i stopped reading the reviews on that site when people started posting that the cutscenes were performed terribly and badly done. Whether you like the game or not you cannot justifiably make that statement. Obvious blind haters are obvious. |

Originally posted by Distopia The funny thing is that MW3 and SWTOR are amongst the best selling games in history. Probably also 2 of the most played games at this time (i'm guessing here tho). You don't care if others love it as well, you just enjoy it in your time and space. If you hate something you want to hunt it down and kill it. Human nature. |

You could also say that haters express their hate quickly, and burn out quickly. Lovers express their love slowly, and don't burn out as fast. Rating is up to 5.9 from 5.7 yesterday. Again, mark my words. It's going to keep going up...keep an eye on it for next week or the first of the year. :-) Join the League For Gamers. |

That's funny how the fan of Swtor here try to defend the lack of any value in player review, when in fact exactly the same reason push people to give low score to Swtor as they did with MW3.
Accept it, or deny it, nobody care really. Fact is the score is super low. Company that will keep on denying the player opinion will probably lost sell very soon as well, maybe they wont, and fan boys will be right, nobody knows really. But you can be sure some people in charge will have material for thought. |

It's up to 6 on Metacritic now. On top of that it has some very decent critic reviews as well. There are more people who like the game than not, that score will continue to rise over time. Join the League For Gamers. |

After reading over 50 of them I get the sense that many of them are from MMO players in other games who want SWTOR to fail. It's a lot of rehashed whining that has no detail, or modern relevance. I'd give the game a 9/10, which is high for me! www.gamerevolution.com |

Millions of people ripped apart Modern Warfare 3 on Metacritic.. Millions of people purchased and continue to play Modern Warfare 3.. Millions of people hate World of Warcraft.. Millions of people play World of Warcraft..
Could we be so sure about what is really the case, based on what people present on the internet?
Basically, it's probably the same ol' Metacritic trolls, trollin you guys.. |

Originally posted by Xondar123 You just have to actually read them. For example, user reviews are where I learned that Skyrim is basically unplayable on the PS3, which is something you would never see in a pro review. |

Originally posted by lizardbones Oh please. The "Critics" scores are just as bad as the Users. 80s, 90s? Seriously? They are nothing but Fanbois too. Worse even. They are PAID Fanbois. What Critic is going to risk his job by giving SWTOR an honest review? None, because the companies they work for get bigtime $$$ for Advertising the game. The wont bite the hand that feeds. That game had the fastest meteroric decline in subs I've ever seen. Professional reviews of MMORPGs are notoriously bad and short sighted. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

If it seems decent enough, they rate it well, to stay on the safe side.
They might not be outright payed for reviews, but they don't want to risk panning a game that doesn't deserve it. They also don't want to be too subjective, like simply, is this a game the reviewer is going to be playing for months to come? No, that would be unprofessional, except.. seems dishonest to me, not to take that into account. Chances are, with most MMO reviews, no, the reviewer quits as soon as they're done, because much like other regular gamers, the only one that's ever held their attention was WoW.
Btw, noticing the Metacritic score is still climbing, but if you sort the reviews by date, it's 9, 9, 10, 10, 9, 10, 3, 9, 10, 9, 10, 10, 0, 1, 2, 10, 2, 7, 10, 10, 9, 10... fanbois and haters will look at that in two very different ways :) When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

My opinion, the reviews there offer some nice criticism that could help improve any game. Let's be real. CoD isn't perfect, nor is SWTOR.

Originally posted by PyrateLV Yup, every reviewer is paid off, get a clue.
Gamers have unrealistic views on games, they think if its not innovative and 100% new that its garbage that deserves a 1, most have them have played to many games toe ver enjoy anything again.
Even if proff critics are paid off, better than the gamers who ACT exactly like theve been paid off but they do it for free. Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling" |
