You should have asked hinm for an example class combo with a mesmer skill, or if mesers would also have cross class combo skills. See if you can get a slip up confirmation of the 8th class. |

I think this was a good suggestion, but easily something that could be taken up by the community. At this point in the life cycle if it would be difficult to implement, I'd leave it up to a community website. |

I don't think that Dev actually answered a single question. Very clever. |

The fact that elements of what the interview was about are in development means they rarely give definative answers. All devs are like that obssesive artist (can't think of his name) who would go into galleries and touch up his paintings years after he had sold them. The job is never done, just needs one more tweak. :) Marketing plays a role too, the interviews are as much advert as a window into whats going on. But then any dev who shoots his own game in the foot would be rather like a parent who decides to throw out his baby with the bath water. |

I look forward to an mmo that has elements of game-play challenge towards mastery. Sounds interesting. |

No one can complain about hearing more details of an upcoming new title release but these EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS!!!!! to me are more meant to be intentional leaks to build the pre-order hype machine. I find it comical that the pre-release articles come in droves up until launch and then the actual "reviews" come well after that, I understand a game has to be played first but still the pre-release hype flows sometimes weeks if not months later despite tje the insiders that have been playing the MMO for weeks if not months in some way or another. Its like the stripper that would never go home with you. Theres no shortage of flirtation for money exchange or in the in the case of MMO revelations a tiny "leak" trumped up to be MORE INCREDULOUS DETAILS ABOUT.......!!!! Anyway, GW2 has big shoes to fill. Competiing against other upcoming winter releases and itself too. But for me no amount of hands off hype building will sell me. Don't buy a car without a free -non preordered- test drive.

Well a lot of the hype is not completely unfounded. Those who have played the game, myself included, have generally gave the game positive reviews. Yeah there are a few bugs here and there, and some dislikes, but it was still some pretty high-quality game play for not being in beta yet. As for my playing the demo, I had a blast. It was a fun game to play. The 40 minutes just flew by while playing it. To me that's the most important to look for in a game: did you have fun. But either way, the game was of the usual high caliber game that I've come to expect from ArenaNet. They did deliver on what they promised, maybe not to the degree of "omg second coming!", but they didn't flat our lie to or deceive their players. |

Agree, the hype is well deserved. Anyone who claim its not is uninformed or pathetic hater ;) |

I know I shouldn't get hyped; I've done it with too many mmos. It always ends up in dissapointment. But I honestly can't help but think that GW2 is the MMO I've been waiting for. Good foundations with a innovative and dedicated team behind it. Can't wait. Abandon The Fifth. |

People will just create macros to make combos a one button press, be it with autohotkey or a G15 type keyboards. |

I still think that GW2 would have best served the Pet class by staying away from cookie cutter pets. The Ranger is still too much a summoner with pets instead of say...demons or zombies. Making a pet unique for each Ranger would have been a better way to go. Customizable abilities, stats, and appearance with a breeding mechanic for those that wanted to invest some hard core time into their pet. I don't think I'll feel any attachment to pets playing a Ranger in GW2 other than them being a pixelated meat shield with the current system that is in place. These changes are not really worth mention as it doesn't solve the problem that pets are the same for all Rangers and lack any kind of uniqueness or personality. A bear for one Ranger is still going to be the same bear for another ranger with little if any significant differences. The fact that a Ranger can use a Polar Bear instead of a Brown Bear has little relevance when every Ranger can do it. However, this is a small point considering that overall I am quite happy and impressed with what GW2 has done with their game. The skills I've seen Rangers use also look cool. |

You do realize that GW2 already has a profession that summons the undead, called the Necromancer. Having the Ranger do that as well would just be redundant. Also the Ranger does have some interesting pet choice, such as the pets that are exclusive to the underwater environment (e.g. Jellyfish & Sharks). That's not something I've seen in an MMORPG. Also your comment about Rangers all having the same pet is a bit unfounded since as of now a Ranger will have a choice between 26 different animal companions to differentiate between themselves and that's not even the complete list of pets. |
