I guess it was only a matter of time. They seem content with milking the game until it's completely buried and gone. Won't do well for their future games. Pay to Win has arrived. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/3665632 "we’re ok with it if some players choose to use the Guardian Cub as a safe and secure way to try to acquire a little extra in-game gold without turning to third-party gold-selling services." What's really sad is that the company proclaimed often they would never go there, but here they are, going there. |

How is this pay to win exactly? |

OMG YOU CAN NOW SELL COSMETIC PET IN THE AH.
PAY TO WIN....
Win what ?
Also there's also a big thread about it. Instead of making a troll thread learn to read instead of reposting it. |

Well it's pay to win in a few areas of the game. It's instant access to boes and craftables and pretty much anything you can get on the AH As for professions you can pretty much get whatever you need with a few pets. |

If this is their attempt to "sell gold" then they did it wrong. |

I'd also like to add some of the craftables are right up there next to pvp weapons you acquire with honor/conquest. This basically means someone with a lot of disposable income is going to be able to come along and flood the ah with whatever he feels like. WoW has been dying anyone, but this will help spear it on the ground. |

Originally posted by ActionMMORPG The difference is that no new gold or game useful armor was created and inserted into the economy. Same amount of cash and armor is still floating around. The only thing added to the economy was an entirely useless cosmetic pet. If someone decides that it is worth it to them them that is their problem. This is really no different then if you had a friend that simply decided to give you 1000g to go buy that armor just because he had the extra cash kicking around. |

Originally posted by ActionMMORPG That would be true if..... Gears are already cheap. By the time you're lvl 85 you can already buy most of them. And in 1 week of doing LFG dungeons or PVP you would already be able to buy most of them.... Yeah Buy to save 1 week ! Awsome.
Not only mentionning that selling pet for gold was already nothing new but done on 3rd party website, WHICH WAS NOT SAFE.
Poeple really need to stop to see everything wow see as a big bad move. You don't need to be smart to understand why they did this and that it isn't such a big deal.

Another thing I wanted to add... It's absolutely shocking how greedy Acti/Blizz are. They have this nigh unstoppable behemoth of a game with MILLIONS of people paying $15 a month AND buying expansions AND paying for services like character transfers...but that's not enough. This whole cash shop thing was too juicy and they had to put their hands in that pot too. When does it stop? When will a company decide that making a few more bucks isn't worth alienating its customers? |

I wouldn't call it pay2win but it still isn't good. I predict that Diablo 3s action house will show up soon if Diablo 3 gets popular. |

In the same light, it's also really no different if I paid money for gold from that same friend. That isn't inflationary (no increase in gold supply), and adds nothing physical to the economy (gold seller didn't produce my gear out of thin air) so there's no over supply issues.

Biggest loosers in this situation are gold farmers. the pet for gold system will cut drastically into their market. When oyu read a post decrying the whole idea think about the motivation of the poster. Refugee from UO,EQ,AC,AC2,AO,DAOC,L2,SB,HZ,CoH,PT,EQ2,WoW,VG,SWG,EVE,WAR,DF,MO,AI,GA, LOTRO... |

Originally posted by ActionMMORPG True! But it's also no different than if you paid money to a Chinese gold farmer for gold ;). I think the thing that irritates me the most is how Blizzard just did a 180 with this whole gold selling issue. They were diametrically opposed to it and BANNED people that participated until they saw a buck for themselves in the deal. Now they are singing a different song. "Oh, we're fine if people sell the cub on AH for gold...at least it protects them from those nasty gold farmers!" WTF?!?!? These are the people you were banning a few months ago and now you want to protect them? No integrity at all. |

Hum... They are a compagny, and every single compagny need money and want to make money. Oh and they are the most succesfull and best gaming compagny of the industry. I guess everything they do is so wrong..... right ? Let's bash the compagny that give us AAA Games and then, whine about the fact that there's no good AAA Games out there ! Yeah .... fail.
Majority of the forum here have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA at all of the impact it will have. I'm sure most of the haters DON'T EVEN PLAY WOW. They just want to bash a big name because well... it's easy to do even if they say wrong stuff.
But yeah, thanks for the laugh ! "They make enough money, they need to stop !" haha. No, marketing doesn't work like this. Everywhere, it doesn't work like this. |
