Im gonna go ahead and call bullshit on the game running poorly...at least as a general rule it's bullshit. I own a 3 year old computer that I made myself, the graphics card is old (nvidea 9800 gt) and I have 4 gigs of ddr2 and a 2.7 4core processor...the game runs perfectly smooth on high settings. I think you are just one of those people who was going to be disappointed in the game if it wasn't your perfect combination of swg and kotor. Instead you got kotor online and you're pissed...ill therefore write you off as yet another angry swg fanboy or "vet"(I hate that you cann yourselves that, I played the game as well and would never call myself a veteran, you act like soe pyt you throug something...you were free to quit at any time.
Anyway...my point is this:the game runs fine on my system and everyone's system that I've talked to...this is the first complaint I've heard and youre ready to write bioware off as a failure? That's stupid.
I just don't understand why guildwars. Fanboys hate swtor so specifically and vehemently...don't you guys have better stuff to do?
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced. |

Yeah the game doesn't run poorly. We all know this is a troll thread, let's let it die ;). Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by aguill2 Red text is the assumption I think is very wrong. Why is it wrong? Because, MMOs aren't a massive branch in gaming industry. FPS and SRPG games beat MMOs hands down when it comes to number of players and boxes bought. Only anomality to this is WoW and it's speculative if they have had the number of real players (sweatshops and goldsellers aren real players) they say they have. MMO-developers are the only one that think they can get away with the above red text phrase, no other. If Skyrim or BF3 had been released without modern graphics, the devs would've been crusified. I've thought that graphics aren't the thing that matters in games and MMOs, but lately I've been accepting the fact that times have changed and a good game needs modern graphics to be interesting. The bar has raised from medieval times. |

Originally posted by Pelaaja You seem to share my assumption, then, since I was clearly talking about MMORPGs and not the others you had mentioned. Also, not only do MMO-developers think they can get away with it, they do.
And can you explain to me why it matters if MMOs are a massive branch in the gaming industry or not? |

Originally posted by aguill2 Yes, wide variety of people you said. MMOs aren't for wide variety of people, they have a certain audience that is ready to shell out what ever it takes to be among the next big thing.
EDIT: Just read what I posted and felt like it needs more... If MMOs really were a massive brance in gaming industry it would be right for them to go low on requirements. They just aren't and main branches (SRPG and FPS) dare to take it to the extreme when it comes to requirements, I think MMO devs are just underachieving. |

They aren't underachieving at all, they're just marketing it to as many people as they can without requiring someone to dump a few hundred bucks on hardware upgrades. |

Gotta love how fanboys always resort to personal insults when they have no arguments whatsoever. /yawn MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop). |

How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release? ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs. |

Like you correctly observed, I called "people" dumb, not someone in particular. Ergo it's not a personal insult. Besides, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what so new and revolutionary SW:TOR brought to MMO genre except VO. Until then my assessment of people who bought this game and are oh so excited about it is just common sense. MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop). |
