They say that these crappy DRM's exist to combat pirates, but that isn't true. The real reason why they use DRM's is to frustrate PC gamers so much that they give up and hit the consoles, where the games can be sold for much, much more. That is also the reason why pirates exist (Well, okay, one of them. Not originally, but definitely now), to combat the horrible DRM's that PAYING CUSTOMERS have to go through. You know what? It is by far easier, even AFTER paying for a game (most of the time), to just go ahead and look for a crack that removes this crap. If BF3 wasn't mostly about multiplayer as it is, I'm pretty darn sure most would simply crack away. I mean, people are already using a BYPASS designed by PIRATES to avoid that horrible wannabe Origin. Coyote was right on the money with his description of that foul beast. Theres just something horribly wrong about her.
Don't get me wrong. I buy games. But I see why the crackers just keep on cracking these games. Some of these DRM's are just outright rediculous. Also, EA, GET A CLUE! No one wants your Origin crap. Valve won. They got their big game hosting program out long before you. Deal with it D8 MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P |

I hate everything about Origin. Just give me BF3 on Steam already. |

BF3 on steam will probably link you to battlelog to launch the game anyways :P
But in al honesty, I didn't have any of those problems when I started BF3, maybe because I have a EA account before hand for Dragon Age and Mass Effect. But all I had to do is launch Origin, start BF3, find server and jump in. (It actually launches the game in the background, the whole point of the website is that it doesn't lock you into playing the game only, so you can go to other webpages while it loads completely.....or not) While I think the article was hilarious, I think it was extremely exaggerated. Now trolls is just gonna start saying SWTOR is bad because of Origin. Sure Origin isn't perfect, and I like Steam more, but it was as bad as the writer described. How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW? |

You're looking at it all wrong. Clearly, EA is doing this to make the world a better place. It's all about those teabag happy 14 year-olds. It's practice to prepare them for the student loan application process. Because the world needs more over-educated teabaggers in management positions.

BF3, the game itself, is great. It's just the other bullcrap that EA is throwing at you with origin, battlelog, and the like to try and get you to leave steam and COD elite at the same time. lol. |

Thanks for reminding me why I will never ever buy this junk. Make a version that works on Steam WITHOUT ORIGIN, perhaps we'll talk. |

I'm not gonna tell anyone what to play or anyting, but I am quite surprised by how many people will pass on a game for the reasons posted. It wouldn't be so surprising if the game sucked. BF3 is a great game with awsome gfx. I am not a huge fan of origin, but BF3 is way more than enough of a reason to deal with it. One way to deal with it I found to work, since i have a crap ton of ram, I just leave steam and origin running in the background. That way I can play steam games or BF3 without having to wait for some platform to open. As for Battlelog, just bookmark it. Open browser, go to battlelog, join game. since origin isa already running, the whole process is actually quite streamlined and easy. To those that will refuse to play BF3 based entirely on Origin, you are depriving yourself a great game experience. <img src="http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/7478/galioqd3.gif" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> |

Yeah, I was adamant I wasn't going to buy into this crap. I mean, the fact that people still buy this shit is why they keep piling it on. "Oh, you like shit?" says EA, "Well, I'll just make sure to give you a bigger portion next time then!" Then it was my birthday, and all the other shiny games are a month away. And I remembered how much fun I had with 1942, and the small amount of fun I had with BC2. And I had some money. Now I own BF3 and a pile of shit, and you will be surprised how quickly I shove the shit down my mouth to get to that sweet goodness buried underneath. It's so good. I'm ashamed of myself. But it's so good. |

As long as you don't have the cloud saves activated on Origin, you can now play BF3 by using only the battlelog page. |
