I rolled characters on the darkside. I wanted to play Repbulic but my friends wanted to roll as the darkside. Anyway We all got in on the 15th and have been playing. It has become obvious based on the PVP queues, forums etc... that the Empire outnumber the Republic. We all decided to go Republic and are trying to decide on a new server. We would actually choose the server the imbalance is the greatest. It is fun to be the underdog. (PVP server). I remember on Arthas in WoW horde was outnumbered big time. We rolled as horde and our queues for battle grounds were so much faster then alliance. Anyway, I digress. Why do you think this imbalance exists? I firmly believe that in WoW it existed because of the "dark elves" are where a ton of the kids decided to create their characters. What does it say about our society that majority of people are choosing "darkness" over the "light". Back to the point. Please list out the precentages for each server. You don't have to give raw numbers, just let us know the balance. |

I would much rather see the percentage of the playerbase at each level at the beginning of the official launch. How many players have a max level character? How many are 'high levels' aready? I'm not planning to play this game, but I'd certainly like to know what effect the early access period actually had on the game. Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority. |

It would be nice to see something like this to be a standard part of the server popultion indicators -- something like: NERF HERDER (PvP)
Then players would not only get a feeling for the total population, but also for the faction distribution.

Originally posted by Puremallace Exactly. Hey I rolled a Sith on my server, played to level 10 and queued for a PvP match. First match I got into ended in 90 seconds for lack of players, on my side 8 vs 2. I immediately rerolled as a Jedi and am happy as hell now. :) Not exactly sure why the game company needs to spend all the development time and money so players dont have to take a couple hours and get settled. Its the same for queue times on login. Seriously, you put in 4 hours time on your character, and over the past week you sat in queue for 5 hours. Why didnt you reroll 5 hours ago on a server that wasn't overloaded??? Let me guess, the other 20 people in your guild, that are also sitting in queues every day, they would rather sit in queues HERE than reroll on a server they never have to worry about it anymore? Or is that also something the game company should pay to fix for you? Not sure how much money it costs to produce common sense, anyone know that off hand??
Oh and OP I understand where your coming from man, I usually like playing on the underdog side, especially for PvP. This game I plan on going PvE tank primary, so I shot for the highest pop I could find. Republic is high on a lot of them out there from what I have seen so far, not sure why, being all goodie goodie is driving me nuts already. I'm looking forward to the day I fall from the Force and pick up my Dark Side threads as so many have done before me ! I think BH and smuggler should have been a neutral option. Your faction could have been determined by ligh/dark choices or a conscious decision later ingame. Or you could have remained a neutral faction.
The fact that BH and Sith are on one side is greater than Smuggler and Jedi. But this is only opinion. I rolled Sith Warrior. |

They could have done something along the lines of having your starter zones being neutral, and the having a major story point, that ultimately decides what faction you 'join' at say level 10 (similar to WoW's next expansion).

I would like to see some sort of incentive for republic similar to what Aion or Planetside did. My guild is empire On a PvP server. Sometimes the warzone queues take forever.

Everybody wants to be as close to 'iconic' Starwars characters as they can. And let's face it, most the cool most memorable characters are the bad guys.. Darth whatever.. Boba Fett, etc.. So people immediately move to that option.
On top of that, general rule of any PVP game.. "The Ugly Races Win" Previous games.. Horde, Destruction, etc.. Whatever the ugly races are always prosper in PvP. Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/tsw-guides/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff.... |

Originally posted by sigurd57 I played both sides in beta and early start but the story lines and RP elements, for me anyway, are just more fun on the empire side. Nothing to do with being iconic. |
