All of these people praising the game need to wait until their second month. Right now most people are in the "honeymoon phase" where everything seems perfect and glamourous. Wait until you're 50, and a month in and then tell us how you feel. Also, the amount of people subbing for their second month of play will dictate how well this game is doing. Box sells really do not mean a game is good or bad, just that it was marketed well. But, people coming back clearly shows it has lasting appeal.
For everyone wondering end-game is basically this: Heroic 4 mans (dungeons) Warzones (battlegrounds) Operations (raids)
So please, if you're on the fence about this, wait until the next month. |

Originally posted by skamper Operation on three diffuclty settings and there is also FFA pvp zone and planet illum for end game PVP. For those who are into crafting there is so much to do beyond lvl 50. As you will spend lots of time and good amount of money to discover all the new schematics and mods. How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release? ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs. |

FFA pvp can hardly be called end game content. Generally in mmorpgs end-game content revolves around "What can I do in this game to keep progressing, once I reach max level?". Unless the FFA pvp awards some sort of armor, stat, companion, etc it is hardly end-game content. Sure it is fun and exciting but does not have lasting appeal like raiding or instanced pvp. Obviously people who do pvp and dungeons/raids will have an advantage over a person who just hit 50 and sits in the FFA pvp area all day.
Judging from the items listed on torhead.com, there's only a moderate amount of crafted items at level 50 to use. Absolutely you could use the level 50 crafted items to start dungeons and entry level raid, but it won't get you much further than that.
Note: I am not saying this is a bad game. I just want the people on the fence to understand exactly what the game is and what it offers, before they spend money. |

Well to start off, I am giving this game to my niece because I know she will enjoy it. I played the beta and had fun but that convinced me to avoid it for myself. The game has zero replayability in my mind. You level far too fast and will reach end game far too quickly. Then what are you going to do? Raid? Sorry this game is just a faster leveling Wow with the exact same end game. Been there done that. Crafting is made for the simpletons so that won't keep you busy, can't see nothing else that will keep people playing. So enjoy the game now, but you will be looking for something else soon. Not trying to spoil anyones fun, but just being realistic. Myself, I just very disappointed with Bioware for demeaning themselves with this game design. How they managed to spend so much money developing it shows a great deal of mismanagement. |

Haters gona hate and no where is it as prevelant as on these pages. Professional reviews are mostly positive but no they couldn't be right so its "in EA's pocket" "incompetent" Clone clone same same!! problem is as alot of us keep saying we hate wow but we love swtor so we must be fanboys, yes it is like every other mmo out there if you take away the story, voice acting, content and CHOICE.
So all I can do is repeat the same that most of us spending more time in game than on this board A)I am personally really enjoying this game, the story, the gameplay even the space game is a fun destraction. B)I did not like wow, do not enjoy rift and hated FF. I and my friends are having a blast quite literally. Check out metacritic if you really want to see the nastiness and vitriolic content against SWTOR from normal reviews, it is like an organised negative bomb attack on SWTOR, no rational at all. ANY mmo that launches stable with content up to end game, with some polish even if you do not like it, even if you think it is a clone does NOT deserve a score of 0-4 |

Leave it to the "Proffesional Gamer's" lol

I'm glad so many people are having a great time with it--it really is a well done, polished game that succeeds at what it set out to do. That said, I decided after four months of beta that it wasn't really the MMO I'm looking for right now. I'm a big Star Wars fan, a huge BioWare fan and a player of over a dozen different MMOs dating back to EQ, so I had been hoping this game would be right up my alley. But I'm a big gamer in general, too, not just an MMO player, and there are so many other great games across multiple platforms right now that I don't feel compelled to pay an ongoing fee for an MMO that's biggest strengths are that it brings the personality of a single-player RPG into an MMO environment--because, simply put, I can get that single-player personality from other great single-player games right now.
When I subscribe to an MMO, the sense that its world is "alive" is just as important an aspect of the game to me as all the rest, and compared to many of the MMOs I've played in the past, ToR's galaxy is very static and fragmented, broken up into several instances and divided by numerous load screens, with no dynamic weather, no day/night cycle, and very little reason for players to come together. Of course, it does have solid enough combat, good questing, simple-yet-fairly-deep crafting, and quite a bit of potential, so there's always that chance that months or years down the road when gaming is going through more of a drought and the up-front cost has dropped to $20-$30, I may have to check this out and see how it has grown. |

