For me I find TOR dull and lacklustre. For a game that's classed a MMO is just huge step backwards in the letters MMO.

I am enjoying it a great deal. I've pre-ordered and looking forward to whatever early access day is sent my way. This is the 3rd character I created and I do agree with a few things that were said. I think they could have done more with the character customization. It's a little disconcerting in group 'chat rolls' to hear my voice and realize it's another character. I know that's because each class has it's own entire VO for quests and more voice options would mean 4 or 5Xs the amount of VO recordings. That and I would like to see more mobility on some of the NPCs

Neither of those is a game breaker, just a 'would like to see'.

Will I play this for the next 2-3 years? Probably not. Will I get a year out of it. At this point I would say probably so.

But, there is a class for everyone, i could not stand trooper gameplay while a colleaugue of mine utterly loves it.

So try out the classes untill you find one you like.

I find this game extremely fun.  Unlike other games where I played for maybe 1 hour before stopping knowing this game will not be for me.  Warhammer, Rift, LOTRO.  In this game quests matter again, no quest texts, just sit and watch and pay attention to the movie.  I like it!!

Really enjoying it.. In beta with my guild and group play is a blast.. We all want different options and I giggle every time my selection wins.. Playing with others is a must.. And no its not anything new.. Oh wait its Star wars MMO with very nice voice over and a good story.. Hmmm Honestly its a step up from what we have on the market now.. Far more emersive and for me.. entertaining.. Which is the point.. Not disappointed at all.. Oh and I have been running it at maxed out everything and its smooth as silk. Never been a huge fan of stylized graphics but they have done a nice job on them and it doesn't bother me one bit here :)

Raiding from what I heard is just as worthless as it is in wow, there is no point to gathering raid gear when there is nothing else left to use it for (More raids do not count), but on the flip side, at least in swtor everyone gets their own loot cache, so no fighting over who gets what, this at least makes it a tad better than wow's system imo.

Overall I am not impressed at all by what I have seen so far, nothing I have seen has made me go "Hmm this looks like it might be a good game" but it has made me go "Aww dammit yet another damned world of warcraft clone/wannabe with biliant copy and pasting from wow (Classes, combat system, quest system etc) like rift was/ended up to be.

Like my sig says I am a pessimist so I might try the game and be wonderfully surprized, but in general I do not expect much of anything out of swtor, especally since EA is involved, heard their origin thing is bascally malware, that installs hidden stuff on your pc etc without asking.. least thats what I heard.

The reason most non-themepark mmo's never do well is mostly due to lack of budget, and devs with a budget are to scared to do anything else besides clone world of warcrafts gameplay, systems and mechanics. lets have bethesda do a sandbox mmorpg I bet you it will own since they like specilize in those kinds of games, and they got the budget they could make a damned good one I bet.

The combat in swtor just does not look fun to me, its the same generic crap that every wow clone has, it just looks boring. I am a big fan of killing things in these games, if the combat is poor (which swtor's combat looks to be since its bascally copy and pasted from world of warcraft, and wow's combat bored me). I just can't seem to get into the game. I don't play a mmo for story, and a story driven mmo is pretty fail imo, should just be a single player game. Who really pays attention to a story in a mmo? 90% of mmo players don't. Again i'll have to try the game tomorrow, but these are the greivences I am going into it with.

The no faction vs faction pvp system was a major let down, i was expecting some epic pvp with land control on the pvp planet, not some boring anyone can kill anyone ffa crap they spewed out, its pointless, where as land control with faction wide bonuses has a purpose. in Rising force online every 8 hours the 3 races war for control of a mine, the mine gives upgrade materials, crafting materials, and if you want, raw hard cash too, so its worth fighting for it (consdering u can mine afk or havbe a automated mining thing do it for you while u do other things).

