The Final Fantasy XIV team has a new blog post on the Lodestone that describes the upcoming battle with Ifrit, the Primal of Fire. This new 'battle content' will arrive with the v1.19 patch is released. The Ifrit battles come in two flavors: Standard for level 30 parties of four members; and Hard Mode for parties of eight at level 50. According to the information posted on the Lodestone, the battles will feature an unfolding story similar to regular quests but that give meaning to the hunt for and final battle with Ifrit. Players successfully taking on and defeating Ifrit will score some pretty awesome loot in the form of Primal Weapons. Read more about the Ifrit battle on the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone. Thanks to Murugan for the tip. Associate Editor: MMORPG.com |

If their releasing things like this, does that mean they've finished fixing the game now? couldnt really understand what was happening in the video.. but it looked... interesting.. whatever it was.. |

I submitted a news tip, and the news actually got posted!! With a Video!! (not saying it was a result of my submission, oh I just saw it was that's neat)
To think on the day I would get banned from the official forums after being... a little upset with their Japanese only live producer's letter (or rather the English community rep's not telling us it would be in Japanese only); that mmorpg.com and Suzie Ford would post information on Final Fantasy XIV that is neither disparaging, or incomplete
Thank you Ms. Ford, you are a credit to the mmorpg.com staff. I take back several of the unfortunate things I have said about your work in the past.

It is currently buy to play (as in you have to buy a copy of the game which goes for $10 some places) and then there is no subscription for the time being.
Once they finish their revamping of the game there will be a $12.99 a month fee.

I hate to ask but wheres the post about the ENTIRETY of 1.19? Im normally happy to read articles here until they leave out important parts. Before this article, it was about crafting, chocobos, now ifrit, what about the abolishment of physical levels and the standardizing and automation of stats, and the important game-changing details? |

The patch notes for 1.19 are simply too big to post here. One might even say it feels like a totally different game now, hence the outrage about the recent month old review.
Please go HERE for the Patch notes (bring at least an hour to read) |
