Playing themepark MMO's i've never felt like there's a real need to make PvP servers. People are going to get griefed by the opposing side as is, now you're going to make it worse by griefing your own side? I'd stick to the PvE server and just play for the fun of it and then if I decide to PvP then I'd just queue up for the BG's. Seriously, wouldn't people prefer to play a PvP focused game if they are more towards doing PvPing? The real pvping days are long but gone. There's always going to be a flaw in every MMO with class balancing, and the PvPers will basically be the ones ruining the classes. |

Originally posted by dreamsofwar Knowing everything about your class and all others classes in an mmo is what makes you a good pvper, that with experience and good reaction times. Facing someone and not knowing what they can do is based on LUCK wont ever catch me play a game like that, ofc it is just my opinion that counts for nothing. |

Originally posted by csthao agreed.. you still get plenty of pvp on non pvp servers and not have to deal with twice as many d-bags.. win win in my book http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Originally posted by Kidon with GW's its not like a ranger is going to all of a sudden blast a mage spell at you.. in a sense you have an idea what a player can do based on there class but do not know exactly what they are capable off since you don't know there skill set right away.. It's really not that differn't than other MMO's(rift in particular) since you honestly don't know if the player is smart or what abilities he might actually use against you.. you get a idea but never really know.. Guild wars takes the same basic concept just makes it a little tougher but I really wouldn't say its luck at all unless you view all pvp wins as luck... http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

You're not really a PVP'er if you let a seven day headstart scare you off. I probably won't be playing until late Jan. I expect to be ganked, griefed, and camped. It sucks at times, but that's just how it goes. I guess I could play on a PVE server, but I think I'd get awfully bored without the constant threat of being ganked, griefed, and camped. |

Originally posted by Zookz1 i thought same way in rift.. but enjoyed leveling my last two chars to 50 on pve server way more than I enjoyed my first 2 on pvp server.. think it has a lot to do with the community and type of people you get on pve vs pvp.. although on rift with so many zone events it made them a lot easier to finish without everyone just fighting each other.... http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/339443/Video-FollowUp-Guide-For-Enhancing-Graphics-and-Performance-in-SWTORSorry-still-Nvidia-Only.html |

Originally posted by sanosukex MMO pvp isnt only luck but a great precentage is, i love pvp and with pratice one can be better than the rest, but MMO's pvp isnt balanced wont ever be, and if on top of that u dont know what the oponent will throw at you, well that is even worse. When i pvp i want to know what i can do vs certain classes, if i use this CD at start or if i wait a bit longer because i know i have to counter this or that, or because i need to save some cd to free myself from some CC etc... to be better at pvp you also need to understand the oponent's CD's and keep track of them, but how can you do that if you dont even know what you are facing, not my cup of tea just saying.
Peace. |

Well hopefully there will be brand new pvp servers each day so that situation doesn't occur. |
