Devious, offer free diable 3 with annual sub, Diable to play with while you wait for expansion, with a view to releasing the ninja panda expansion before the annual pass runs out. If you are subbed when the release comes you are almost forced to buy it. Sneaky but clever. If GW2 arrives before the expansion then they have a prob as who would not play GW2 over creaking WOW, and if it is as good as it's potential suggests then many many players are going to decide to focus their free time on their mains in GW2. So i think blizz will push hard for a pre GW2 release - good for WOW dedicated as long as blizz dont mess up the rush as its a more aggressive release schedule than anything they have done before (with less development resource by all accounts)
rpg/mmorg history: Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW (9500 hrs on main mage)> oblivion > LOTR (480 Hunter) > Rift (230 hours mage) > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(350 elementalist) Now playing GW2/Diablo 3/Rift Waiting Archeage. |

GW2 isn't a theat to WoW.
And, you're mostly talking about stuff you.. don't know. Really. All your point are mostly... wrong. What tell you they "looked" at GW2 ? Nothing. Maybe they have been developping this for more time than GW2 did. World boss ? You think GW2 are the first to this ? You think WoW never had them ? No flying till "max level". Do you know how to read ? Because you cleary didn't understood.
Comparing the monk class with Pally ? Are you.... serious ? You better not be.
Wow doesn't lack innovation, you sir, lack of logic.
In the end, I think you're comparing Apple with Orange. For me it's not the same "type" of game. You can play BOTH game, you can play WoW or you can play GW2. One thing sure, GW2 isn't the WoW killer. Sorry to dissapoint you. |

I personally thought that Cataclysm was great, in terms of questing. They cleaned up their old world, removed many of the filler quests and bad things about questing and replaced it with better things. The worst part about it was that they could not add these improvements to Burning Crusade and that was a shame.
It's often sad when content, and zones gets abandoned because people moved on.
It's difficult to make intelligent game design that keeps people moving back and forth.
I think if there is one thing we have learned from WoW then it is that to add mounts, is dangerous. all these super fast mounts and flying mounts have helped diminish the world. I hope GW2 will never add mounts and that people will explore on foot. |

even if they are adapting to guild wars 2 the content they will be providing as opposition to that is still going to have Panda people as its focal point, and frankly if we're talking about the western market here, pandas are really only gonna sell to kids, weeaboos and maybe hard core fans of warcraft (though that seems a stretch to say). And while there are quite a few of those people out there who would gobble this stuff up, I doubt its gonna dip into the western or european markets the way Guild wars 2 will more than likely do. Way I see it, Blizzard is trying to transition the game to a child/asian market. Due to this transition I can see there being a possibility that a game like Guildwars 2 could apeal to a lot of hungry gamers looking for something they want. |

Originally posted by Majinash I agree. out of a slew of features, he highlights a small bit of them, and brings up odd, almost irrelevent points. why do people with no interest to play a game, make posts about it? honestly, no one cares about your opinion, anymore than they do mine.
OP. keep on crying that river |

Originally posted by skulljoe they have a roll, spells and arrows/bullets will still hit you, becuase that is how WoW works.
guildwars and guildwars2 work in the way that only when something hits you it does the dmg, and projectials fly in a stright line, no matrix/wanted stuff here. arrows fly stright and if you move behind a pillar, you will not be hit. not just LoS, but not struck at all.
so what if the monk class has a role to move out of range, for this to be a dodge function, they would ahve to tweek how their combat works.
P.S not dising WoW juts laying out the facts |

it blows my mind, that among a slew of features, people can only focus on the Pandarean, a race requested by the fanbase for years. the big mindfuck, is why people who don't even like the game, or ever plan on playing it, are making such a big deal about it. i understand that some people blame WoW for all greed, hunger, and hatred, but if your determined Pandas will ruin WOW (finally), then why even complain about it? shouldn't you be happy that WoW is going to finally die (yeah right) because they added Pandas?
i haven't played since a month into Cata, and before then, i only played in 2-3 month binges, with equal breaks in between. And though i am not really excited about Pandas, i am however, VERY excited to explore their land, and play though the game again with a monk, a class i have wanted since i first subbed back during it's vanilla days. |

I don't care what Blizzard does, GW2 will have a good following. Blizzard can continue to suck the money out of people stupid enough to pay it when the company doesn't earn the money they make. WoW fans are no different then sheep, just following what they've done before, stuck paying every month so they can play the same generic crap over and over again. I have friends that play WoW and they complain nearly every day about it, yet still tell me it's worth the 15 bucks a months. "Can't beat entertainment like that." except I prefer the entertainment that I enjoy. All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick. |

Can't believe WOW are still trying to sell this dead horse. Shame on you if you continue to sub to a mmo that is constantly trying to squeeze as much money as it can from your wallets before you finally wake up. |

Is World of Warcraft evolving? I definitely think it is and it's commendable that a game that's almost seven years old is continuing to work hard to become a better game. Is it adapting to the Guild Wars 2 threat? I think we may be over-estimating how good and how popular Guild Wars 2 is going to be. Let the game come out and then we can assess the situation. It wasn't a year ago that all of my friends were declaring Final Fantasy XIV the new MMO king..... and then the game came out. But just so you know.... WoW will be fine! |

Cant agree more with you on this one. I know a couple of people that are still subbing to wow, yet they are complaining about tons of various in-game issues. But if you ask them, they will still tell you it is actually worthy of 180$ a year. I dont know why, but i fail to understand what is worthy of subscription there anymore (7 years before maybe, but not now). Main MMO at the moment: Guild Wars 2 |
