create enough customization to the ships it is unneeded. Also there is no rooms in those tiny shards.

4) But there is time for gambling? Sewing? Farming?

5) Crafting is easily the most complex crafting I have seen in a themepark game... to bad having anything other then bio, bio and slicing is pointless.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

because i have played so many games that got hyped to hell and failed to deliver and a lot of why if failed to deliver was because the game was released to soon and the team was not able to put enuogh content out fast enough to fix the game intime to keep players. By the time the game got up to speed something else came out and no one really felt to give the game another chance.

Can't understand why people rationalize the lack of features and content with - game X and Y didn't have that at release as well.

Games have to compete with current games with current features and gameplay. Games do not compete with what was 5 or 10 years ago. That's what progress is about.

Nikoliath made a very good valid point, just like many before him. You choose not to see it that way.

Time and support for the game, allows the game to grow. All you want is instant gratification.

all it needs is time to grow and mature, like all mmo's.

it doesn't need endless threads made by people who either have no sense of reality, no sense of proportion and no patience.

you guys overestimate how "patient" people are these days... back in 2004 how many MMOs were out? not a whole lot.. now in 2012 if you include free we have hundres and hundres of these games..

All I get out of this is a spoiled brat! This sums up everything you have been trying to say, thread after thread, insatiable player base.

please just stop posting in threads or replying to anything I say.. you never offer one single thing to add to any of the conversations

Nikoliath made a very good valid point, just like many before him. You choose not to see it that way.

Time and support for the game, allows the game to grow. All you want is instant gratification.

And my point is in this age of ADD runnung rampid.. not to mention hundreds of these game to choose from I feel to really make your mark you need to hit it big off the get go and not wait 6 months down the road to just be up to speed. Rift still is a prime example of a game that had some new ideas yet overall was very much a clone but had a ton of those convienence features at launch. This kept them with pretty big numbers off the get go but over the months it slowly dropped once people got over the whole rift and invasion thing and saw what was left was same old stuff since EQ and the MMO features just weren't expanded on enough. But I bet you a lot of those convienence features are what grabbed and kept many players out the gate. Here we have the story which I find great but its what makes a great single player game that will keep people for month or two.. its the MMO features that keep them for years...

A game that's already easy to play and you want to make it easier!

No he did not. He basically just told the OP to shut up and I dont see any point in that. OP makes a good list of valid things which could make this game better and I see nothing wrong with that so why not try to discuss his points rather than badgering him.

I for one think this game needs one main thing, and that is to realise that it is an MMORPG and not a single player game. So no more stories and instances and more world events, PvE and/or PvP. Make people engage each other, create some real conflict between the Sith and the Jedi, and I mean in the world, not in instanced story lines which has no bearing on the world.

Thats because that is what the themepark MMOs have been turned in to.  Instant gratification machines.  So of course there is patient in their players.

Now with that said I agree with sanosukex, I expect new MMOs to be as fully featured as pasted MMOs.  Not any where near the same ammount of content but features like guild features, a working AH system, a crafting system that isn't pointless, a good UI, etc...  Where as SWTOR has LESS features then older MMOs.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.
