So far I have loved TOR in just about every aspect minus their lack of most things that make MMO's fun or really even playable for casual players. I realize right now finding a group to do those heroic low and mid quests with is not that hard right now...because everyone is starting out. Before not very long there will be a lot less chars in that level range and it will be like WOW was before Dungeon Finder and if you want to get a group together for any non end game runs or quests you will have to spam for at least 30 min to hour if not longer. What does this lead to? Well it leads to people who end up getting frustrated and skipping most group quests then they end up at max level with no group skills, so noone wants to group or have them in their guild runs so they get bored and angry and cancel their subscription. Now I realize that WOW's Dungeon Finder is not perfect. It makes the game less social(I have had more runs then I can count on Dungeon Finder where party chat was never used once.) Also it leads to people acting like assholes more and NInja more. Plus it makes it possible for a char to never lead the cap city and literally level all the way up to max level(the biggest drawback to the Dungeon Finder.) I mean I would do dungeon's in Wow where I didn't even know how to get back to the dungeon when I died because I never even visited that zone before. Anyways I know this has been talked about alot but I have not seen anyone bring up how the Dungeon Finder makes the game funner for casual players that don't have or care to sit there for a hour before they can put a group together and even start a run. Thoughts do you think this will have a effect on non hardcore players not having proper group skills come end and do you think TOR will lose out on many casual subscriptions that will go places that make it easier to be a part of the group gaming aspect with limited playtime? |

Give them time. WoW established many different MMO interfaces that it didn't have in the beginning. You get used to them but Bioware probably will put them in later as the community ask for it. |

"Omg it's a wow clone"
"Omg it's not enough like wow " Besides that little nugget of irony, I would like to remind you that we all played these games just fine without Blizzard's instant gratification tools before Wow. And we can do so now. |

Absolutely we can play without them. Anyone who goes to forums here is not a casual player. I was just wondering if you think will affect casual players and therefore sub numbers. I do not want it to be a clone like I said there was alot of damage that the Dungeon Finder did to Wow. Many might say it ruined it, but it's hard to argue that their sub base did not sky rocket and the game was not more open to those players because of it. |

Originally posted by stratasaurus Does SWTOR need 100,000,000 subscribers? No. Not at all. I think a dungeon finder is unnecessary. Most of the time it doesnt even take that long to get to a dungeon in a game, and if you want to do a dungeon thats REALLY far away then go to somewhere populated near it and then look for a group. I think SWTOR will be fine without it. |

Originally posted by Wharg0ul I have noticed that trend too. Sometimes its by the same people bashing it for being a "wow clone.:" Funny stuff.
Honestly though, I'm fine with getting my group together and going where ever I need to go. I don't for the life of me understand why people want to rush a game from beta to year 7 in a couple of months. Eventually we will have a flashpoint finder/raid finder, duel specs, flying mounts, better space combat and "your list of everything that would probably make this game better" along with a smattering of half a million things other people want. Then the game will not be the game your enjoying today, you will become jaded with it and quit. Thus, the cycle begins anew. Long story short, don't rush it. |

I hope they never add a dungeon finder tool. It destroys world PvP. |

Originally posted by wireyankee That is a great point I had not thought of as I do most of my playing on PVE Servers. Also someone posted that we don't need a 100mil subscribers. That is true but more subs mean more money and it will cost a lot to design content for this game and the more money they are making the more they put into content making. |

^^ lol good way to start the thread... "It would be awesome if you could duel your companion. Then you could solo pvp".--Thanes |

Though a Dungeon Finder would do nothing for world PVP it only put you auto into a group and did not transport you to the Instance. |

Plenty of things to do while waiting for a group to form. Or hey, play a MMO like it's SUPPOSED to be played - JOIN A GUILD

As to the meeting stone system, you really don't need one. All of the flashpoints are accessible from your faction's space station and you have an ability that lets you teleport to the station instantly. |

Originally posted by stratasaurus Im glad you agree we can play without them and makes for a better social experience. If they lose a sub over this than its not someone that would of lasted more than 3 months anyway. Your post did make for some nice flame bait though. |

Originally posted by Wharg0ul I bet 3 months before they add it in. It's one of those "this should have been in at launch but we got rushed in order to meet the deadline" tool. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |
Originally posted by snapfusion How is there hypocrisy in there? I am not a casual players so they don't really bother me, I just see TOR losing lots of people that are. |
