Yeah, me too. I cancelled my pre-order on Amazon earlier today. I can see where people will like the game and I'm glad it will keep them entertained, but this kind of MMO just isn't for me anymore. I thought the KOTOR light/dark decision element might add some interest, and it did offer a little, but not enough to keep me as a sub. I think the game is well executed technically and I was impressed with the lack of lag/crashes/etc that I experienced in beta relative to many other MMOs. But in the end, the gameplay was all too familiar. For the type of game it is, it is well done - it might even have the potential to become the best of it's type out there - but for me, that type of game no longer seems to hold my interest. |

Playing the Beta has helped me decide that this is a No Buy for me. Despite the Faction/Class Storylines, the game as a whole is just a shallow, linear Themepark. And not a very good one at that. Tried: EQ2 - AC - EU - HZ - TR - MxO - TTO - WURM - SL - VG:SoH - PotBS - PS - AoC - WAR - DDO - SWTOR |

Personally I really like the game. I'm still buying it. The only thing is with Lineage 2 going ftp and GoD on the way.. I've found myself FAR more excited about that. Could be because L2 still resounds with me the best being that it was the first MMO I stuck with past a few months but yeah.. I've no doubt that I'll love SWTOR. From what I hear the story only gets better as you go and I thought 1-13 was pretty darn good. Nothing wrong with having cake and eating it too. |

I had high expectations and I already have cancelled my preorder!!! Severely Dissapointed!
1. The camera sucks big time. When you have to turn its a knee jerk reaction there is no fluid movement with camera angles and the running motion of the characters suck. They should have spent more time on these 2 items than the voiceovers.
2. The story is okay but I got bored fast no matter what option you chose it just changed the response but didn't really do anything to the overall feel of the game. The option's are just there for kicks and comedy!
3. The combat wasn't as fluid as I hoped it would be and didn't like the cooldown on the skills. You hit one skill and had to wait for the skill flash to come down before you could do another.
4. The mobs were nothing special at all. Rock monsters and some space dudes. The combat just didn't appeal to me at all.
5. Finally Like someone else mentioned when normally Play mmos there is something that makes you want to login , but Star wars just didn't have that feeling. Its missing something just doesn't have that AWE factor that other mmos have.
If the game appeals to you then more power to you < I just don't see myself paying $15 dollars a month for this type of linear game! Good luck to all ! I would give you a guest pass to SWOTR, but then I wouldn't be able to find a way to live with myself afterwards.... |

And i don't like that the game force you to go here and there and do this and that. The freedom to explore seem to be poor. And when you blow up something to change the world it don't change anything, someone else will do the same 1 min later... and evil or good seem useless. I don't like the Huttball and the other PvP areas I have seen, seem boring. I don't like the cloths and the weapons are freaking huge and ulgy. Also the monsters look like poo and the AI seem to be a bit stupid. Too much fluff in this game. Look too childish for me. I think Bioware are doing same misstake like Funcom did with AoC. They talk and talk about how great and epic everything is... then it will fail. |

Probably won't cancel my pre-order, but I am still very disappointed. The world is too static, the character creation too limited, the models and animations too clunky and the story somewhat unengaging. As it stands, I would have preferred Kotor 3 or at least a Kotor 2 remake. AC (retired); EQ (retired); DAoC (retired); Horizons (retired); EQII (retired); CoH (retired); AC II (tested); Lineage II (beta); Neocron (tested); Saga of Ryzom (beta); SWG (retired)... |

I know my best friend was into MMOs back in the day when it was new to him but he got bored of MMOs in general because they never ended. He is more into single player games with a story that ends. Then he spends another 60 bucks and buys another RPG game. To me trying to dramtically change the game play of MMOs is like trying to reinvite the wheel. You either like MMOs or you don't. |

