After 14 h of playing i can just say it is best MMO game ever. It is hard to pick class for playing because every single class have amazing story and different starting planet. You can feel SW world in every aspect of game and you feel like real hero. Game is not linear at all and you can choose different path almost in every quest. Huge wordls made for exploring. PVP is smooth and balanced even better from WOW. Crafting is awesome and you can spend weeks if you like this kind of things. But best part of game is epic story. like if you are actor in some movie

There are a lot of new things in this game. Many of us find it a refreshing change from the boring monotonous quest grind of most mmo's.

Your mileage may vary, but there are several things they have done that are new to the genre. Just becaue you dont like them, doesn't mean they aren't there.

There is nothing new, same old kill x amount quest grind with added cut scenes to make you feel special.

"Fanboys" aren't the ones crying. We love the game and point out all the ways we love the game as much as possible. We like talking about it because it's a fun game to us. 

The story and the VO are exactly what make this game refreshing and new to us. I don't feel like I'm grinding quests when I play, which is one of my most hated activities. I usually hate leveling, questing, grinding, etc with a passion. In this game I barely notice it. Everything feels meaningful to me. May not feel that way to you, but that is why I love it.

So, you see, when you say that the only thing new is the vo and story, that is exactly what sold me on this game. That is exactly why I enjoy it over every other MMO I've ever played. It is actually fun to level for me and not a chore or a grind. I get caught up in the story and end up lost in the world for hours. 

Just because I disagree with you on the quality of this game, doesn't mean you need to throw insults and personal attacks at me. My opinion and the many many many other players who will enjoy this game are just as valid as yours. We'll be voting with our wallets and so can you by not buying it.

I'm saying this because a lot of times i have played a new MMO and thought wow this is awesome, but then after maybe 50-100 hours i really see that it's not that awesome...

 That is all. If he is having great time then good but don't be delighted too fast (especially with a MMO, 14 hours is nothing) or you could be very disappointed later.

It's new because it tells you to go kill 10 gnorks, and the next quest is kill 10 gnorks also!

i'm patching to get ino the beta right now i am keeping my enthusiasim moderatye. I worry i get caught up on the hype train and then get let down especially since last night i tried the swg air ground combat and realized tor might not have this for over a year if ever given the game engine they are using.  i'm also bothered by how boring the jedi path seem based on beta tester feed back....maybe its human nature i dunno but i'd think LA woulda wanted the jedi to have the bigger appeal?  Its gonna irritate peopel but i'd like to see non instance housing as part of endgame ...something to aspire to attain.  I dunno once i'm in beta i'll see

I see what you're saying and it's a very good point.

Can we ever really tell when something is going to bore us 400 hours in though? Sometimes you just have to find out for yourself. If someone enjoys the game this much in the beginning then surely they'll get their money's worth out of a $60 dollar purchase even if they don't play it for a year. Most games that aren't MMO's don't last that long, you usually pay $60 for less than 50 hours of gameplay with most single player games. I think that if you like it early on, you'll surely get your money's worht out of it. 

I consider myself very lucky to have been given the amount of time with this beta that I have and been able to see so much of the game before I made my decision to buy it or not. Believe it or not, I was actually pretty luke warm on this game for a long time. My expectations were surpassed during my time with the game. Not everyone will agree with me, for sure, and not everyone has had the same opportunity as me to see large portions of the game, but many will enjoy it for a long time to come regardless. 

If the OP gets bored in a month and quits, I'm quite sure it won't be the first time they have done that.

From what i played of the game i like it call me what you will but look at it from a  company standpoint  you going to  make something  really new without knowing it'  would sale well  or build upon what you know works and add the new to it to make it way better it's a no brainer.

That's simply not what the quests are like in this game. The optional bonus quests are like that, but they are optional, like I said. If you hate that kind of quest you don't ever have to do it.

We don't think it's new because of the quests, or the combat, or the character progression or any of that stuff. We think it's new because of the story, the voice acting, and the immersion.  If you have played the game and didn't really care about the story or didn't feel the immersion, then this game isn't for you. Simple as that. Move along.

Well they were the 2 first quests i had to do, kill 10 gnorks, or whatever name they put, then close a cave, which was just killing more gnorks until you reach and NPC that closes the cave for you (lol). I think it's the lamest MMO start i have seen ever .

Jedi knight starting quest - I saw in the video. You actually had to go kill 10 mobs, then you get a holocall, and you were sent to a cave to walk it through killing same mobs. It's actually looked very funny, kill 10 rats all over again, huh. :)

Even Rift "hooked" me to buy the box, even tho i've quit it after the free month. This one started to smell after the first hour. And "it's beta" or "they'll patch it" wont fix it, it's the core of the game which the so-called "haters" don't like. I wear perfume and clean clothes when i get out, cuz i want to create a nice first impression. Everyone has the option to like whatever he wants tho.
