i received the email saying that pre-loading has started.... through that email i went to swtor site, logged in and downloaded the client and pre-loaded it.... didnt touch origin... try that way

Yep, just waiting for SWTOR.com to come back up now :)

 

Should I delete the Weekend Beta client?

Some say yes, some say don't bother. Me? I got the email saying to delete it to insure a clean install. So I did, though I might not have had to. You decide.

Depending on what you've read elsewhere, this weekend must be hell for SWTOR/EA/BioWare. A lot of E-mails have to be generated and sent out to the pre-orderers to let them know what day they qualify for early access, guilds have to be assigned servers, and SWTOR forums are being (or were) wiped and reconfigured to only allow those who will be playing the game to access it.

Not to mention that the start of early access was bumped up two days earlier. They probably would have liked those extra 48 hours.

it isnt three days before launch its three days before early access and 7 days before launch. They are upgrading teh site to handle all the traffic.

Pre-ordered the digital download from Origin, got an early acess code at the same time. Entered it on SWTOR site. When you log in it says if you're all set up for early access. Got an email from the SWTOR site a few days later saying the client download was ready. Downloaded it overnight. Still no email about when early access begins for me. If you didn't do any of this before they brought the site down- you're SOL.

Pretty much the same I encountered. Yes OP.  If you pre ordered via Origin you should have recieved instructions in the email clearly telling you the process to follow. At least I did on the receipt email I got when buying it. Redeemed the code you get in the email on SWTOR site whilst logged in my account. Now just got to wait for the early access email. You'll need to find and redeem the code on the account section of the website once its back up after the weekend.

Could be worse. Could be going through this phase while their houses are on fire... again. I was there over the summer while this was going on, and it wasn't pretty.

I don't believe I stated that anywhere.  I was just mentionining I don't believe they'll have the site down until the 13th, it's just not good business.  Not to mention the webteam GENERALLY SPEAKING has nothing to do with the game outside of website development :P.

Not sure if you recall how bad it was over Thanksgiving, but it was a bit rough in the early hours. Now picture that multiplied by the biggest single soft launch in a long, long time, only to expect probably the biggest launch of all time. No fanboyism there, it is the stated expectations of many. Numbers seem to lean toward supporting it, as previously discussed in other threads that I simply don't care to repeat.

Oh I completely agree, I remember they broke the Pre-Order record way back in July.  I believe it'll break 2m+ subscribers on the 20th.

Also, site came back up recently - Pre Loading now 8).
