I have a vague memory from my childhood of a wierd game where you're this dude that jumps up onto clouds, higher and higher, and when you get pretty high, some of the clouds blow on you, making wind and pushing you around, and you could go inside some clouds, and they would blow you back outside sometimes. Anyway, the people I saw playing it got pissed and gave up cause they couldn't figure out the point of it, and kept falling to the ground, which didn't kill you, but was annoying cause it took so long to jump back up that high.
Anyone know the name of it?
I kinda wanna know what happens in it. It's usually the really wierd old things that hide something either totally impossible to explain or at least highly original. |

Lots of games about called cloud-tower, could be a variant of those. rpg/mmorg history: Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW (9500 hrs on main mage)> oblivion > LOTR (480 Hunter) > Rift (230 hours mage) > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(350 elementalist) Now playing GW2/Diablo 3/Rift Waiting Archeage. |

What type of game is it? 2d platformer? |
|
|
It was a 2d platformer, and I don't think it was on Nintendo or Sega, but it definately was a console game. It was in color. What I described was how the game starts, and all I saw of it, so I can't be more detailed. I'm not sure about this, but I think it was also the type of game that if you go off the right side you end up on the left side... either that or you just couldn't go off the sides. Either way, I know it wasn't a side scroller, it scrolled up and down only. It was side view. |

Just googled Kid Icarus, and that isn't it. There weren't any "blocks", the ground was smooth, and there were only clouds. The background was just a plain sky blue color. And the character was tall and skinny. Really skinny. And no wings. |

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

Well what did the character look like? Even a vague description of the character's sprite would greatly help in pointing out a game. |

He kinda looked like the guy that appears in Age of Empires when you enter the ilovethemonkeyhead cheat. |

About what year was this? 2001? 1989? |
|
|
1993-4 ish I think, but I know the game is way older than that. |

I'll look some more later on. In the mean time, you may want to check out this search: http://www.mobygames.com/search/site?search=cloud&offset=25 I bet your game is on there, somewhere. |

I think the biggest distinguishing feature is that you can go inside clouds, like they're buildings. It loads a new area when you go in a cloud- the inside of the cloud. Most cloud hopping games seem to be about not falling, but as I said, falling in this game was just a nuisance. This game has no time limits or anything, and I don't even know what the point of it was. Which is why I've been trying to find it, so I could figure out what the point of it was. |

I remember those same people were also playing Pitfall... |
|

Ok, after watching a few videos for different versions of Pitfall, I think they were playing the one for NES, Super Pitfall, so maybe the game I'm thinking of is for NES after all. |

He goes inside a cloud in that one. Somewhere around 4:30 - 5:00. It might be one of the other adventure islands; they tend to like using clouds. Sarcasm is not a crime! |

lol... no.... I said already you only go up and down. No left or right. And he's skinny.
...And he doesn't have a pet and can't really do anything except jump from what I remember seeing. |
