Originally posted by Guileplayer 3 beta weekends. Once from BioWare Social site, once from this website and the third time because I had been in the other test. I missed a test in November as well which would have put me at 4. I'm no stranger to this genre; it's not hard to judge a cookie cutter MMO by not playing it.
But continue to be combative; it reflects very well on SWTOR's community. "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." I need to take this advice more. |

Originally posted by pharazonic First and foremost, go anywhere, complain about what everyone is doing, criticize it, etc.. And see what kind of reaction you get, when people are having a good time they don't want be brought down by the negative Nancy, it's simply human nature. Secondly, this is a highly combative community (MMORPG.com). It doesn't matter what the subject matter is, you will see this same thing happening over and over. Originally posted by pharazonic Also you don't own the game lol. You never played a character to max level and never saw end game, so your "criticism" have no value lol. Go buy it, play it to 50, do some end game and they you can post critism. And for a guy who don't own the game you sure love to post on its forums rofl. I am convinced you actually play the game and love it lol. Currently Playing: SSFIV AE, SFxTekken, SWTOR, WoW. Waiting for: GW2, Resident Evil 6. |

Originally posted by Distopia Please point out where I "complained about what everyone is doing". This is the original post in case you forgot: " The game is decent as a free to play type game. But it is not an mmo its more of a single player RPG with some chat thrown in. Who is actually willing (Be honest) to pay $15 dollars a month for a game not worth one penny??? I responded saying I wouldn't. If I made a thread about how the game sucked, I could see your point. I simply answered the OP. Originally posted by Guileplayer As I have stated, I don't need to play till 50 to find out if the game is worth playing. I am familiar with how these MMOs work. RIFT was the last time I fell for it. I understand if others need to go through the motions until it may or may not hit them to stick with a game.
Also, this forum is possibly the most busiest. I have made plenty of other threads in other sections of this site. Not my fault if SWTOR gets the most traffic :) Also, not all my SWTOR posts have been negative, or critical. Since you took the effort to go through my post history, I suggest you read the whole thing to see it. "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." Hey guys. It's me. I didn't read anyones posts because I really don't care about any of your opinions, but here is mine after years of playing MMORPGs. I racked up a total played time of 1 day and 10 hours in the past few days, and I must say this game really feels like it's missing something for an MMO and RPG. I have really been trying to put my finger on it but I just can't, so I will list what I believe just doesn't feel right in the game. First of all even though most of the world isn't instanced it feels like I am playing the star wars version of guild wars. You might laugh at this, but it feels nothing like what EQ and UO did when I started playing them. Everything is way too "tracked" and "linear" - I understand it goes with the story, but that isn't a selling point for me. The gameplay feels very clunky. I am not talking bug wise, I mean just the "flow" of combat and the game in general. It just doesn't feel right...it almost reminds me of FFIV. Even after messing with most of the settings the targeting system makes me cringe and I find it hard to find which mob I am targeting when they are in large groups (PVP as well). The crafting...dear god... where to start? I hate being pigeonholed into a few certain fields and being limited on what I can gather or create in a certain amount of time, not to mention increasing in time later on. Why can't my gathering/creating be based upon a community of friends that I have built? (much like in SWG where you would have friends with extractors and the guys who actually crafted with no limit but the people themselves and what they could get their hands on). PVP. Because having a character with 1 talent point play with characters that have full trees and experience playing the game is smart. My first 10 Warzones were complete massacres. No one on the team worked together despite every effort. I have won 1 the whole time I have played, and I am tired of playing huttball. The UI. I hate it. Why can I not modify each individual element to my liking? Why is my companions bar locked? granted this will probably be addressed later it is a nuisance right now. The community. I can't stand half the kids playing this game. I rarely run into someone who is mature. I just got a headache typing about this, you can see for yourself if you play. The Global Trade Network (whatever the name is of the broker/auction house system). The search function it uses is garbage, I have constantly ran into problems with it and hate getting forced to make choices of item type when I just want to search a name I know already. Being overseas also made purchasing the game a real pain in the ass, and EAs Origin system is garbage. I had the worst time ever getting the digital copy online. All of the FAQs to find the product key on EAs website were out of date and when I finally bypassed the regional block I had to wait 5 hours for the key to get to my inbox. I am not going to mention any of the obvious bugs like disconnecting while changing zone instance or players getting stuck because it is so new. The only things I really liked about this game are: The jawa companion bounty hunter gets, the modding system for items, and star wars.
Gentlemen-- look no further this is the future of MMORPGs, and it makes me sad.
