Of course you can skip these quest and just solo, but don't say mutiplayer is an after though when there are tons of group quests and you get points for joining group conversations. People amaze me that they just like to complain even if they are dead wrong |

Sorry m8 I guess what I said was a bit harsh, also I was not really comparing it to wow because it’s such a similar game anyway. But i am not wrong there is no real incentive to team up in the game you dont have to unless you want to run some of the extra missions they have put in... but i guess this is a generic issue with al lthemepark games.. Anyway SWTOR is everything i expected from it, for a generic themepark game it oes the job pretty well just not my cup of tea..

Originally posted by vtravi Actually it does not. Competing for resources fits perfectly well with being immersed in a world which you share with others. Adds some PvP to this equation and it all becomes much more interesting. |

Your "innovation" only creates a problem not a benefit. If mobs/quests are an issue then BW needs to rework some game mechanics dealing with it. like what Blizzard did. The only thing instancing does is creat more isolation in an already heavy isolating game. Any socialization between players relys heavily on guilds. |

Haters, keep on dreaming. TOR is not the failure you wished it to be. Live with it.
NGE killed SWG. Get over it like the rest of us did in 2005. |

Originally posted by Ambros123 You know, they should just do it at this point. I think the market has been brainwashed to the point where they are ready for it. Just make an "MMORPG" that is entirely instanced. ENTIRELY instanced, not even towns are un-instanced. Make it so players have to sign onto your servers and pay a sub-fee to play. They can of course group with others that they find in the chat or whatever. I bet people would be praising how the game gets rid of all those annoying MMORPG features like people running around and stealing your mobs. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by Yamota how is a 4 man group much different to practically any MMO out there? The difference being with swtor compared to other MMO's in MY experience atleast.. is that i actually DO group, and regularly. Ive also been in groups of ~20 while doing 3 different world bosses, but my point was that ive grouped in this MMO more than i have in any MMO to date while levelling and ive only been playing for a week |

<< But i am not wrong there is no real incentive to team up in the game you dont have to unless you want to run some of the extra missions they have put in... but i guess this is a generic issue with al lthemepark games.. >> But you are wrong. There's TONS of incentives for grouping. You can't go anywhere without bumping into group quests and instances. There are areas outside of instances where everything is 'Heroic' (can't easily be solo'd @level). The best route to the best gear and cash is through group content. There's plenty of gear and tons of content that you can't get without grouping. PVP is all about grouping. The only argument you have is that it -is- possible to solo in SWTOR, just like it is possible to solo in EVERY OTHER MMO (including sandboxes) EVER (ok maybe not ever but I don't know of one that can't be solo'd). |

Been following Swtor and the comments made on the game. I must say I hate instances on the same server. I encountered the instance thingy for the first time in the game Age of Conan and asked myself why they did that. Could it be to protect the user/client side from hardware issues? Is it because the world that was made was too small and thus bringing problems with resources/mobs being camped to complete quests/gather materials? To this day I have no clue, but I'm pretty sure some of you have. Personally I do not like instancing, but there must be some reason why they do it on the Server side.

I suspect there is nothing left from Bioware except the name, it's EA holding a leash and that pretty much ensures massively advertised crap products. As for SWTOR, I'm still on the fence but it sure as hell looks like pile of crap on youtube. From visual art (there are great "cartoony" art styles out there) and clunky animations to game mechanics and zone instancing. I wouldn't hold it against an indy developer with a very limited budget but Bioware is supposedly the elite of gaming industry and spent $150mil? on development. Where did that money go? One would expect disinguised quality after such monumental investment.

I can't wait for the initial launch to die down so that people will finally get bored of posting obvious flame-bait in the hope of provoking an argument.

Originally posted by Littlebomb Of everything one could choose to pick on about this game it's lack of being "Bioware" is not one of them. It looks and feels exactly like a Bioware game good or bad. From the enviornments, the animations, the combat, to the voice acting it's dead on. I replayed Knights of the Old Republic a few months ago and I will say they did a great job creating something that feels like a sequal to that game. You might not like the decisions Bioware made in how they added the multiplayer aspects of the game but calling the game a sell out is a weak argument. |

This must be a joke, SWTOR is the best MMO ever m8 no way around i you may not like it, but SWTOR is here to stay and it will be nº1 in 1-2years, you can go wait for GW2 and play a sub par game that will have way more instancing thant SWTOR with the other 100k players. |

Am I missing something this morning? Are the trolls really out in such a force? Someone find a diaper in their cereal? Bash the Aoc launch? Check. WAR? Check. Darkfall? Check. CO? Check. DCUO? Check. But really TOR? Was I playing a different game? Im sorry ive played MMOs for a long time now and this launch was pretty damn smooth. Game is alot of fun and I am going to grab my box as soon as Gamestop opens its doors. You want a launch to chew on talk FFXIV. Not TOR |
