The games enjoyable, its mainly the beta testers (self included) that have a stick up their ass because they played a game that was much better in beta. then we watched it get tucked deeper into the cookie cutter frame. Because i can. |

I thought hard about this whist cutting my long toe nails and decided on the last cut that this is a bad game. You see I'd keep growing my damn toe nails if I had a decent game to play but the all suck so bad. is MMO dead right now? YES will it come back in 2012 YES will SWTOR help in this come back? NO!! |

Have decided few years ago that I'm done with "free" trash. |

Originally posted by sanosukex Very well put, thank you! I avoided the prelaunch hype the best I could and only had moderate expectations for the game, but I was still disappointed. I can only imagine how people who were really psyched for the game, but not to the point of blind adoration, must be feeling and thinking about now. I love MMOs and RPGs. Even a mediocre title can usually hold my interest long enough to be worth the box price. I shouldn't be having this much trouble bringing myself to log into a game this soon after release. I've gotten more play out of a few Asian F2P games. I hope I can get a second wind soon and at least make modest use of my remaining game time. Otherwise, back to Skyrim, with a few breaks for Orcs Must Die! for something totally different. :) Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz? If you are a fanboy it should be good for you. If you are not, is the same as playing wow in space but with worse combat and more bugs. |

The question is not about being good or bad, the question is, are you bored with WOW ? If the answer is yes, you'll be bored with SWTOR real fast. It's the exact same thing. |

Once you accept TOR for what it is, it is a good game. It is MMOlite. It does feel like a single player RPG. The stories are great fun to experience. But are they worth $15 a month for a whole year? This is Bio-wares first MMO. They made some first MMO mistakes that they can recover from. But will the TOR fans be patient and wait for those updates. Probably not given at how impatient gamers have become these days.
I don't think I will play next month but that is due to my playstyle. I would like to get in most of the story for the Jedi, Warrior and Inq and then I'm done I think. I may do the agent. I liked the story up until I got my ship in beta. We shall see. |

People who hate the pvp or complain about balance are the ones who think they should be able to destroy all in pvp and don't understand that each AC has a role in pvp and when played correctly as a team any class can dominate. However, must just feel that they should be able to win every 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 or else its not balanced. It's all about team play and I hope it stays that way, none of this crying fest well my class gets beat by this class a lot therefore its not balanced. This is one of the most enjoyable pvp experiences I have had, warzone and open world. And lastely, the animations are amazing. The scoundrel scrapper has some of the coolest looking/sounding animatoins for its moves, and some of the other classes that I just started toying with have some as well. |

Originally posted by Souldrainer I don't think SWTOR is a bad game, but I don't think it's as simple as "you knew what to expect, it's your own fault you don't like it" either. I knew very well that the game would be "traditional" and yet, I still found myself disappointed in it. Why? Because there are just so many intangibles that you won't ever know about until you play the game. For example, linearity, quality of individual quests/story, combat responsiveness, PvP "fun factor," class ability "fun factor." So I knew the game would be traditional, but I still expected it to be a little better. I just found the game to be way too linear (WoW was less linear), and I found the quality of the vast majority of the side quests to be on par with WoW in 2004 which was disappointing. I also found the combat to not be as responsive as WoW, and I was disappointed with some of the shortcomings in PvP, like inability to select a warzone to queue for, inability to see the score board until the end of the match, inexplicable lag...etc. There's also the uncustomizable UI, lackluster auction house, too much running between quests etc. There really is a lot to complain about that is legitimate. There's also a lot to love about the game as well, so I don't want to come off as completely negative. That said, I think you should respect that some people that don't like the game knew exactly what to expect and were still disappointed. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by Souldrainer there is a difference between reinventing the wheel, improving on it or just copying it. Basically this game just copied it, now a lot of people I have seen post here do not find this a bad game at all.. its a lot of fun actually its just not even close to as polished as many people think unless your are new to MMOs. If you are talking just the MMO aspects I'd say Rift was a much more polished release than this one but overall I'd say SWTOR is a better game but lacking in many of the MMO aspects http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

The vast majority of players and reviewers who have tried the game seem to really enjoy it. Don't listen to the haters. SWTOR is an extremely well-made and enjoyable game. You owe it to yourself to give it a try. Also, a general point of advice: Don't ever listen to the people on this site's forums for an accurate review of a game. This site is filled with MMO-burnouts and butthurt sandbox gamers who cannot enjoy anything that does not meet their perfect expectation of what an MMO can be. I'm not surprised that people here on MMORPG.com are bashing SWTOR... they bash every game. |

Originally posted by sanosukex There are lots of things in general that are great but never reinvented the wheel. Every FPS in the last 10 years for instance, or how about every RTS game since WarCraft (save for the Total War Series)? Also what is and isn't innovative and improving is very suggestive, personally I find VO and Story to be the best thing to happen to the genre since WoW. |

Originally posted by Anubisan I'm a butthurt sandbox lover. No its not that bad. I am enjoying it. I would love for it to have more sandboxy elements, but I'd be content if they put those into the end game. It is a joy to level. I've even listened to 3 or 4 voice over dialogs (because I was eating).

You couldnt even play WOW when it was released, and now it is THE measurment of all things MMO. Current game: MLB The Show Awaiting: Archeage past games: EQ, EQ2, DAOC, SWG VG, WAR, FFXI, FFXIV, GW, AoC, WoW, EVE, rift, DF, DCUO, Entropia, SWTOR. |

Why do you need to check the scoreboard during the game? The scoreboard tells you nothing about the obejctives in the game. Or do you just need to reconfirm how well you are doing each time you are killed? Just asking |

Originally posted by Happyguy83 i honestly can't play FPS games for more than an hour two now nowadays because every single one is pretty much the same thing over and over.. now as far as the VO and story thats subjective.. it does have the nice new feeling much like Rifts soul system and be able to change roles on the fly but after that new feeling wears off i'd rather have other aspects of the gameplay improved upon like the combat, like what is actually going on in the quests instead of the basic go here touch the glowing thing and watch story, actually having political structures in place for meaningful end game. Stuff like this that would actually bring more to the genre then just adding some flair on top of an already tired game structure. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |
