Thanks in advance |

No, sorry. You'll have to upgrade pretty much everything. FFXIV is very demanding and requires a very good pc for anywhere near enjoyable experience, no matter what people might tell you. "Only in quiet waters do things mirror themselves undistorted. |

Thanks for the quick reply! Bummer, but we're expecting to upgrade to a new computer soon anyway. |

If you look at my sig you will see my system specs , i run FFXIV at 1080p with settings all on high and my setup is cheap to build now days , so if what your getting is better than mine it will work great.

Your processer would be fine for now but your video card would need to be upgraded in order to run decently. I still use an Nvidia 9800gt and it runs fine but there are way better options out there now for pretty cheap. |

I've tried FFXIV with two setups E6600@2.40 ghz, 4gb, nvidia 260, and it ran pretty poorly with most options turned down(1680x1050) Sandy Bridge 2500, 8gb, ATI 6950, and it was till rather choppy with stuff turned on.(1920x1080) Moral of the story: You'll have to run at really bad settings to run on that setup.
And they are seriously charging a sub for the game now? |

Originally posted by Terronte No they aren't charging until the revamps are done (they are about 50% complete according to Yoshida in the recent live letter from the producer).
They implemented a frame limiter which can be set to 60 FPS and 30 FPS, at 30 FPS the game now runs much smoother (not "choppy") on mid range machines. It also is a little lighter on your graphics card if you have a problem with overheating.
I personally run on an:
i7, 2.67 GHZ, 8 GB, Geforce GTX 480 on maximum settings @ 1920x1080 and don't have any issues. When I run Fraps though I usually turn on the 30 FPS limiter (I don't notice a difference personally, but it makes the videos smoother).
