Yeah, this is my game. I hope it comes out soon 'cause I really wanna kill some people who are tons of levels above me with my friends (yes, that means you Ferox). I have never been a real fan of crafting junk but ive always been so addicted that I have to do it. Whatever company individule dudes who is making this game probably spend day and night working on it. I hope that later expansions will add the eastern Roman Empire into the game, mainly the holy land (Israel you idiote). I'm not playing any mmorpgs now but I will definitely have my life consumed my RV. My only concern about the game is that millions of people play the game and the staff start to forget the community and send them automated messages and do not even look at them (but hopefully there wont be any problems with the game and people do not need support). Also I am wondering why Greek Fire is not in the game? (no that wasnt my answer but IT FREAKIN NEEDS TO BE IN THE GAME).

I'm not exactly up to speed on Roman Empire history and what happens during the time period of Circa 180AD, but I was also kinda hoping they would add different empires in it also. For instance, along with barbarians...add the Greek Empires. Like the Spartans for example who would VERY powerful in their time. Also the infamous Macedonians with their Elephants who did extremely well in battles. I guess this is going a bit far but I was wondering if they are maybe adding these other empires to them game as well? Another question I have that I'm sure I read somewhere but can't remember is the politics and the senate. Will we be able to (with enough hard work and dedication), become a Praetorian of the SPQR?? Along with being a captain or a general in a Legion, I would think that being a Praetorian of the senate would be very difficult to come by but would have a very esteemed and prestigious level. I believe Praetorians along with soldiers of the Roman Empire Legions did their 5-10? years of service and then were awarded their own piece of land for them to retire at. Praetorians were well paid and well fed, among other things in the true history of the roman empire and they were pretty brutal when it came to policing the people of Rome. Wish we had more particular details on the game. |

I accept anyone who wants to be my legion's enemy :P except that when you go against one legion you go against all. The way it looks like right now from the forums it seems barbarians will be a minority... so if you want to fight against the tyranny of Rome, please do so, I don't like things to be too easy :P. |

At first I was bummed about the graphics until someone mentioned these are just "Beta" Graphics with none of the bells and whistles. Now I can deal with this, and thinking back on it I always prefered UO's 2D over its attempt at 3D anyway, but what really concerns me is the emptiness of the Screenshots. Always just a handful of near naked men with very little customization to them in the middle of vast fields. Or another Toga clone standing in a gigantic field with one building behind him. Everything about the game sounds perfect to me but I just wonder if RV will be as sterile and white-wash as Rome: Total War was compared to C&C maps.

When I finally get to play the game, Im gonna raise an army and get leveled up and take you down (Hopefully I can be a rogue roman dude cause I want to be the Romans) anyways Im gonna kill you with some army. Of course everyone is gonna want to join me because....well they will...yeah.
Thanks for the helpful review but you have just motivated me to destroy your legions even though you know a ton more about the game than me (seeing as you have played it) |

I think u will find the emperor a lot harder to kill than u think. From the hints KFR has given us, his pretorian guard will be a force to be reckoned with. Plus I doubt he will hand over administrative power over the roman empire he coded so easily ----------------------- |

I really wish I was beta testing this... It sounds great. I loved old UO and this looks like it is the same type of game. I especially love the real-time combat system. |

Ive forgotten most of my Roman history, but I think they chose this date due ot the fact that most other mediterranean powers had already been conquered or annexed by Rome by this stage. The Carthagians (think they had the elephants), the Greeks, Macedonians, etc....can anyone correct me if im wrong. BTW, really really looking forward to this game too...always checked it out, must admit to being a little shallow and being put off a little by the graphics, but I've always loved Roman history since a kid, and these devs sound as if they actually can't wait to play the game themselves, which is always a good sign. THe payment system also sounds both fair and affordable...bring it on! |

You're right about the elephants. And probably why RB chose this timeframe. The main reason would be because so many cultures mix in that period, from Celts, Germans to Numidians and many many more. |

In a galaxy, far far away, some mad eejit said "Nobody wants to play Uncle Owen"... well, I dunno. Me, I'd be happy running a farm, harvesting, selling produce on. Maybe making spears, not just crummy spears but The Best Spears...Ever.
Who wants to be a hero, eh? Some of us are happy being Britunculus. Seriously getting the 'looking forward to THIS' itch ;) ********************* |

For my time, Roma Victor is the only video game worth playing right now; a reasonably realistic virtual world.