I have seen Beta videos from TOR and Guild Wars 2 after which I Cannot find a single reason not to play GW2 over TOR, its superior in every aspect of gameplay, the pvp is competitive, TOR pvp, is bad, really really bad, Character creation and more sandbox elements, TOR loses that one. I dont think TOR can even compete with RIFT much less GW2 or WOW... It MIGHT give WAR or AOC a run for their money. |

Originally posted by Faelsun Yeah, I pretty much disagree with all of that. I expect to play both TOR and GW2, but I find MANY aspects of TOR that I feel are superior to GW2, which is why TOR will be my main game and GW2 will be a change of pace. And Rift shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as TOR. TOR is far superior in just about every way. I know---I've played both. Btw, hard to take your opinion too seriously when you all but admitted you are basing it entirely on gameplay videos, instead of actual time in the game. The gameplay videos of TOR do not do it justice at all. It's something that has to be experienced first hand to be appreciated. |

I was undecided before and im undecided after because i got experience i pretty much expected (got 1 char to 23 and 1 to 13) Class quests are generally good. Sidequests vary, but there are more (boring) bad ones than good ones. General feeling is they went for quantity over quality here unfortunately. Gameplay is same as any other generic MMO. Not too much of a decider, but meh. TBH combat feels like DA2 the most (style and such) Art could be much better, graphics is pretty bad (additionally game runs badly for such low graphics), UI is abbysmal (hope that its just placeholder, cause if it launches with that....). Overall, if i would have to rate BETA weekend, its 5/10. If they fix all (most of) obvious things for release id give it 7,5/10. Mostly because dreadful lack of innovation in any area except story and things related to story. Will still see how it goes, it is BW and i do have soft spot for them ;P (ratings are given purely on fun factor compared to other games ive played and ive been gaming since '85, and no, just saying "its MMO" is not excuse for many things) Oh, and did i mentioned recycled environments. Why, oh, why did they do that again after all negative feedback they got for ME2/DA2 :( |

Had planned to buy this; found the beta a very mediocre, routine mmo - won't be buying. Thankful for the beta opportunity.

For the time, money, & Star wars license Who would of thought Bioware wouldn't produce an epic game? Honestly, I feel they've failed to live up to expectations that would push it past wow or become the next gen MMO. Its way to wow like and not enough innovation & open worldness. There is no sense of exploration, only follow the next quest objective. The game is way to generic, cookie cutter, and feels hastily put together in many aspects of the game. For all their focus on guilds and grouping how do you forget to put in a guild bank? or have guild incentitives?
I think the biggest let down for me was just the general lack of innovation and how SW;TOR has taken a step backwards in many MMO aspects.
Why hasnt any MMO taken the great features from SWG yet and ran with them? limited Player cities that can be captured/destroyed, player housing, a very detailed crafting system, vast planets that make for great exploration & resource gathering, hunting trips, warfare, etc.

I don't quite get people who say that they will get both. Do you read two books at the same time, too? Both, TOR and GW2, will have a fairly involved storyline that you'll want to stick with unless you are just power-leveling through the whole thing. I don't see how you can put down one game for any length of time and not lose the connection to the game. Because of this and TOR's monthly tithe I was going to go and stick with GW2. But after the beta weekend I'm tempted to spend some time and money in TOR, especially since GW2 seems unlikely to arrive before late spring or mid-year. (no need to flame, I wish it got here sooner, too). TOR does have good graphics, lightsabers, good storyline (as far as I got into it at least), ok to good voice-overs, and did I mention lightsabers!? Once GW2 hits I'm pretty sure I'll drop TOR as playing the beta reminded me too much of GW1 (never played WoW). Everything is static, almost all NPC stand around, questing, running around, finding a guy in the woods who wouldn't give you the time of day unless you had his quest active. I'm actually a little concerned about the game. I just don't see it cracking 9 out of 10. A good solid 8, even 8.5, sure thing. But for 9 or above it feels too much like been there, done that. Or are VOs now the new shiny graphics?
