Petroglyph has released nine new screenshots from End of Nations. The screens show off the massive battles players will participate in along with a first look at several maps and units players will be able to utilize. Units include tanks, long-range artillery and swift scout vehicles. Check out the new screens in our End of Nations gallery. Associate Editor: MMORPG.com |

The problem with a game like this, the vast majority of us enjoy paying up front for a boxed strategy game, not being nickle and dimed through an item shop. While I love strategy games, I have no interest in one based on an item shop. Despite their claims that this game will not be pay-to-win, any game with an item shops always ends up that way, hence I will call their statement of such a boldfaced lie. To make money they have to have needed items in the shop. This game will do well initially until people find out how expensive an item shop can get and then it will die. The f2p decision will be it's downfall. |

A bold statement while only taking the "free to play" and ignoring everything else. Well done! I wanted to type something really smart as a reply to this subject, but the Scarlet Blade ad got me distracted and I forgot what I wanted to type. |

Actually the market they are going after fits what this chap says VERY closely. Strat games are not about instant gratification. If you turn a strat game into that, you will lose all the people initially interrested in your game. I had been following this game for a long time and as soon as I saw that they will have "units" in the shop I have not looked at the site once. (copy from end of nations web site) What sorts of things will you be selling in the in-game store? The "significant" advantage portion is what caught my attention:) |

Knock Knock Who's there? LoL's 4.2 Million DAILY players. Anyone who says F2P and strat games can't mix hasn't been paying attention. |

While I wish them well, I will always prefer my rts-games in a non-mmo setting. Command & Conquer, Starcraft etc., are my type of game. To those who will enjoy this hybridization, have fun. |

They have said uints will be sold in the shop not going to find the post but has been said but the same unit will be in-game in in-game money as well. I don't like it but I can deal with it it's like LoL item shop RP/IP to buy a unit and most skin's will be shop only like LoL as well.
The BIG thing I HATE is we can't build bases ingame there on a island thats there for if you want to build a base but it dose nothing. This game will be all about atk and no def build for thoses like my self who love to play def. |

You guys are wrong... An Item Shop doesnt always mean pay to win. Some are just based on decorations or costumes or clothing. A game liek Illyriad allows you to buy prestige points where you can build structures faster but you learn skills in real time and there IS NO of speeding that up. So in l earning skills everyone is even. Its just about what skils you learn. So please dont judge items shops all the time. Man I'm so tired of people bitching about item shops. |

This game is much different than LOL. Right now it is going to be a wait and see. i think LOL did it right in regards to there cash shop. Not many others have followed suite. LOL hero's are not power. They are different types of play styles. You can take there free hero's and win just as easily as with purchasing one (or using in game points to purchase). Going by what EON has said there units will have power above a none purchased unit. That is game breaking in a pvp/strat game. If you can not take your regular units and beat purchased units it = fail in my point of view. Can this be done right? Possibly, but i highly doubt they will go that route after reading about the game/play style. |

It might be 'big', but I'm not sure how many people will actually end up in it. That's the problem with population dependant games such as this.
Soon, you have a population dependant game with.. little or no population and the mechanics that were a plus are now a minus (multiple objectives to conquer, multiple stages to complete, etc).
Plus the whole FTP with this type of action (tanks? choppers?) is hard to envision as far as what someone would want to spend money on. Colors and flag symbols are all I can think of for this type of game so doesn't sound lucrative. |
