A while back, it was announced that a new COD game would be released each year. What are your thoughts on this? Can a quality FPS be made of the same series every single year? Or would it just be re-skinning the game (as others have states) and no real innovation besides a few minor things? I see COD going the way of Guitar Hero and other games of the like. They just make as much money as they can in the shortest amount of time possible and then kill the series through their greed. By making you buy new stuff in addition to the game (like CoD elite or new instruments in the case of Guitar Hero) people will eventually get tired of it and get burned out. |

I'm already sick of it. CoD 4 MW was fantastic. MW2 and BO were the same game with a few more gizmo's. I will not be purchasing MW3 b/c I have no interest in paying 59.99 for 6 hours of sp, followed by 22 hours of MP before tiring of it. I can only motivate myself to care about all the achievement stuff so much, when the maps are the size of my garage. I will perhaps purchase it much later on, b/c I do feel the sp campaign is better than the BF campaigns. So should they produce a game every year? Do you have stock in activision? I think if you did, you would say yes. I am voting with my wallet, just like I do in MMO's. So no thanks...at least not at first. I'm enjoying the mp in BF3 right now anyway. Playing: BF3 and Skyrim...maybe Darkfall UW |

Its definitely doable since the same studio isnt making it each year. MW1 - Infinity Ward COD World at war - treyarch MW2 - Infinity ward BO - Treyarch MW3 - Infinity ward This way its every 2 years for each studio and they can use each others advances. |

While technically each studio releases a game every other year beacuse the alternate, I dont think you can make a good game in that amount of time. We have seen so far that Acti and Trey. keep producing basically the same game over and over again. On top of that they charge $60 bucks for each one and people buy it. Each new game hardly improves upon the last. Dice has it right when they say they would rather produce new content for BF3 and keep it going then make a new game every other year like Actiblizz or Treyarch (sp?). Last CoD I bought was MW2 and I'll never buy another one again. BF3 has all the fast action I need, then on top of that they have vehicles and actual team work for when I feel like that. |

First thoughts Jotick and Treyarch are at it again, milking the cashcow as long as they can they are doing the same shit with WoW. Second thought my last CoD game was Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and I'm still having fun with it and as many say the still the best Call of Duty. Heck I'd easily buy BF again if it wasn't for EA and their spyware named Origin. I like Dice but despise EA. |

This would be why this year I went with BF3 over MW3.
It also doesnt hurt that BF3 looks like a next-gen game while MW3 looks like it could have been released years ago. |

It is a re-skin with the same story/missions/multiplayer. People just buy it for random weapon upgrades and new maps which can easily be done as DLC. This is the reason I avoid any COD. You buy one and 9-12 months later there is another out the the community with the game you own is done. |

COD already IS just re-skinning the game and releasing practically same game with new maps and few quirks here and there since COD 4.

I don't see the issue here. It's no different than every new year's sports franchise releasing the newest installment. You are basically just getting new maps and maybe a few new or different features. If you like em buy em, if you don't, then don't. I play with a few friends and mutliplayer can be a blast for months. I just wish their was a cumulative effect, like being able to play the old maps from the last few installments while playing the new game. That's all I really miss with the new installments. The maps. |

The more you hype an upcoming game in your mind, the more it will fail to meet your expectations. |

Welcome to Bobby Kotick's Activision. Where a game franchise isn't worth pursuing if it can't be endlessly cloned, beaten, and bled to death. |

The Infinity MW series is by far a better series then, the CoD series that Treyarch puts out! While the games are all based on the same concept of FPS. There is such a huge difference between WaW and Black Ops over MW1 or 2! FPS isn't for everyone and that's fine, but if your gonna quit buying the series I wouldn't stop with MW3! I would wait till next year's Treyarch/Activison game is released. World at War could quite possibly be the worst FPS I ever played! WaW & BO both are choppy gameplay and completely unreliable game servers (the reason I quit playing BO) My 2 cents, get MW3 you will be happy with what they have changed and improved. Quit next year when the game is back in Treyarch/Activision's hands! I for one will only be playing the MW series from here on out! |

This is why I will not be purchasing MW3. I spent my money on BF3 and I am not disappointed with it. CoD has no long-term value to the company, and so they don't care about fixing broken game mechanics. Those things turned me off from past games, because they are not willing to change or fix mechanics that players complain about. They only fix the most broken exploits that involve glitches, and they stop there and never put any more effort into the game. Then, they churn out map packs to get more money from players. Then, the next game comes out and they stop developing content for the old games. They get your $60 + DLC every year, so who cares right? That's what the CoD series has become, and I'm sick of it. I honestly urge players to speak with their wallets and not give them another penny, but I know that won't happen. I have purchased BF3, and it was a great decision. There is a list of features/fixes on the forums that players want fixed, and Dice has supposedly already started working on a load of fixes. |

Kotick = Activision = WoW Treyarch = BO Also, you dont have to run Origin every time. Its just for putting your CD key in. |
