According to a thread on Reddit, Star Wars: The Old Republic players have the ability to create their own load screens using layered images of their characters or whatever they wish. The thread comes packed with ideas and even a Photoshop template to use. Check it out on Reddit and then post a picture of your new load screen image for us! Associate Editor: MMORPG.com |

I don't really get the whole Bronies thing, but making your own loading screen is pretty cool. I'm not sure what I'd put in there...I'd like it to pick from a random selection of images. Join the League For Gamers. |

From what I understand, you can put darned near anything in there as witnessed by the image that the Reddit thread creator put in. :) Associate Editor: MMORPG.com |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

It's a shame you can't put video into the load screens, because zones take so long to load, you could watch Episodes 4, 5 and 6 while waiting for Alderaan.

You need a faster machine if you see long load times. Or maybe defrag that drive or something. I see *maybe* 15-20 second load times in *any* zone I've been to. Wheter it's a new visit or not. |

Drive defragged, and it's not just me. Maybe you have a beast of a machine.
I'm running: 3.0ghz athlon II quadcore, 8 gigs of ram, 5870 ATI card
While my PC may not be a beast, it should be more than adequate to load this game in a normal timeframe. Maybe the hero engine does play well with AMD/ATI. who knows.

Load times are going to be based off of your hard drive more than anything. The load time differences between someone with a standard hard drive and someone with an SSD would be tremendous. Join the League For Gamers. |

Looking forward to a Slave Leia load screen.... Cool capability. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

You know what's better than having a loading screen you like? Having a loading screen that doesn't have to stay on your screen for very long. 15-20 seconds? Egad. Loading an entire game from the desktop usually doesn't take me that long. And that's 15-20 seconds just to zone within a game that was already loaded and running? Ouch. |

Yes, load times are horrible, no other newer mmo I have played has come close to being as slow. I am sure a SSD is faster....Just as the developer should have faster and better software/hardware too...Tools to optimize and make this better....Not go backwards....I don't have to zone a ton, but they did a piss poor job of optimizing it imo...I have 8gb of memory, an i7 processor, and yes a HD, not SSD...So I am sure most people have long load screens... |
