I see and understand why people don't like it because I'm open minded... all the negative talk about it has not stopped me from actually enjoying it. Can't say i've played a space fighter game since Starfox probably but I feel it adds enough, offers enough, and is short enough to be a small get away from normal quest grind. I've gotten a couple levels off it so far and look forward to my next set of quests... I really look forward to the idea of co-op space missions even if on rails where you need to avoid shooting your partner and you both need to meet the objectives. They have signaled space combat is going to be a big part of their update ... I'm probably one of the few who is actually really excited about that. Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it. |

I like the system, but I do not like the static, repetitive content. If it was ever changing and spontaniously generated content that was slightly different each time I would be the biggest fan of it ever. Being in my high 20's with only 5 very repetitive 5 minute max levels is a bit tedious and boring after the initial awe subsides. |

Haven't tried it yet, cuz my ship is naked. But as soon as I get the creds for a decent loadout, I'll give it a whirl. |

I've got mixed feelings on the space combat...
#1. It brings back memories of my childhood playing oldschool SW "Point and shoot" PC games
#2. It IS fun... somewhat
#3. It is EXTREMELY easy once you have the ship upgrades...
#4. The EXP is great when you have a quest to do it
-------------
In the long run it's an alright feature... but certainly nothing special. Often times I find that seeing my ship in a third person view is blocking the incoming ships and by the time I notice it's too late to get a shot out. I only do the space missions when switching questing planets. |

I actually think it's pretty cool. Things that would potentially make it better (for me and maybe others):
-Multiplayer space fights. Have either two ships side by side, or have one big ship with a driver and the other be the gunner. -Ability to end the mission when the objectives are complete instead of waiting. -New battles/objectives -Hard mode versions of current battles -Have the experience of killing things be boosted. 7xp from killing an intercepter is kind of sad... I can punt a womp rat for more exp. -New ships -PvP space fights! ;) |

Have you done the interfleet transport? -- like, the little shuttle ride between the capital ships that you can take?
That, to me, is more exciting than the space combat. It actually feels like space, and I can -- in the few brief seconds it lasts -- actually imagine piloting that shuttle myself around the ships, or flying in formation with them as we engage an enemy battlefleet.
No, I am not satisfied with the space combat in TOR, or even remotely close to that status. It leaves much -- too much -- to be desired. |

I enjoy the space combat, too, even if it has caused me to pull my hair out at times. (I'm looking at you, suicidal shuttle pilot). I can see where Bioware was going with the idea, as set pieces ripped from the movies. If they added more missions, added some multiplayer facet, and even figured out how to make them PvP-able, I think that would be a vast improvement. How cool would it be to play through a mission like the end of Ep. IV with a few friends, taking down defenses, peeling off enemy fighters, and timing things right for a perfect shot on the reactor? |

It's a nice diversion from questing, and offers a lot of experience. Plus, it's nice to see the noticeable difference in performance when you upgrade your ship. Makes the missions much easier. I would imagine many more people will participate in the space combat on their alts than they do on their main. It's a great way to shave off a level or two from a specific zone that you might not feel like questing through again. Too bad I don't get my ship before Coruscant. ;) But I'm eagerly anticipating what they are going to do with the whole space combat thing as well as ship customization. I honestly think it's fantastic as far as MMO minigames go, but I feel Bioware might be using it more as a placeholder at this point, with the idea to really expand on it in the future. From what James Ohlen said, they are already working on something exciting to add to it. |

I don't mind it at all.
I wouldn't want to do it all day, but I agree that it is a good break when needed- especially when you're inches away from leveling, you can run a space mission and push yourself into next level. _____________________________ |

I like to think of it as an arcade game inside my mmo. It's fun. |

While I have yet to try it I don't see the fact that it's on rails as a problem, I remember when SWG had no space component other than standing around a shuttle port waiting for like ten minutes for a shuttle and the many sounds of ion engines screaming overhead I think to have launched with a nice little diversion from the normal gameplay as a step in the right direction. |

I actually found it to be a nice change of pace and really enjoyed it. I didn't go into it with the expectation of it being a complete space emulator experience though. I did the five available quests twice last night and once again today. I'm looking forward to having more open up to me. I can see them becoming boring after so many runs, but that goes for just about anything that is repetative. I hope to see them expand the space aspects of the game in the future. I read the negative reviews about the space combat prior to going into it and wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly suprised. |

Some of my favorite shooters are Rez and Panzer Dragoon. Space combat reminds me of those games. I'm having a lot of fun with it. |
