I read it some forums about pvp gear and i have some questions about it. One of the reasons i quit Aion was the huge amount of time i had to spend to get some pieces of pvp gear just because without u suck badly on that game(on pvp). Even if ur skilled u cant do shit without those and is geting rly frustating after a while. 1.how long takes u to aquire pvp gear in swtor 2.pvp gear can be good in pve also or i have to switch all the time gear if im geting ganged(thats kinda anoying) 3.i can be competitive with good pve gear in pvp or is like in aion , without it u suck Thank u(sorry for my english) |

From what I remember reading, and someone can correct me on this if I'm wrong, the best PvP gear is about 10% worse than the best raiding gear at endgame. I do know that recently one of the guilds in beta cleared Eternity Vault with many members wearing PvP gear, and were actually a bit overtuned for it. Of course, just because you CAN wear PvP gear in a raid situation won't stop the min/maxxers who run the raids from demanding that you wear the PvE stuff. But as far as I know, PvP gear doesn't gimp you like in other games. |

Then my only problem it will be if im going to spend points on geting low lvl gear or to wait till im geting high and buy nice end game items. But still dependens and how long takes me to farm for those .. |

So in other words, people that do PvE endgame raiding will reign supreme in PvP? |

There's a bonus PvP stat and a bonus PvE stat thats pretty much the only different between top end pvp gear and top end pve gear....
I'm not sure of the numbers but you can be very competitive in PvP with PvE gear, it's not like Aion where if you don't have PvP gear your toast.... I hate games where one set of gear is 10000x stronger the next set below it... thats how Aion did it and it was lame.. One of the reasons I quit that game. PvP gear should give you an advantage not a "I win button" which is what Aion did with its PvP gear.

No? This isn't Rift were at launch the PvP gear was maybe 30-40% of the Raid gear.. and 60% of the T2 dungeon gear

I think if there is not so much diferences in betwen pve and pvp gear(just some bonuses) il just focus on geting the pvp staff and il be set . i rly hope is not aion style and that makes me happy :) |

IIRC there was a stat that only PvP gear had that increased your PvP performance, so I don't think raid gear will be better than PvP gear in PvP. I don't remember what is was called, sorry. |

I'll come up with another question then. Is it possible to play at the endgame PvP ONLY and that way acquire ENTIRE PvP gear set? (As oppose to WoW where at some point it was impossible to get any weapon via PvP unless some arena rating was reached) Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation |

I noticed at lower levels during testing that PVP gear was better too... I'll be hopping in and out of questing to play HUTT BALL anyway, I can't get enough of it!! |

What kind of time is involved to get the 2 different kind of sets to the same level, do they compare with each other well or does one take more time than the other? |

I have seen some comments floating around that TOR PvP is less focused on gear stats, and more focused on the player.
It doesn't seem that gear is useless, but rather that good players are not going to 'wtfpwns' by other players, simply because they do not have the 'best' gear.

I didn't pvp much in the last build, but the build where they still had the npc's who sold the lower level PvP gear the best PvP gear the NPC sold would give you a 5% bonus in pvp damage and 5% reduction in damage taking during pvp... but they might of upped it in the last build, not 100% sure... someone mentioned they thought it was now 10% bonus....

Originally posted by robsonic No, PvP gear has a stat called expertise that only functions against players. It makes PvP gear dominant in PvP by both increasing damage to and reducing damage done by players. Ultimately it washes out when two players have the same expertise, but when a player in PvP gear goes against someone without, the damage disparity is anywhere from 20-25% at the highest valor level. This is a significant gap compared to the PvE gear stat inflation difference. |

Originally posted by Loekii Eh, not really. A PvP geared player has a pretty significant advantage over a none PvP geared player. It's not to the same extent as Wow by any means, but it's still significant. |
