3) is there realm vs realm conflict at all ?

7) what does this game bring to your desktop that others may not do as well(why play this game ? )

Yes, there's crafting. Usually the highest levels of gear can only be obtained through crafting or if you get lucky enough from a drop (but the drop rates are rather low). However, only dwarves can craft these items. If I remember correctly, with Goddess of Destruction other classes would be able to craft some basic items, but I'm not 100% sure.

2)pvp  ..is there player looting ?

No, there's no player looting. However, if the player you killed has more than 5 PK points, there's a chance for his items to drop. At least that was the system until now.

3) is there realm vs realm conflict at all ?

No. It's a FFA PvP. Conflicts are usually between clans and alliances.

4) No housing...right ?

There are clan halls, fortresses and castles that your clan can own. Up until now there has been no player housing. Not sure whether they've added something like what you're asking for in GoD.

5) will the new server be open on the 30th ?

No idea.

6) gender locked classes ?

The majority of the classes are not gender locked. Only the Kamael race have some differences between the classes based on gender.

7) what does this game bring to your desktop that others may not do as well(why play this game ? )

Great FFA PvP with castle sieges, territory wars and politics; great for community building, since practically this game is most fun when you're being social. Playing it for nostalgia reasons.

8) any ranged damage dealing classes I should consider  that are great pvp classes ?

All classes have their strong and weak points. And game balance differs from chapter to chapter. I haven't played during the last 2 updates, so I can't really answer this question. 

 

Also if I've given some missinformation about something that has been changed, since I last played, please correct me.

Additional notes:

1. For making a crafter, you have to play a rather boring class (Dwarven Warsmith). The plus of this class is that you can actually mass farm on a Dwarf, i.e. get a couple lowlevel mobs and kill them all with polearm area effects. The AFAIK only other class that can do that is Warlord (human specialized polearm user).

Mind I havent played Lineage 2 since over a half decade, so my information might be outdated ... I never saw the Kamael, for example, and I consider the very idea of that race extremely ugly.

Actually the dwarf got a few skill updates and buffs that make leveling one much faster and much more fun. And there was more mixing between classes and skills in Hi5 as far as I know, but I never played that one.

About the Kamaels, I personally used to love them (especially playing a Berzerker and Soul Hound).

1. There is crafting, and pretty straight forward altthough at times risky.  

2.  If I recall correctly not anymore.

3. It is guild vs guild, or clan vs clan, not really realm based.

4. As of right now no, Lineage 1 I think had housing if I remember.

5.  Don't know.

6. No gender locked classes when you awaken.

7.  Unique art, and music and world.

8. Try out an archer or mage see what you like.

I think they already answered you question, there is nothing important to say... BUT

I have to defend the dwarves :P
They are a great race, and WS is, imho, a very nice class. You have an important place in sieges and crafting. yea its a bit bored, when you have to craft lot of low lvl items, but believe me, when you craft you first S+ weapon or armor, or when you craft a foundation item, thats a great feeling :P

And its true that they have now new skills for PvP and PvE that introduce dwarves in the action world :P
None can say that dwarves are bad in pvp, couse their stun and high HP make them just a kind of mid-tank xD

Well, Im not trying to change the topic, but its necesary to say as you asked some info abour crafting, that characters CANT add a WARSMITH sublcass to his mai nchar. Lets say crafters can only be played as main characters.

Archers are like the worst class type in the game atm. They seem to do good now again in GoD, since they already got nerfed. Will see how it turns out. But as it is now they are w-e-a-k. Even a pain in the ass to find good party if you play one.

When will I encounter the community? Seems like everyone is busy solo grinding or botting lvl 19 and no one has even talked to me in game. The underground elven fortress is the busiest loneliest place on earth.

Gonna be starting on Wednesday, playing a tankish type if anyone has a noobie guild or wants someone to friend with.

I have played the last couple days just getting familiar with the game

It will come, you are just meeting the wrong people, without the community you can't do shit on higher levels.

To all new players.... I suggest not playing the game till the new update hits, it will be much easier to get into it with the revamped starting zones and you will have new servers to start on.

lots of crafting but only dwarves craft except for what is called "common craft". These items are things like dyes or some cosmetic items.

no player looting. It used to be that you dropped items if you were Red ([player killer) but I dont' know if that is being changed.

there are clan halls which give benefits. I think they are expanding the choices as it used to be that only the richest/most organized clans got a hall. There is a hall you can compete for with a pve game.

This is a full scale ffa pvp game where politics is the name of the game. Doesn't mean yuo have to participate but it's more like a world than a theme park mmo

archers are great spellhowlers are great. The light elf mage use to be a great pvp class.

After hitting lvl 20 and losing the ability to use my shadow weapon I officially hate this game.

A well geared Archer is not badd at all. Against a Tank you can forget about it but Archers are very good at high level with proper gear and skills.

Look to purchase a Common Item from the store. They are pretty cheap.

I have some noob questions myself!

1) Healing Classes, what are they and how do they differ? What is the best pure healer?

2) Any tips for getting gear at low levels?

3) Good places to level and time sinks that I should avoid?

Any tips for L2 in general, it seems distinct from other MMO's.

Help me understand. I can't have a dwarf crafter ...and other characters as well ??  Does having a dwarf crafter preclude having other non crafters  I can xp with ??

Can a character just craft..being fed materials from some of your other characters ?
