Playing BF3 right now and my mouth is watering for Skyrim. Going to be a nice long Hiatus from MMO's for me I believe.... Well I might give SWTOR and GW2 a try. |

Thanks for the links, Corehaven. Looks pretty good. I think that 3rd person view will be fine for me. Think I'll give it a shot. |

I'll be married to Skyrim until GW2 comes around and steals my heart. "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"-Voltaire |

Beat Skyrim in 3-hours. . .hello CORPG's again; though some might mistakenly call them mmorpg's. |

Very true. In fact there's so many other tasks to do in that game. There's no way to play and experience EVERY single piece of content in 3 weeks or 3 months. And there's no point in playing if all someone is gonna do is play straight through just to quickly see and ending. Its not a side stroller or action game. Not to mention that you have this vast amount of land. Which is a hell of a lot of exploring. One of the things I loved about WoW. New build in progress. |

Thats doing the main quest only. There are countless quests in Skyrim that are equally as long. I do mean a lot of them. The main quest is more meant to be taken a bit at a time. Do part of it, explore and do other quests. Join the Thieves guild. Eat some fish. Kill a dragon. Then do another section 10 hours later.
Also Elder Scrolls games sort of encourage this and gently hint that this is in fact exactly the way its meant to be played. Bethesda games are typically pretty huge.
Oblivion and Fallout 3 were beaten on the speed run in about half the time. Those games were huge. It took twice as long for an experienced tester whos been playing the game who knows how long, to beat Skyrim. These speed runs were focused on doing the main quest only while ignoring the plethora of other quests the game offers. Thats important to keep in mind.
So the main story is twice as long as that of Fallout 3 and Oblivion. No one complained those games were too short, or too small. You can mess around in Oblivion for years. Literally.
Skyrim is a huge game, with perhaps what might turn out to be the greatest longevity of most any current gen game available. Not saying thats a fact but a high possibility.
You might want to rethink your stance there. Not demanding that you do and you're opinion is valid. But if you are honestly under the impression Skyrim is going to be a short dinky little game not worth the money, I kind of feel sorry for you, because you're missing out on a game that is in fact the opposite of "short" or "small". |

Will be breaking for the upcoming games, actually mostly on a break from mmo's as it is. Been playing Batman, Battlefield 3 exclusively , while sneaking in NWN2. Skyrim and Uncharted 3 should grab me for a bit. I am looking forward to swtor though, I play basically every mmo that comes out still, but non have kept my attention for more than 2-3 months. |

I havent touched a mmo since the day after Rifts alternative advancement patch. Been enjoying my Steam & 360 games since then and honestly haven't missed mmos at all. So to answer you OP, No I wont leave mmos due to skyrim. I left way before then. Playing through Dark Souls & Arkham city at the moment should finish both up (minus new game plus) just as Skyrim releases. I'll be playing Skyrim then Final Fantasy XIII-2, KoA:Reckoning and Mass Effect 3. Probably wont revisit mmorpg before Guild Wars 2 releases. Playing: GW2 |
