Unfortunately BioWare could never get that part right in any game of theirs. Especially the way you get to your ship and depart for another planet. I sometime really expected the game to say "You must gather your party before venturing forth" :P. I am curious to see after how many days people are going to start to complain about the ship traveling. Expect to see WoW-like portals soon ;) SWTOR will be hugely successful, it could just have been more than it is right now. |

Originally posted by tuppe99 It is senseless because Bethesda has never made a MMO before so this OP is based on assumptions and his own expectations from bethesda of what it could be. No one can be 100% certain if whatever OP said would even make into Bethesda version of SWTOR IF they had made it. He is projecting his own ideas by using bethesda as an excuse. |

Interesting topic. I dont agree completely with the OP, I do think story is important. But the topic itself is good. The only game from Bethesda that I have played(and playing) is Skyrim. I haven't touched any of the older ones because I never had a good enough PC to run them. But I must say that Skyrim is amaizing, I love this game and the way they have designed it. The open world, exploring, epic scale this game has is just outstanding and I do believe any MMO could learn from this. For me it almost feels like what GW2 dynamic events should feel like, if they feel anything close to running around in Skyrim they will suceed.
Now as far as Bethesda making Tor, thats would be a completely different game. I have played many Bioware games and I must admit their storytelling and polish are top notch. So if Bethesda made Tor it would be more of a sandbox with probably many bugs, but still very very intersting. A game that would focus on exploration and letting you figure out your story rathen than having the story play like a movie for you. Its two completely different games and both good in my book. |

Originally posted by Supersoups Senseless? Dude, get a grip. Bioware never made an mmo either, this is their first time around. NO ONE can be sure of SWOTOR's success neither can anyone be certain that Bethesda can NOT do equally or better a job. This topic was made based upon my personal opionion and long observation. I have extensive experience playing the games from both developers so I'm not just blindly trying to support one side based upon the desperate desire for SWOTOR to be a huge success. I've been a BIG fan of Bioware games for years, I've encouraged countless friends and family members to buy their games. My wife became an avid fan of their games as well so do not judge my motives when you don't even know me from jump. I've been excited for SWOTOR since I heard about it and believed years ago that no other company could do this game justice like Bioware could (for an mmorpg). I honestly believed that. Years have passed and my opinions have changed. Based upon extensive experience completing games from both companies, Bethesda stands as the victor in my opionion. This is not a bash. I hope SWOTOR does well as I and my wife will be playing it this Christmas holiday regardless of how well it does. What this thread is is simply an opionion and observation. Just because I like a game doesn't mean I would not be critical or honest about it. |

If Bethesda made TOR, then I would not be playing it. It is that simple for me. The reason is pretty simple, I have not liked any of there games and I have tried them all. They just are not the types of games I like. I can't really put my finger on why exactly, but even hearing Bethesda now and I cringe thinking of the money I wasted on them and so I won't do it anymore. I do recognize that a lot of people like the games that company makes and so I am not saying it would be a "FAIL" or anything like that, only that I would not play the game. Going by the op's ideia, CD Projekt RED and THQ would be even better, as it is we must be more than happy that Bioware / Lucas Arts / The name that shall not be spoken are running the show and not SOE for example.
