I've actually seen quite a few people comment about the high quality water in TOR. Curious as to what you all think of this video: |

but on a more serious note, while the water may not be deep, and/or explorable, the effects of the water (ie: disappearing when the camera moves under the waterline) is common to almost every MMO to date. so why the fuss? |

There's water in this game? Sweet!
Seriously though, this is pretty minor. At worst, it's a fixable bug. Big time meh. Shadow's Hand Guild The Secret World - Dragons Planetside 2 - Terran Republic Tera - Dragonfall Server |

If they want to be lazy about any sort of fix they should just add a camera collider to any water planes. Although wouldn't it have been just as simple to make the water planes double sided? I mean it's not that big of a deal to me, but it's not that much more data for our computers to process either one of those things. |

I'm sure they care, but they probably figured out how many people would do something like this, how many people wouldn't, and figured there weren't enough people to worry about this. It should be fixed though...it makes the game look a lot cheaper than it actually is. Either have the camera not go underwater, or implement a water view when the camera is under water. Have you seen a waterfall yet? I swear it's the worst looking waterfall animation I've seen in any MMO. Add "you can't swim", let alone "swim underwater", to the huge list of things common in other MMOs and yet strangely absent from this one. |

They should have put mountains or sky on the back burner to do water properly. We don't really need mountains or sky as much as we need water that we can drown in. |

I find that lack of things that have no effect on anything, does not affect me one way or the other. If you need to be able to drown yourself in game to get that feeling of immersion, I think your imagination is broken. There are things that are important that are broken in the game, try complaining about those. If you need a helping hand on where to start complaining, open this forum, and then click on a thread. |

Originally posted by hayes303 I think there's not problem wit one particular missing feature, I think the problem is that the sum of missing features makes your face go grim No swimming(this one is bad...at least for me, it was bad in Tabula rasa, it is bad in here)+no day/night cycles+static NPC+dead cities+ the lack of space-ship customization+lot of bugs(will get fixed, not the delay though) + very linear zones(when I heard of exhaustion zones for the first time - boy was I shocked! ) + lame character creation (I honestly dont care at all for this one) = sad panda
that is the problem I think.. |

You can also add that:
AH needs major improvement. Search sucks. No bid option. No split option. Limited to 50 auctions…
No guild lvl’s, bank, perks, housing.
UI needs major improvement. Resizing and positioning must be an immediate addition. Raid frames options must be improved also a lot. Add more skill bars. That’s for start at least.
No Macros.
No Target of Target option.
Items dont stuck in bags / bank.
No wardrobe or something similar. No specific warzone queue option. Only random.
Lot's of loading screens.
Too many bugs for such an expensive and
Client crushes often.
Warzones drops you to character selection screen.
Quest’s that can’t be abandoned in the quest log.
Ppl that without a reason cannot enter Flashpoints and bugged loots from bosses.
Etc. |

This is minor though.
And the comments made me laugh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

I think it's fairly subjective as to what details are important. Personally, I enjoy the sublte aspects of games. I like to be pleastly surprised when a developer makes an effort to incorperate a myriad of finer apects just waiting to be discovered. Admittedly, I'm also let down a little when details are ignored, but I don't let it ruin my day. |

The majority of people who respond to this will say that this is something that is unimportant. Because they're afraid that thsi is a thread attacking their game. In the long scheme of things in a themepark MMORPG this IS unimportant too. And I'm an extreme stickler for water being done as realistically in video games as possible. I think jumping into a river should give you a Soaking Wet debuff, but it never does. SW:TOR Is not Skyrim. Its not trying to simulate a world. You get THEMEPARK water in SW:TOR, and I don't think that will EVER change in a Bioware game. |

Awful. The water doesn't look terrible in itself. It's hard to replicate water after all, especially in an MMO. That said, the bug simply shows what a shitty engine the Hero engine is and obviously BW doesn't care enough or know enough to do anything about it. This was a common occurrence with RIFT too which uses the Gamebryo engine which is another trash engine.
It's really pathetic when a 3 year old game (AoC) has better water graphics and no stupid bug that causes the water to disappear. "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." I need to take this advice more. |

First off I do like the game. Unfortunatly there is no attention to detail with the graphics in this game, steps in the sand, snow, breath ect. Besides hair and cloaks nothing else moves. The knee high water is just pitaful. Personally I like when graphic devs add the little details you find sometimes months into gaming. Seems lazy to me if they don't. |

Back on Topic, OP I didn't buy the game for water textures and it's a small nit pick complaint IMO.
