Seriously? You broke away from watching Gaba Gaba Hey just to ask who would pay for playing this game....
Seriously?
You guys come on here and complain for what reason? To make yourself feel better or maybe you didn't get the game you wanted.
From the looks of it alot of people are happy with the product, so go back to watching your baby tv shows, get your mommie to fix you a glass of tit milk and cookies...
Seriously..these hater posts are getting old.....

Also may i refresh you on what a MMO is (and how the term has changed it seems). Massive multiplayer online. Game has mass numbers, all online, and play on 1 server. Biggest one I don't understand but is, Is league of legends. Being a RTS, and considered MMO somehow but isn't. This game, i did quite a lot of testing. It feels no more different then WoW, or any other MMORPG. Your class stories are only thing that is 'only' yours. And unless your anti social, you can get groups/ dungeons/ herioc quest with parties quite easily, and the player market is quite substantial option of any mmo. This game has all elements of your 'typical' mmorpg, and more. So your point is invallid.
Y do people / did pay. For WoW... EvE...Aion....Rift.. This game has better qualities than WoW, Aion, Rift, SOMEWHAT EVE (cuz i like eve... idk about that).
And Y U say? For the same reason all subscription based games are made. TO not have a pay 2 win system.
HMM 15dollars a month. (Skip on wedneys twice. and that extra soda you didn't need. BAM 15dollars). A. Pays for servers/ support services, and keeps the game going for company fiances seeing future expansive options. B. keeps game balanced into terms of everyone having to do same things to achieve goal/items.
F2P(P2W). A. Free gameplay throughout most areas to get u maxed, may have to buy other areas with real cash. B. things you would have gotten easy and freely with sub based now cost real cash. C. Bigger wallet, bigger ego. D. You bought the ending raid set, congrats on no skill, and big wallet. Go own with ur OP un earned E-items. E. SPAMS OUT FOR SUMMER.. Featuring the artist. Gold bots, scammers. F. More hackers without consquence as hard. |

1. The camera angles made in the game are horrible, the movement is jerky and not fluid at all. The char models are horrible, and are not fluid at all. The specials skills also are stuck and not fluid at all either.
2. The game has a linear function. Where is the Open world to explore ???
3. The cutscenes are boring and are there just so people don't have to read anything like the old days.
4. The mobs and npcs are static and have no movement whatsoever.
5. The quests are kill x bring x to npc etc.
6. Don't get me wrong the game is good as a buy once play for free type game but It just doesn't have that polish that you want to pay $15 a month for! So why the defending of it??? I would give you a guest pass to SWOTR, but then I wouldn't be able to find a way to live with myself afterwards.... |

It looks to me that the answer to the OP's question is "a few million people". |

As long as I'm still enjpoying the game I will gladly pay $15 a month. Once I cease to enjoy paying it I will quit subscribing, It's realy just that simple. I mean $15 dollars a month for some entertainment is a pittance in the scheme of things. Also I will never understand peoples need to try to belittle or question the intelligence of someone who enjoys a game they don't or vice versa. It's all a matter of personal taste. How can someone else believe they can tell you that your personal taste is wrong lol? |

Originally posted by xion12121 But every single quest in wow (and rift ) is kill X or bring X to NPC, except they have no interesting story or dialog to go with it like TOR. It's also just as linear since you grind quests 1 area at a time. WOW has an open world, but there isn't anything to explore in it and 90% of it is terrain made by a fractal generator using copy/pasted pre-fab models for buildings etc. TOR is hand crafted so it has a lot more detail. |

Originally posted by xion12121 Defending it because not everyone has same experince as yours? more like dis agreement than defence. For example i have zero issue with combat responsivness and i find animations to be smooth. My only one abilty gets stuck every now and then. If you find cut scenes boring that is matter of taste what has polish got anything to do with you not liking the custcenes and V.O? the quests are what you get in themepark MMO but they made it engaging with voice overs. No one said quests were going to eb any different. Every themepark MMO quests or no quest you will either spend time killing x, or escorting or fetching something. Most of the things you listed are your personal taste and no amount of polish can change that. All they can do is fix some abilities that get stuck and add more life to cities and world in general. Hoth, Alderaan, Balmore, Tatooine..all are huge planets open for exploration. No one will stop you from going in to dune sea and get owned once you are done with tutorial area and get your own ship So what is stopping you from exploring? |

I will pay 15 dollars (about 10 pounds a month) for any blockbuster big-budget mmorpg game that keeps me entertained for a couple of hours every day and in which I can game and chat with mates. I will pay it for SWTOR because it really is very good: it has a lot of polish; my mates are playing; and it has a triple-buzz about it: the buzz of being new, the buzz being Bioware big-budget and the buzz of having many players. The way I see it, a trip to the movie theatre in Japan with the wife (we love movies and go once a month) costs us about 5,000 yen which is about 40 pounds for 3 hours of entertainment. If a game can give me on average of 30 hours of entertainment a month for a tenner (10 pounds) then sure, I'll pay up gladly. The challenge for SWTOR is that there are a lot of former big or reasonable budget paid sub mmorpgs that are now free to play: LOTRO, WAR, AOC and so on. The industry has changed somewhat because of this and so paid sub games will have to justify their subs all the more to keep people paying. For now I am very happy to pay. I will see what happens endgame and see what happens with updates and expansions to see if it keeps my subs. I love SWTOR right now, I have a good feeling about SWTOR for the future so I am confident they can and will be as successful as WOW in retaining a paid sub base. Of course if they fail and it goes the the way of WAR, AOC, LOTRO then it is no biggie either as I will just hop about playing for free but with diminished expectations. So yeh I would pay and I am paying. I am "honestly" "actually" paying for it and the reason why is because it is "honestly" "actually" a great deal of fun.

Originally posted by Puremallace Hi Puremallace, I remember you from Rift forums, just want to say that because internet trolls and wowkiddies tried to kill Rift, that doesn't mean that you have to take it on newer games. Also, all the points relating clunky combat and choppy animations are user related. TOR won't run on the same crappy hardware as, say, WoW. |

Me, me!!! I haven't had this much fun in a mmo in a very long time. There is lots of very strong f2p these days, which is true, ut you are talking one trip to the movie theater with snacks or three cups of coffee. What matters to me is not the paltry entrance fee, but am I having fun. While that answer is a resounding yes then of course I will subscribe, Wouldn't you?
