Well I hate to tell you guys, but thats almost all top Raiding guilds, Ensidia was caught doing the very same thing and there one of the major guilds EA wanted to please. Its one of the reasons I didn't want TOR to be a Themepark raiding mmo, these are they type of players it attracts. They get in steep competitions to clear the content first and will cheat to get bragging rights over the other raiding guilds. It has nothing to do with mmorpgs they only care about raiding. |

There will be exploiting in any game. I remember getting unlimited men in Super Mario bros on NES by jumping up and down on a turtle. |

HAHAHAHAAHAHA world first will be tainted cus top guilds got banned he says in that article. They got banned cus they cheated, they deserve it, the world firsts WOULD have been tainted if they let cheaters prosper. Good job Blizz for following through and doing what needed and should have been done.
Shame on you Blizz for letting such an obvious series of bugs go Live, tempting those POOR POOR exploiters.
Puts a smile on my face every time I think about those "pros" raging cus they got what they deserved.
Edit: Aww its the tankspot guy too huh? Man i respected him, ah well now I think hes a self entitled jerk. |

Hate to tell you this but all those WoW fanbois you are so worried about are the same folks who beta tested SW:TOR. You can't escape them because they play all the games, not just WoW.
As for exploits, that's the fault of any game company resorting to players as primary game testers. If they actually paid people to test their games they'd be able to find thier own bugs and neutralize them before they were broadcast across the entire internet as a strategy on how to do it. It's human nature to exploit weaknesses... putting the mice in charge of the cheese only promotes it. |

Actually, the majority of those banned were from the EU (where the 'race' is far more competetive - with sponsorships and such) |

Many of those guilds have been caught multiple times in almost every expansion exploiting. Ensidia got a 72 hour ban for their "saronite bomb" exploit in Wrath, on the Lich King fight so its pretty much business as usual for them. They know that Blizzard isn't going to completely ban them so they really dont have much incentive to not use any exploit that they find. What is funny is that many of them try to play the victim like if they didn't know what they were doing was wrong lol.
Wouldnt suprise me one bit if all these "top guilds" gave each other the exploit so that if one got caught they all would get caught causing the whole "real" race for the "world firsts" to be postponed until the end of the ban. Got to love competitive gaming but hey!!.. lets bring that to SWTOR! because nothing keeps a community together like catering to these mentalities and praising guilds that cheat to win! HEAVEN OR HELL |

Too bad it's going to happen anyway. We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics. |

Originally posted by Cavod I don't want cheaters in general, why does this have to be a "WOW VS" thread? Lets just all agree that cheaters suck, and that they should not play TOR, no mater what other games they were from before. |

The problem with calling them exploits is that it's only a label from a developer after they realize someone is using the game in a creative way.
Originally posted by pmiles It's hard not to insult someone who regurgitates this type of naive comment. However, lets just say someone is suicidal with their company and put you in charge of game testing a new MMO being released in a few months. You hire 300 testers to test your game continually for 3 months at $10.00/hr. That's easily going to be over $1.5 million just for 3 months of testing and not even getting 150,000 testing hours. Yes, there are bad apples, and yes, games will and do have bugs during their entire lifetime but chalking it up to having for-free testers essentially holding back exploits is the fault of the game developer? Surely you jest. I think you should put down the joint because your paranoia is getting the best of you. |

Originally posted by Juggerz So a guild that exploits WoW and gets banned is coming to SWTOR so they can probably exploit there too and, yes, once again, be banned. I suppose all we can hope for is that those guilds end up on the same server, secluded from the rest of the SWTOR community. Currently Playing: LOTRO - SWTOR - PS2 - BF3 Waiting For: Camelot Unchained cause Mark Jacobs is a friggin genius. |
