After I got done the beta of Star Wars m, I had that mmo fever, you know, when the shiny is dangling infont of you dualing out all of the games you already own, So Lineage 2 Free to Play hit and I started to play it. I was like "F these control" and rage quit. Then I came back the next day and started to fiddle with the click to walk , and I was getting the hang of it, then it started to feel right to. I get so tired of the console control pvp bull shit. Jumping around , bunny hopping ect . I like the old style better, where to people stand toe to toe and blast each other into hell, Shadowbane was like that , and Lineage 2 is like that,
This kind of game play is not for everyone, but I really needed Lineage 2 to wake me up out of my SwToR coma, Watching the amazing art style of this game and all of the time and energy ncsoft has put into the game has made me a huge fan once again, I really can't see hwo anyone would bother with a P2P game when they could play one of the classics in mmo history for free. Anyone else kind get woken up again in Lineage 2 ? |

because click to move sucks "You have some serious mental issues you may need to seek some help for. There are others who post things, but do not post them in the way you do. Out of every person who posts crazy shit in this forum, you have some of the craziest and scariest" -FarReach |

no. on release i could forsee the terrible amount of grinding it would take to progress in that game. it was way to much. Dont get me wrong, i love some grinding.. i played ffxi since na release, so i know what a real challenge and grinding is about, but lineage 2 felt infinite when it came to grinding..
swtor will be a great game.. better than lineage 2 eventually if they do a few things right. |

The strong are sometimes wrong but the weak are never free. |

L2 is simply completely different. Sometimes you want a straight forward, kill what is in front of you, free to explore the world kind of game. L2 is good for that. It is mob grinding but sometimes that is better than quest grinding, especially if you get into a group, grind the mobs and enjoy the company in the meantime. SWTOR on the other hand is a much more story driven experience. If you want to jump into a story, that is, an essentially intereactive movie, then SWTOR is much better. Voices, story, directed experience. Some people prefer that, or sometimes a person is otherwise simply in the mood for that. But one in a while I just don't want to have to think though a story, or even remember it. Sometimes I just want to unwind with a beer and and a few hundred undead that need killin'. L2 is definitly much better for that. |

1. it's not click to move I never could stand those types of games. 2. it's not overly anime. 3. I do not have to grind 50 billon mobs to get one level. 4. I am not forced into pvp if I do not want to pvp. 5. If I pk someone on a pvp server I do not suffer a penalty for doing so. 6. Questing actually feels like it means something. 7. No over sized weapons that are bigger than the players bodies. 8. It's not a fantasy setting like the 1 gazillion mmos before it. 9. No pre teen female toons with oversize boobs. 10. Voice over just makes everything seem so much better. 11. An MMO that has an actual story that makes sense and not just thrown together. 12. It's not F2P I hate F2P games because in the end you, end up paying more than what you would with a sub. With all of the nickel and diming these models use. inventory cap, money cap, limited to no AH use, chat restrictions just to name a few. Not saying that these are in L2, but that has been the norm in all other F2P titles. I am sure I could name more but I think you get the point, I would choose TOR every time over L2. |

Originally posted by Gormok That for which I high lighted is why SWtOR fell off for me in term of pvp adrenalin. The consquences of killing another player are part of the excitment for me in Lineage 2, if you go red, you are a marked soul. In Shadowbane, if you are pk;d the excitement and adrenalin came from the items that where now on your tombstone free for anyone to loot. In age of Conan, you get rewarded for killing other players so thers that excitment of never knowing when you will die next
Not having pentalties or any reason for pking or pvping and letting people kill at will is very vanilla and boring to me. |

Originally posted by Clubmaster22 well, lineage and lineage 2 were both pvp oriented and there were no issues there. and star craft is a lasso your men and use the mouse to point to where they should go. and that has pvp. So people's brains shut off as soon as they have to fight another person? |

I'm just going to play both atleast for the first month or so of SWTOR to see how it progresses. If I like what I see then I'll stay if not I'll just play L2. High Five FTW! |

I can spend years playing lineage 2, I really didn't get the feeling the SwTOR had that kind of depth. With any story driven game, the story ends. LotrO is going to be the pinnacle on how to end a story and beable to continue the game world after,,, Actually Lotro is the only tru Story based game. SWtOR is simply a bunch of chained together events that raslly never actually happened in the SW universe |

Originally posted by Sovrath never played baldur's gate and dungeon siege but I did play NWN and it did have wasd and worked perfectly. click to move really takes me out of the game as it feels like I am talking into my characters ear and saying "take 5 steps to the right and then turn to the right again and take 30 paces" while in wasd I feel like I am in control of the character and its body.
