Originally posted by WhiteLantern You are correct, All the pre-orders get you is early access, anyone saying anything beyond this might want to show proof of this, but Bioware official stance is pre-orders get you early access, and as of recent up to 5 days, depending on when you entered your pre-order code. The sign up for beta depicts the standards for getting into either the real beta or the beta weekend. These two, the pre-order and the sign up are mutually exclusive, merely signing up for the beta doesn't get you early access, and pre-ordering doesn't get you into beta. |

Lets not rush to conclusion they are probably doing database roll up which mean you have to be either patient or impulsive, since it is all about the force when it comes to starwars. Let the force decide if you have enough midichlorians in your blood to get into the beta and so on but overall, SWTOR is not a wow Killer not his purpose purely mass of fun and be sure to check your email inbox to find out it might surprise even the most nonnbeilievers of the force that they are magically invited to a week-end beta as we getting closer to its launching day. Do not lose hope and may the force be with you. |

Looking at the poll, I'd say that the OP's claim is wrong. There seems to be an equal split among all three choices. |

I pre-ordered the collectors edition immediately after it was announced and I have a beta invite. I think it is just purely random. |

I play the games I like and don't dwell on the ones I don't, complicated philosophy I know.... |

I preordered a few weeks back and got an invite for this weekend's beta test. I also just received an email notification saying I would be invited for another weekend test after this one -- details to be announced. I think I like the idea of weekend testing over regular testing because I have beta tested other MMOs before and if you're being really serious about the game testing it's more like work than play -- which I suppose is the whole point. A couple weekend beta tests would be good experience since I will not be able to see or do everything in the game and it will still seem fairly fresh when the Early Start opens.

Originally posted by Lazarus71 Yeah, that's the one I got. I already got (on Tuesday) the invite for this weekend's beta test. Today I got another notification, and I think lots of people did, that you will be invited to a FUTURE test, details to be announced shortly. So, thumbs up, you'll get in soon. |

Originally posted by Warjin So far it looks like your conspiracy theory is debunked. BTW I got an invite for this weekend and I never even signed up for beta. The ONLY reason Bioware has my information is because of there other games (same with EA). Yet I got an invite. I thought about trying the beta just so I could see for myself I was making the right choice (for me) not to buy it since I wasnt going to play skyrim. But a budd of mine had me come over today to see what I thought of skyrim and after an hour TOR loses out to skyrim this weekend lol. |

"If you have previously tested or are currently participating in an ongoing test, you will be invited again. Additional details for this upcoming test will be announced soon."
Got my email today aswell for the Beta weekend invite -
I'm guessing that any codes or whatever would be sent via email or something Edit: Also - "This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch"
so yeh im going to bet loads of people are going to get invites http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4093/userbar759160.gif |

Umm.... from your data collected thus far.. It would appear that they are sending random invites. |

It was random lol. That said friday update sorta kills this thread now. Everyone signed up before nov 11th gets into the next beta weekend test if u havent already. Also with sites like massively ign and others given out keys u can get in that way also. So this thread is now no longer necessary.

While it's 'technically' not an Open Beta - it's pretty darn close - with over a million and a half registered on the SWTOR site for beta, along with however other many thousands of 'keys' gives to sites all over. |

If they are planning on "breaking" the servers to make sure they can handle the load, they are going about this the correct way, lol.

I have to change my vote, because not only did I get into this weekend's test (too bad the site is down down down,) but I also got an invite to a future test. Bioware must be really confident in this game if they're willing to let people play two weekends and experience a much larger portion of the game than what you can do in a single weekend. |
