The Vanguard team has announced that from Wednesday, November 23rd through Saturday, November 26th, players will be treated to holiday XP gains.

Greetings Heroes! There will be a bonus applied to all experience this holiday week. This means Crafting, Adventuring, and Diplomacy. The bonus experience starts at 7:15 a.m. PST on Wednesday, November 23rd and will end at 7:15 a.m. PST on Saturday November 26th.

I don't understand how them giving a bonus xp weekend equates to them seeing Vanguard's potential for what it is. If they truly felt that way, they would be working on monthly content updates.

The bonus xp is just a carrot to keep the players they do have interested. Nothing more.

Vanguard really is a good game. I'd certainly come back if they offered a nice new ftp server. There is something about a new server that makes joining so enticing.

SoE knew its potential.  They spent two years working on it.  Nobody seemed to care (ie sub numbers continued to go down, not up) and it was costing them money so they stopped.

I was hoping Vanguard would go Free to Play.. or at least with that option. I loved Vanguard. Perhaps I'll return someday for old times sake :)

They actually are planning updates for the game again, I actualy re-subbed, have not been on since launch, and its become my new favorite MMO.

VG is one of the best games around still, dont get it why people dont see that tbh.

The only thing about the game is that there just aint so many people playing and the world is kinda deserted.

reason i aint playing is the following:

last update was.....Hotfix 01/20/10 - January 20, 2010

I aint paying for a game that isnt evolving anymore.

Few would argue with you that the game isn't good.

But the game is run by Sony, which gives a bad flavour to many gamers, especially on this site.

The game has had no updates for almost two years, and only a week ago a minor update was announced. Games that don't get updates for that long will lose people.

The game had a very bumpy launch, and thus it has been blacklisted by many forever. Granted the game was improved quite a lot, but there are still many bugs around that have been there since day one.

It's definitely a nice game, I have gone back over the last years a few times, and it remains on my watchlist. But seeing how the Sony games are getting turned into cash cows I think I'm going to keep my money for a while and see where it's going.