If I think back to the great MMORPG's I've played which started back in 2001 with Anarchy Online, then onto Dark Age of Camelot, EVE Online, Everquest II and Planetside. I've played dozens of MMO's but never got into them, those 5 MMO's I've listed are my top 5 and I feel it's getting harder and harder to find a worthy MMO to play. The last MMO I played was RIFT at release, but that only lasted a couple weeks before boredom set in, I was at that point where I was playing MMO's less and less and then I stopped after RIFT and decided MMO's were no more for me. I went back to single player games and FPS games for almost a year but then SWTOR came along and it has reignited that fire for me. It's basic formula stuff, but there's alot I like in the game, the combat feels good, loving questing for the first time ever in an MMORPG, the voice over is brilliant which were short lived but loved features in Everquest II and Age of Conan. I think the graphics look suberb and has a great art style, I actually want to roll an alt to see both the dark and light side. I appreciate it's non-committed crafting and companion system is fun also. I can only sense great things to come for SWTOR, I've spent over 20 hours in the game so far, got to level 16 and for the first time ever, I'm not rushing to 50 to see the endgame, I'm actually doing the quests and looking forward to the next one. I've always clicked on an NPC, hit accept the quest and let the map point me where to go just to get the exerience quickly. In SWTOR, I'll do maybe a few quests in a play session and feel very satisfied when I log off, it's brilliant stuff. I say weldone to Bioware for making me like MMO's again. Things feel right in SWTOR and I'm loving every moment of it, there's alot to see and do, been playing almost 4 weeks now, got into beta and day 2 early access and no signs of boredom setting in yet, a very good sign. :) |

Originally posted by skamper Items listed at TOR doesn't give a clear picture yet because there is so much that is not discovered in crafting. But judging from my lvl 200 armortech i am pretty sure there will be plenty of new epic and legendery schematics to discover. Not everyone likes to PVP for progression though, so if you don't think FFA pvp can not be considered end game doesn't mean it is true for everyone else. But then again we ned a good population of 50 to see how it pans out but the fact is that for those who want to PVP they have FFA pvp zone and illum. I personally could care less for rewards associated with PVP, for me it is all about being competitive. How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release? ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs. |

I agree. They have it down to a science though when flaming. Three things uninformed people see over and over and eventually it will sink in. "Game sucks" "Waste of money" "Boring"
They always make sure they throw those points out there without giving any reasons for any of it. I almost wish they worked for a rival MMO so that it would make sense as to why they are that passionate about "destroying a game". In the end, I guess I have better things to do than "defend my game" and they don't. |

Originally posted by Crunchy221 As I said before in a previous post - I'm not telling anyone they can't like the game but I find it wrong that so many say that the game sucks or is like Wow with lightsabers. The game might not be to your taste but it's not a bad game that so many are saying it is. And since there are so many on this forum making baseless claims about SWTOR I decided to make my own POSITIVE thread to counter them. People have been bashing the game before it even released which is wrong and all the haters will be proved wrong in the end. Also - I find many of the people in this forum to be condescending snobs when it comes to MMO's - if it doesn't involve a spreadsheet or years of study it's just not a good game. Well...you guys keep on waiting for that "perfect" game - I'm sure it'll be along some day :) Currently playing as Lord Helmet on Rift (Faeblight) |

I hope you do realize that you sound quite condescending yourself and are not doing much to discredit those so called haters.