I am glad though that people who are able to play the game now are finally relizing what I been saying about how swtor is just another World of Warcraft . If games like this keep succeeding, this is all we will have left, are boring wow-cloned themeparks and nothing new or innovative will come out anymore. I've lost interest in mmo's because like I said all that coming out are bascally world of warcraft clones and no dev tries anything diffrent. I am personally waiting for Phantasy Star Online 2, because it'll be nothing like a WoW clone at all. I can't wait.

Your entire rant on FFA pvp is in regard to one minor zone on Tatooine... The faction v faction pvp you want with the land control points and bases and such is on the entire endgame planet of Ilum. Aswell as traditional meaningless killing open world pvp on all the other planets.

Atleast do a shred of research before bashing the game.

To sum it up, TOR feels like SWG and KOTOR gave birth! Except TOR is more bug free than most MMOs years old!

I'm loving it.  Vanguard and Sith Assassin are fun as hell.  It's everything they promised and a bit more. This game has a lot of potential to go a long way.

It is a great game. It is not an mmorpg in my oponion, it is really Kotor online, which is simply amazing . I wish they would of  scraped the Clone Wars models and went with pure kotor models.

I agree with a lof of the faults like Ui, some of the art, and horendous character creator, but the story and diaglogue is blowning my mind at this point.

I like it, keeping my CE order. Granted I don't agree with every  feature (crafting, space, housing) but better than everything else on the market (for what I want in a mmo).

I like the game very much.  Over two beta weekends i played Both Jedi class's, and the trooper, also played sith inquisitor and bounty hunter. 

The one thing I do not like in this game is the non Jedi/Sith classes.   They just feel out of place IMO Trooper was fun to play as was the bounty hunter, but when I joined groups both playing as or with, the shooting (or call them ranged) class's feel awkward.  With the questing and instance's.

I can see why they put them in the game, to appel to a lot more SW fans and to be different from other MMO's.  But as fun as they are,  I doubt I will roll non jedi class's when the game comes out.  Tho I would have to see what they are like in PvP maybe that is where they are more suited and fun to play.

Iv played a few hours so far, well more then I think.  It instantly drew me in, good thing.  I dont feel like the world is ending because im gaming and not doing something more constructive which is always a good sign of a game that is developed well. 

I been waiting ever since this game was announced, glad to finally get my hands on it.  Didnt take me to long to set my self up with bindings and in game settings.  I was running a smooth 70 fps on my laptop in no time and it felt really great. 

First time I steped out of the starting building I said, "wow" so it was good sight and not a heavy hit on FPS like some bad optimized games can do when the draw distance gets further.  I really like the cover system although watching my character fly across the screen to the cover spot was a bit funny, im sure they will change that to some extent.  The first report to give I didnt give it all that great scores, just medium low, but whe the next one came when I was around the quest to kill the guy near his transport vehicle and destroy his droids at around 6 I gave it the best rating.  The quests started to flow really well and was something i never really experienced before granted its a small tiny thing in the game and I havent played any Bioware games to speak of although funny thing is Iv owned some. 

So I just finished the part Heroic area where you have to kill the droids inside the underground base thingy, this is for imperial agent sorry forgot to mention.  Had to stop because of maintenance.  Liking it so far though, I voted one from the top. 

To be honest, it kind of feels generic to me; like I've played it before. The dialog is certainly a cool gimick, but I doubt it will have lasting value (after a few hours, I was just skipping most of it anyway) and the rest just feels like a mashup of other MMOs with some Star Wars paint. I can see the appeal to some people, and Im sure it will have an audience who love it, but I kind of expect it to follow the population pattern of Warhammer Online, where a ton of people pre-order it, subscriptions rocket up, and then crash back down as servers are merged. I could be wrong of course. =P

I guess I just don't think there is enough here to justify bailing on all the progress I have made in my current MMO du jour.

Troopers and Bounty Hunter, amazing storyline. I have already pre ordered the game. i also fell in love with companion system and crew crafting.

I got preorder, but I don't consider it awesome. For an mmorpg, it will definitely keep me for a couple months or so, I plan on playing at least two characters to the end so far. Will be really interesting to see how content post launch goes.
