I knew it will go F2P before GoD since in the first quarter on a conferice call, they were saying it will go F2P but not yet, because they needed to update and prepare the game for F2P. Since GoD is the largest update since L2 , it was obvious that it will go F2P when they were saying that a big annoucement will take place on 5th Oct ( delayed :) http://www.lineage2.com/news/news.html#a017973 )

I will have to add this to my game list when it goes to a freemium model.   I have a lot of good memories of Lineage 2.  I absolutely love it when a company offers a good hybrid model.  I feel it works the best and offers the most flexibility.

How exactly did GoD killed the game for you? Because of so many changes? Games evolve, MMO's evolve and if you are a nostalgic, then you should not play MMO's :)

Anyway , now that it will be F2P , you can try it for free and I am pretty sure you will enjoy GoD :)

No I will not, the merger of the classes is what broke the deal. I don't think it qualifies as evolution.

I'm sure their new skills are fine and dandy, but it's a matter of class diversity and identity.

So it seems that EU servers which are about to open end of this month from Innova will be similar to their Russian server which is very cool, I dont mind playing for the premium account or the cash shop, L2 was about real money way before this and it still survived, their "frost" system as well is much better than gameguard it wont stop it completely but it will stop a lot more and I can see ppl getting banned a lot more often.

One thing I hope they dont do is allow ppl to transfer from NA to EU that would be a deal breaker for me, starting with a bloated broken economy on the server would mean a lot of new ppl that will come ( so many ppl that play on private server will flock to this i assure you ) are going to be in a disadvantage from the get go. Hopefully Innova have some sense and NC wont allow it either.

Yes that sounds good I really want to start from scratch I have lots on my NCW account but I dont really care I want to trade that for a fresh star hopefully without a fucked up economy, if lvl 85 characters transfer it will just ruin it cause ppl wont be able to compete.  I dont think the CS will kill it cause NCW servers were always with a CS the thing is it was illegal, most of the highly equiped characters really bought their way up.

I think it's a good thing as well. One of the main reasons I quit playing L2 a lot is the (flawed) economy rung by old (and some current) RMT's. I really hope that the Innova servers will not accept transfers from NCW and we can get a full fresh start again. And with this new start build up a new (working) economy without bots (they'll use the Russian no-bot program for EU guys) and less (illegal) RMT's.

Also (as important for me), I'm only 83/68 now, and have a HUGE disadvantage against those 85/80/80/80 (with eBuyed gear) when it comes to PvP. With a new start we can play with (and against :D) equal level players without the unbalance of multiple sub-class skills against you...

I'd love to check out how things are, although I'm also one of those sceptical about the changes made to the classes. Who knows, I might be wrong and it may be a good thing in the end.

just as iw ill very likely pick it backup with the new f2p expansion, what exactly is changing class wise besides the high endu stuff?

Will the innova server be IP specific like EU only or can NA play on it? Dunno how well NCW will survive if NA can play on the EU server.. Innova has proven to be far superior in managing than NCwest..
