“Death is so terribly final, while life is full of possibilities.” |
Hey all, I was having trouble finding a stock quote for ArenaNet. I need one for a class (I was asked to bring in a quote of a company that I would enjoy working for) and I can't seem to find one. I figured this was one of the best places to ask. Thanks for the help! |

Originally posted by Zeppelin5083 Their stock might go up based on many factors because NCSoft is currently making a lot of changes to their games that would attract a lot of players...starting with L2 going F2P then, if not first, GW2 release with no sub. The more players they can attract, the more value their stock will be perceived.
All I'm saying is, you might need to do some calculations to isolate the GW2 influence on the stock value. |

Theoretically the market will price / has already priced in the potential growth from GW2 prior to its release. The only reason you would see a sharp increase or decrease is if initial sales come in way lower or higher than analysts expect. Very few releases have affected Blizzard Activison's stock price, for instance. However, when they reported that WoW lost 800k subs or whatever the number was a few days ago, the stock price tanked. |

Originally posted by Zeppelin5083 Their stock value will surely go up a good notch on the day of release. With all the hype and such going around and since its a B2P kinda game, those who bought it either will continue playing or quit. Even if thhey quit, Anet doesnt care, the games already bought. If your looking into some quick money, Id go for some of their stocks. |

Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

Originally posted by Methos12 One of those rare occasions i help here, but i like to keep information crystal clear and as this is more about helping with education, figure facts are important. This is from the arenanet website (http://www.arena.net/aboutus/) Located in Bellevue, Washington, ArenaNet is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea-based NCsoft Now wholly-owned subsidiary means that 100% of the stocks for that company, in this case Arena net, is owned by NCsoft. Which means that all stock information would be under NCsofts name, not Arena net. Just for clarification purposes only. Hope that helps OP. |

Originally posted by Zeppelin5083 Not that simple. The stock value might start to go up on the announcement of the release date, and possibly go down on release day depending on how many people pre-ordered or a slight increase on the release day since the number started going up prior to release.
It also matter when the release day will be -- it can either be before summer or before winter, anything in between will not show a sudden change. |

NC soft are incredibly smart by publicly saying they have different versions with respect to character generation. This weeks demo caters towards Asians which only makes sense since they are targeting Asia this week. Blizzard are doing the same thing after their huge exodus of players, targeting the Chinese with Panda's. Brilliant business strategy. |

Originally posted by daxtre It was my understanding, from multiple posts on GW2Guru by Arena Net community managers, that there isn't two different versions. They just have an extremely broad and advanced character customization system with those asian-esque faces preset for the demo purposes. Everything shown in that demo will be available to the west as well, minus the high level armor in low level zones.
